Watching Bonnie and James being forced to the brink of despair by himself, Bruce laughed heartily. When everything was under his control, he decided to verify something.
As he slowly approached Mika, Bruce asked in a very strange tone, "My dear father, at this moment, don’t you want to see your son and your favorite daughter one last time?"
"Daughter?" Fatty hiding in the laundry room sighed and activated Logic’s transformation program.
Then, the Freedom Fighters watched in stunned disbelief as a Brawler slipped out of the door in front of them in a strange posture. It crawled forward, blending perfectly with its surroundings, as light as a chameleon-like cat.
"If you kill me, can you control this Empire?" James’s voice came from behind the slowly retreating Mika.
"I don’t care!" Bruce roared like a wounded lion, advancing step by step. Behind him, several Brawlers that had finished their battles were following in a fan formation. The energy bullets shot by the infantry hitting the energy shield of the Feather Fan only caused a dense ripple.
"Keep talking, keep talking," Fatty muttered to himself, secretly joining the circle of Mechas closing in on Mika.
"So why are you doing this?" Amid the hot gunfire, James’s voice was cold.
"Haha, isn’t this what you’ve always wanted?" Bruce’s voice was filled with spiteful pleasure, "Haven’t you always been dedicated to making your sons fight each other, experiencing the joy of controlling everything in such chaos?"
The leading Feather Fan stopped. The energy cannon on Mika made Bruce wisely maintain a distance. He was waiting for the Mechas behind to surround.
"So, you’ve betrayed me!" James’s voice was devoid of any emotion as if what Bruce had said had nothing to do with him.
"You’re the one who taught us how to betray, ever since you took the throne from Uncle Sidney, everything you’ve done has been to consolidate your rule! You betrayed us first! You never treated us as your sons, we were just your tools, even your toys!" Bruce’s voice trembled with a kind of cathartic release. The source of thɪs content is Novᴇ(l)Fɪre .ɴᴇt
"Does an Emperor really need to act this way?" Bruce seemed a bit lost, "Father, now, you should give me the final lesson."
With a wave of Bruce’s hand, two Investigation Bureau soldiers brought Ann Lei and Susan out from the fighting arena. The two beautiful women walked through the still rain of bullets like a forest.
"Cease fire!" Bonnie’s voice was filled with helplessness.
The gunfire gradually stopped, and the soldiers on both sides began to gather cautiously, confronting each other carefully. Despite this, there were only a few dozen people still able to stand.
Most of them were already lying in a pool of blood.
Susan and Ann Lei stopped. They couldn’t step on the ground soaked with blood.
To everyone’s shock, two armors on the arm of the Feather Fan Mecha popped up, and an energy machine gun emerged, aiming at Susan who stood beside Ann Lei.
"Bruce! You’re insane!" Bonnie shouted incredulously.
"Ann Lei..." To everyone’s surprise, the first words Bruce said while pointing the energy cannon at his own sister were directed at Ann Lei, "You’re so lucky, the Heavenly God gave you to me. After today, you will be my bride...."
"In your dreams..." Ann Lei smiled gently. She saw a sneaking Brawler sticking a spike into the back of another Brawler.
"To become my bride, the first thing you need to understand is what kind of person I am, how I will treat those who betray me."
It was as if Bruce hadn’t heard Ann Lei’s rejection. He continued to make decisions about other people’s fates in a self-centered way, "Today, you will learn the final lesson my father taught me along with me!"
"Which is... what is to show no mercy!... Bruce’s voice was filled with ferocity, "Father, you should make your choice now! One bullet, for you or your daughter, my sister?"
"She’s your sister. You won’t shoot her!" James’s voice seemed devoid of any human emotion.
Susan, who had been silent all along, quietly turned her face away.
Bonnie was completely stunned.
"Hahahaha!" Bruce almost laughed to tears, "What a grandiose remark! You can’t escape, why not simply act grandly, so we can still feel you have a bit of humanity?"
"Didn’t you say this was the final lesson I taught you?" James suddenly laughed, "By learning this lesson, you will be just like me. I believe you will be proud of yourself! Because..."
"You have finally become what you hated the most...!"
Before James finished his sentence, a Brawler unceremoniously fired two shots, and as the two soldiers escorting Ann Lei fell into a pool of blood, the Brawler suddenly thrust its claw into the waist of the Feather Fan.
A spike penetrated the Mecha cockpit, pinning Bruce to the chair.
The gushing blood clogged Bruce’s throat. In the moment of losing consciousness, he heard his own voice.
