Without the slightest hesitation, Kulas handed Tian Yang a large vial of his freshly drawn blood, stunning his own family into silence. The amount he gave was greater than all the blood he had bestowed upon them collectively.
Although Tian Yang had stayed in the palace for a long time, most of Kulas's children had never realized how close the two truly were, for they rarely spoke to one another. Only after witnessing this did they begin to grasp the depth of their relationship.
A few of them felt the urge to voice their doubts, questioning whether Tian Yang would truly use such priceless blood to help their father—or sell it for his own gain. However, they also sensed that doing so might result in enraging their father, so they held their tongues.
After putting away Kulas' blood, Tian Yang said to him, "Promise me one thing. That you'll contact me if anything happens with the Three Pillars of Heaven, or your condition gets worse."
"I promise." Kulas nodded with a smile.
Tian Yang and Ren Xia didn't linger at the palace and left shortly after. Rather than waiting for a ship to return home, they decided to just fly back.
"I can't believe that idiot actually killed someone from the Three Pillars of Heaven," Ren Xia sighed out loud as they traveled.
"It's odd. He's been fine for fifty years, but the moment he meets with people from the Three Pillars of Heaven, his mood swings return. Is it really a coincidence?" Tian Yang questioned out loud.
"Are you suggesting that the Three Pillars of Heaven have something to do with his mood swings? That's impossible, given that it has been happening to him long before they even met."
"I guess… but I still cannot help but feel something off about the whole situation. Though I might just be overthinking it."
"Putting that aside, what is our plan now?" Ren Xia then asked.
"I'm going to look for the Heavenly Doctor and see if he could figure out anything about Kulas' condition through his blood," he said.
"The Heavenly Doctor, huh? I heard he loves to wander the Divine Heavens and never stays in the same place for longer than a month. Finding him will be a pain in the ass."
"Even if he moves around every day, he's our only hope right now."
Thus, Tian Yang and Ren Xia started their next journey. They wandered the Divine Heaven in search of the Heavenly Doctor, who was known to be able to cure any disease. Meanwhile, Sun Rouxi and the others returned to the Holy Continent, where they revealed the situation to the rest of the family.
Unsurprisingly, the Three Pillars of Heaven were enraged by the news, especially the Sun Family, as the only individual who died belonged to their family. The higher-ups from the three families gathered for a meeting to discuss how they should respond to Kulas' actions.
"Uncontrollable mood swings? What a convenient excuse. I don't believe it for one second," said one of the elders from the Ji Family.
"I also don't believe it," agreed an elder from the Tian Family.
"So, how should we deal with this situation? Do we go to war with them?" "Let's slow down a little. I don't think it would be wise to declare war so quickly," said the Patriarch of the Tian Family.
The Patriarch of the Ji Family then spoke, "I also don't recommend going to war with them. While their numbers are small, they make up for it with their overwhelming prowess. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that in the entire Divine Heaven, they're only below our Three Pillars of Heaven in terms of prowess."
"Are you saying that we should just act like the Giant Emperor didn't kill one of my people? The person he killed was one of our elders, no less!" The Patriarch of the Sun Family angrily shouted, even slamming the table with a clenched fist.
"We didn't say that. The Giant Emperor will definitely pay for attacking us unprovoked, but we must navigate this wisely," said the Patriarch of the Tian Family.
"And how the hell is sitting around a smart choice?! As you said, the Giant Race is already near our level! And it only took them a few thousand years to reach such a level! He paused for a second.
