Daddy is too Strong Chapter 86

Administrative Affairs was a position where the person in charge was responsible for various miscellaneous tasks without a specific purpose. In the public sector, each office or department typically had one person responsible for document classification, reception, budgeting, and accounting, usually assigned to the junior-most employee in the department. Do-Jun and a female employee were at a fairly large stationery store, just a five-minute walk from Seoul City Hall. “Hmm... Senior, which one should we pick?” she muttered as she stared at a box filled with various types of instant coffee, struggling to decide. One month ago, Lee Yeon-Hee, previously in charge of administration, went on maternity leave. A new employee was assigned to the Fissure Management Division, but since she was still inexperienced, Do-Jun had been teaching her various tasks, and she learned to follow him around. “The manager and Senior Kwon prefer instant coffee, while the three section chiefs take theirs black. Senior Park and Senior Cha like barley tea...” Do-Jun explained. After working in the Fissure Management Division for four months, he had already memorized the drink preferences of everyone in the office. In fact, he had made it a point to learn them quickly when he first returned to Earth, wanting to adapt to normal life as soon as possible. By now, it had become a habit—something he could recall without even thinking. “And you, Senior? What do you like?” the female employee asked. “I don’t mind. Anything’s fine,” Do-Jun answered honestly. He really didn’t care. Whether it was instant or black coffee, he drank both without preference. Still, if he really had to choose, he was partial to one specific drink. “Maybe Dragon Well Tea,” Do-Jun muttered as a smile crept across his face, recalling the tea he often drank in the Central Plains. Lately, Yong-Yong had taken a liking to wandering around the city. After being cooped up in his nest for thousands of years, he found himself lost in thought, musing that he would never have thought of coming to Earth if he hadn’t met Do-Jun that day. “Come test your aim with this darts challenge and win a prize!” He heard someone advertising in a loud voice. Every ten meters or so, cellphone carrier booths lined the street. To attract customers, they had everything from inflatable advertising balloons to loud music, even setting up small stages for dance performances. What caught Yong-Yong’s attention was the dart challenge, which, judging by the size of the crowd, seemed quite popular. Yong-Yong squeezed through the people to poke his head out, only to see a man throw a dart at the spinning roulette wheel. When the assistant stopped the wheel, the word “Miss” appeared. The man sighed in disappointment and stepped back. “Anyone else want to give it a try?” the assistant asked. Yong-Yong immediately jumped out and shouted, “I do!” In an instant, everyone’s eyes turned toward him. A talking dog? No, it didn’t exactly look like a dog. He had two small white horns on his head and tiny wings on his back. Even with that, it didn’t take long for people to accept his appearance. In a world where everyone had a Status Window and certain individuals could awaken special skills, a talking dog with a slightly odd appearance wasn’t beyond belief. “What’s your name?” the assistant asked. “Yong-Yong... Ah, no, Izaas.” The assistant wrote “Izaas” in large letters on the participant list and handed Yong-Yong a dart from the box. “Alright, Izaas, you only get one shot. Ready?” Five words were written on the spinning wheel, and Yong-Yong decided to go for the narrowest spot, barely an inch wide. Such games often placed the best prizes in the toughest spots to hit. Though he had no idea what glamping was, Yong-Yong figured it had to be delicious. The wheel spun rapidly, and Yong-Yong lifted the dart with his front paw. Suddenly, time around him seemed to slow down, and everything seemed stuck in slow motion. It was his ninth-circle high-magic spell, Time Slip. The dart landed, but the wheel was still spinning. The assistant stopped it to check the result, his eyes widening in surprise. Everyone watching gasped. “Congratulations! You’ve won first place: a glamping voucher!” Yong-Yong’s grin stretched from ear to ear until he saw the prize. He stared blankly at the two pieces of paper in his paw and looked up at the assistant. “Sir... what is this...?” he asked the vendor. The assistant crouched down to meet Yong-Yong’s eye level and smiled. “It’s the first-place prize.” Slowly, Yong-Yong confirmed once again that it wasn’t food. Then he looked up at the assistant, utterly confused, murmuring as if he had lost his whole world, “Sir, where... where’s the food?” After returning home from school, Yoon-Hee found a ticket on the dining table. It read “Glamping in Nature,” and its expiration date was this Sunday. She was sure it hadn’t been there that morning. “Yong-Yong, where did this come from?” she asked. “I won it in darts,” Yong-Yong answered flatly from his lounging position on the sofa as he watched TV. Yoon-Hee tilted her head and flipped the ticket over, her eyes widening slightly as she read the back: Free private BBQ and free use of the fishing pond (fishing rods not provided). It also mentioned that the BBQ meat and seafood were available for unlimited refills. A quick search on her smartphone revealed that one night at the very glamping place cost 250,000 won. “I should’ve gone for fifth place... ugh.” Still watching the TV, Yong-Yong slammed his paw on the sofa in frustration. Why did he go for a useless first-place prize when the prize for fifth place was delicious chocolate? He had assumed the best prize would naturally be something delicious. “Yong-Yong, can... can I have this?” Yoon-Hee asked him tentatively. “Sure, take it. It’s not like I have any use for it.” “Why? You don’t want to go?” “They’re offering unlimited BBQ.” Yong-Yong vanished from the sofa instantly, reappearing on Yoon-Hee’s shoulder. His eyes darted around, reading the ticket in her hand. Upon confirming the part about unlimited BBQ meat and seafood, he panicked, shaking her shoulder. “I-I want to go too! Take me! Besides, that’s my ticket in the first place!” Yoon-Hee smiled and tucked the ticket behind her back. “Who was that dragon earlier who said he didn’t need it?” “Well, I might take you if you really want to go.” “Huff, huff... Please take me!” “What should I do?” Yoon-Hee pretended to ponder, but just then, something caught her eye. Having returned home from work, Do-Jun walked into the living room. He stopped in his tracks at the bizarre sight he had never seen before. Usually, Yong-Yong would be lying on the sofa, watching TV, but instead, he was scurrying around the living room, mopping the floor. “Welcome home!” Yoon-Hee smiled as she approached Do-Jun. Just then, having finished mopping the living room thoroughly, including the corners, Yong-Yong picked up a piece of paper from the table and handed it to Yoon-Hee. She patted his head proudly, took a stamp out of her pocket, and stamped the paper. Yong-Yong beamed with joy after receiving the stamp. Do-Jun watched the scene in silence for a moment before turning his head toward Yoon-Hee, who gave a sheepish smile and explained the situation. Yong-Yong won a glamping ticket as a prize from a dart game, but he tossed it away since he didn’t need it. However, when he found out that the ticket came with unlimited barbeque, Yoon-Hee set a condition that he needed to earn ten “Great Job!” stamps to come along. “So... I was wondering, Father, are you free this weekend?” she asked, checking whether he had any business trips or prior engagements. Do-Jun recalled that he didn’t have any plans and nodded. Yoon-Hee’s face brightened instantly. The glamping site in Pocheon, Gyeonggi-do, was bustling with visitors. A stream and swimming hole were right next to the campsite, offering plenty of fun activities like swimming and fishing. Despite being a camp, the site was well-equipped with a bathhouse and a convenience store, so there was no need to bring much. Upon entering the assigned tent, they found a spacious area complete with a TV, air conditioning, and heated mats. Even the storage cabinet had books that looked interesting enough to read while lounging in the hammock outside. “There’s a second floor!” Yong-Yong yelled, peeking over the ledge after climbing the stairs.[1] Looking at the bed on the second floor and the small night light beside it, Yong-Yong only had one thought. “Heh. It’s smaller than the bed at home.” For Yong-Yong, home was no longer the nest he had lived in for thousands of years. It was now Unit 301 in Changshin Villa, where he had lived for only a few months. Meanwhile, Do-Jun stepped outside the tent and looked up at the sky. Noticing that the sun was particularly hot that day, he decided that his skin would burn if he stayed under the sun too long, so he went back inside to get sunscreen. “Karsiel, come here for a second,” Do-Jun called out. “Yes, Master.” Karsiel ran over at Do-Jun’s call in her human form. Do-Jun took off her straw hat and squeezed some sunscreen onto her face, arms, and legs, rubbing it in thoroughly. “Yong—” Just as Do-Jun was about to call Yong-Yong, he noticed that Yong-Yong was already slapping on some sunscreen from a single-use pack. Do-Jun wondered if dragons even needed sunscreen, but he decided not to think too hard about it. Yoon-Hee sat down in front of Do-Jun. Unsure of what she wanted, he just stared at her. “Hmm...?” Yoon-Hee mumbled as her face showed a bit of embarrassment. A moment later, her face turned beet red, and she jumped up. She had somehow thought that Do-Jun would naturally do the same for her as well. After spending the afternoon swimming and fishing, it was finally time for dinner. Seafood sizzled on the grill over the charcoal, filling the air with a delicious aroma. Scallops and pen shells soaked in butter popped open, and large prawns turned a beautiful shade of red. “Aah... Hmm?” Yong-Yong paused just as he was about to pop a piece of scallop into his mouth. A cat with innocent eyes was staring at him from nearby. “Sigh, here.” Yong-Yong tossed the scallop meat, and the cat quickly dashed over to gobble it up. The cats around here mostly survived on scraps from campers or by scavenging the campsite leftovers. Meanwhile, Yoon-Hee was busy peeling shrimp. After about a minute, she had a perfectly peeled shrimp, which she carefully offered to Do-Jun. “This is delicious,” Do-Jun remarked. “Want me to peel you another one?” Yoon-Hee asked with a smile. “No, you should eat too, and so should they.” “I’ll peel one for you, Young Master,” said Karsiel. “Then I’ll peel one for you, Karsiel,” Yong-Yong added. Do-Jun chuckled as he picked up a shrimp and peeled it. A man was staring at the ranking board in the depths of the Deep Realm. The name of Vapula, the sixty-third demon of Solomon’s seventy-two, had vanished. 1. Koreans like to take their urban conveniences along while immersing themselves in nature, so we have these ugly-ahhh two-story tents :)))) ☜
