The reason I referred to the woman as a thing rather than a person was that there was a serious corruption in it like someone had jammed both an normal soul and a Xeno soul into the same body haphazardly. The normal soul sort of subsumed the Xeno soul into this twisted shape that I genuinely doubted was healthy. The benefits of it were immediately clear though as like a monster this thing could also improve itself through the consumption of magic stones and had a body more aligned with physical violence than was normal for a person but more typical of a monster.-
They still appeared human with the pale skin and hair and all that but the brief glance at their musculoskeletal system on contact with me showed me that was more or less the end of that comparison. There were muscle groups that shouldn't be there and the sheer density of the things bones were frankly outrageous for how smoothly it moved. One thing I can say for certain after this encounter though was that this thing wouldn't be forgetting me any time soon, kinda hard to ignore the loss of an eye after all.-
"Thank you." Ais said once it was all over with.
"No problem, whatever that thing was needed to be dealt with sooner rather than later. A shame it got away. Think you'll be good to give the report for this incident, i'm no good with stuff like that?" I said with a shrug and she nodded.
"You are level three still?" she asked after a brief pause.
I nodded "Yup, close to leveling up though. If you are wondering about how I am so strong and if you could copy the method then I'm going to have to disappoint you. My power is the result of a personal advantage and not something that can be copied." I said honestly and she looked disappointed somehow despite being blank faced.
After that I parted ways with her since I honestly didn't want to deal with the paperwork that came from a situation like that. Still it got me thinking as that thing inspired me a little. See I found the magic stone within it's body after the brief scan I got in contact with it and how it was serving as it's core and wondered if I might be able to replicate something similar with cursed stones.-
Not in a person but rather in my own personal brand of cursed spirits that came from tools I hadn't properly set up. The real problem was that I wasn't sure how I'd control the final product. If the JJK manga had better explained how cursed dolls and puppetry worked I was certain I wouldn't have this conundrum but here I am so nothing for it. -

Things quieted down more or less for a good while after that with the sole exception that Ais apparently leveled up to six shortly after the previous incident. According to Tiona the blond had gone ahead and soloed Udeaus for her level up requirement. It was a good challenge since that particular monster rex was definitely at level six but due to being stationary was also one of the easiest monster rexes to defeat. Still in the end it was considered a level six and since Ais's level up requirements weren't at a ridiculous height like my own crossing that gap was enough for her.-
I on the other hand knew for a fact that killing Udeaus solo myself would likely at most be just enough to get my level five level up. Even then I was a bit iffy on that as my strength by that time might well be close to that of a level sevens if not on par with Ottar himself. One should keep in mind that with my cursed techniques, Reverse curse technique and Domain expansion alone I could likely one vs one even veteran level sixes such as Finn and the others in the Loki familia.-
That doesn't even begin to cover my stats that when added together are almost equivalent to a level fives in terms of just raw power. All together and even right now Ottar himself would find fighting me slightly troublesome. Not majorly as he was still more than strong enough to steam roll my ass but not effortless like if any other level three were to challenge him for some suicidal reason. I assume so anyways as I haven't actually ever seen him go all out and I may even be underestimating how powerful he really is.-
I can't exactly trust Freya on the matter either as she's trying to get in my pants and would say anything she needed to to do so. I don't think she lies exactly so much as stretches the truth a bit, hard to tell honestly. Anyways I ended up spending right around half a month just collecting smoke and magic stones to replenish my stockpile of cursed stones while hopefully getting enough to level up to four by maxing my stats out finally.-
