Madison POV
I stormed out of his room, tears streaming down my face non-stop. How could Zach be this selfish?
I don’t think I have ever been hurt like this. I wiped my tears as I step into my car and let my head on the steering wheel to cry out like a baby that I suddenly am.
Crying may not solve the issue but still, I need to cry.
Zach POV
Adrian stepped into my office minutes later with a questioning look on his face, “What did you say to her?”
“Simple, what she needs to know and she left instead.” I groaned
“Aren’t you going to go after her?” he asks and I sighed, confused.
“I don’t know, I should just leave her alone.” I ask with a carved brow, “You love her, you should still go after her Zach.” He says and I sighed.
“Could you keep your eyes on he tonight? Till tomorrow morning, I will come for her.” I ask and he nods his head.
Kingsley POV
I have been in my room for hours thinking of how to go about it. There has to be away I will bring Madison to Greg but I feel it would be so hard for me to.
I rub my fingers on my temples as I heaved in a sigh and groaned aloud, “Would you remain this way?” a voice I recognize to be Kevin’s voice said behind me
“Kevin, why haven't you left me?” I ask him. I expected him to be mad at me because of what I did but he doesn’t seem so.
“I would have done same if I were to be in your shoes, but still don’t delay.” He said as he walks to me and sat beside me
“I really don’t know how to lure her here; Madison isn’t that simple Kevin.” I said lowly and he sighs.
“You have to find a way, even if it would be forcefully. Greg has no interest in her, he just wants to use her to get Zach. So, you shouldn’t be scared about a thing okay?” he says
“I am still not okay with it.”
“You better stop overthinking and let’s get this done, once and for all.” He spoke
“Fine, let’s go tonight.”
HOURS LATER
Madison POV
It is evening, and I decided to go nowhere throughout the day. Right now, I feel like Krystal in me because I have been drinking alcohol since I got back from Zach’s mansion.
I’d get wasted, and I don’t care about it.
I would rather die here in my house than to die in the hands of Greg and his men.
I lazily got up from my couch to get myself the 6th bottle of brandy and poured myself a glass.
I can’t believe I am not as drunk as I want to be. Ugh!
“I have been a doctor for over 4 good years now. And I am expected to just drop my hard work of labor?” I laugh at myself.
I turned my phone on airplane mode and locked myself in my house, I need to be alone.
“Shouldn’t I just drug myself?” I say as I got up from the couch and went to pull the drawer next to my TV and brought out a bottle of sedatives and other pills.
I stare at it tearfully and emptied the content on the ground with a loud cry and suddenly, a soft door knock was heard.
I flinched back, I am not expecting visitors. I ignore and look at the ground messed up with pills and empty bottles of vodka, brandy and whisky.
I advise my patients not to drink, here I am drinking!!
Few minutes later, there was no knock again and I thought there wont be any noise, but I was wrong.
A loud thud sound came from my kitchen and glass shattering into pieces was also heard.
I slowly place down my glass of brandy as I got up to walk to the kitchen but before I did, Kingsley stepped out.
“Kingsley? Do you have to break into my house??” I yelled and he examines the room before standing before me to speak.
“Madison, what are you doing to yourself???” he yelled as he grabbed my shoulders.
I slapped his hands away and stepped back, “Nothing. You haven't answered my question.”
“You weren’t answering the door knock and I was afraid something has happened to you.” He says and I roll my eyes
“You need to get out of here, you have caused me enough trouble Kingsley.” I warned and grabbed my glass to take a sip.
“We need to talk.”
“Never!” I fired back
"It's important."
I crossed her arms, clearly wary of Kingsley. "What's going on?" I asked.
Kingsley POV
I took a deep breath. I know that what I am about to do is wrong, but I have no choice. I can’t let Greg hurt her.
"I need you to come with me," I said, trying to keep his tone calm. "It's a matter of life and death."
Madison shook her head. "I'm not going anywhere with you. Not after what you did."
"I know I messed up," I said. "But you have to come with me. It's for your own good."
Madison scowled, clearly not convinced. "What's going on, Kingsley? Who's after me?"
"I can't say," I said, hoping that she would trust him. "But I promise you, I won't let anything happen to you. Please, just come with me."
Madison hesitated for a moment, but then she nodded. "Okay," she said. "I'll come with you. But I swear to God, if you try anything funny, I'll kill you myself." I don’t think she knew when she said this, she looks tipsy!!!
I nodded, relief flooding through me. I know that I am doing the right thing, even though it felt so wrong.
“We need to leave now.” Kevin said behind her. Madison turned around immediately to see who else I brought in.
“Who are you??” she demanded
“Babe, she doesn’t know about me??” he asks
“Babe? Wait, you are his partner?? How dare you turn my cousin Bi??” she yelled but Kevin ignored her and hit the side of his hand on her neck as she fell unconscious in less than a second.
“I wouldn’t want that you know.” I groaned and he lifts her from the ground as he carried her into the car we parked outside.
Adrian POV
We arrived at Madison’s house hours later. Liam, Zane and I are in the car and we alight from the car to walk into her house.
“Why is it so quiet?” Zane asks
“She is a doctor. She could possibly be studying.” Liam shrugged and I placed a knock on the door but heard no reply. I was about to again until the door went open on its own, Zane turned to me with a suspicious look.
“What is going on here?” Liam mutters as we slowly stepped into her house but found no one around except the ground being messed with drugs and alcohol
“What??”
“Did she drug herself??” Zane gasps as he crouched to the ground and Liam goes into her kitchen.
“Madison??” I called out but there was no reply
“F*ck!!” Liam yelled aloud from the kitchen
“Guys, you need to see this.” He added and I ran into the kitchen along with Zane. We froze our steps at the door and my fist clenched at the sight of the broken window.
“They broke into her house.” Zane
