Naina's POV
"What will you do now?" I asked Dad and sat beside him.
I saw that he was messaging someone, but he put off his mobile as soon as I peeked into his mobile.
"I don't know," he said.
"I am sorry Naina," he apologized and as soon I heard his apology tears rolled down my cheeks.
"How can you lie about Mom?" I asked as I wiped my tears but tears were not stopping.
"I was only thinking about the next time I will drink," he said.
"How did you even get this idea?" I asked and once again wiped my tears.
""One of my colleague's wife was ill and he asked Mr. Singhania for money, he helped him so one of my friends suggested…"
"To lie about Mom and take money from him?" I asked cutting him off and I nodded in a yes.
Before I could say anything he got a call from someone and went outside.
I went in my room and sat on the bed.
I took the Mom's picture and once again tears started rolling down my cheeks.
"Mom," I said and started crying loudly.
"I wish you were here Mom. I can't believe Dad lied about you. I was thinking that he was busy working where as he was busy drinking and I don't even know when he got addicted to drinking. I don't know how will he pay money to his boss," I said as I caressed her photo.
"But I didn't like him kneeling in front of his boss, even though he is wrong but he is still my Dad and I cannot see him like this. Why did Dad become like this Mom?" I said as I held the photo close to my heart and cried my heart out.
After some time I wiped my tears and looked at the photo.
"Mom, you know, today I was so happy as Sameer proposed me but my whole happiness ruined as soon as I got home, "I said and a smile escaped my lips as I remembered what Sameer said.
Flashback.
The last day of my exam.
"How was your paper?" I asked Sameer.
"It was okay," he said with a shrug.
"How is Shivam and is he liking Delhi university?" I asked.
After his board exam he decided to pursue BSc in Delhi university.
"He is fine and he will be happy when he hears that you were asking about him," he said and I smiled.
We were walking and suddenly he held my hand.
"Naina for three years we are together and in these three years I myself don't know when you slowly made a place in my heart," he said and I was too surprised to say anything.
"Sameer what are you doing and… "
"Naina, I love you," he said cutting me off and I was too shocked to react.
Oh my god!
He loves me.
From the day we met in college I had a crush on him but I never thought that he loves me.
I always thought that for him I was just his friend.
"Naina?" he called me and I came out of my thoughts.
"You love me?" I asked.
"Yes and for the past few months I wanted to say it but was scared, but today is the last day of our college, and I wanted to confess it. Don't pressure yourself, if you don't love me I will understand," he said.
"I....I.."
God! Why am I stuttering?
"It's okay if you don't love me back," he said and I could feel the sadness in his voice.
"No!" I exclaimed.
I don't know about love but I really like you," I said truthfully and he smiled.
"You are so honest and that's one of the reason I love you."
Every time he says he loves me my heart skips a beat.
"Really?" I asked.
"Yes sweetheart," he said.
For the first time he had called me by something other than Naina.
"What are the other reason?" I asked.
"You are beautiful but I am attracted by your simplicity ."
I was so busy registering his words in my brain that I could not say anything.
"Okay bye we will meet later," I said and ran towards the bus stop as I felt too shy to say anything.
I turned around to see that Sameer laughing loudly which made me laugh.
He bid me goodbye as my bus arrived and the whole ride there was a constant smile on my face thinking that Sameer loves me.
End of flashback.
Ranveer's POV
I was tossing and turning on the bed.
What should I do?
Should I ask him not to give my money back?
I can't believe he spent all the money on drinking.
I remembered the way she was crying.
Her crying face was haunting me.
I want to see the smile on her face which she had on the day I first saw her.
What if Mr. Mathur get her married to the drug addict?
No.
I got up and sat on the bed.
The thought of her being sad is hurting me.
This can't happen.
What if I ask him not to pay me back but still he gets Naina married to that guy for money?
What if in future he once again get addicted to drinking and make a deal of Naina's life with someone else who is not good for her?
I can't let it happen.
I have to do something.
Her whole life will be filled with pain if he marries that guy and seeing tears in her eyes breaks my heart.
