RYAN POV
In life, the sooner one decides,it might be for better or worse. With a heavy heart, I left Ariel that night. I wasn't happy about it, but I had to go.
My conscience kept prickling me, as I really hoped I could come back on time and make it up to her. For now, I had to meet with Evelyn, who, according to the doctor, needed to be watched.
She could harm herself without thinking. She was entirely different from the Evelyn I knew. My time with her made me see clearly her sense of wanting to compete with Ariel.
I still pitied her, though. My drive to her place ended with a conclusion on one of my numerous thoughts.
I knew for a certainty that I was no longer in love with her. Once she recovers from amnesia, I will put a proper means to divorce her.
I halted as I saw Ma'am Claudia by Evelyn's room. Her eyes met mine, as she had tears in her eyes.
I took giant steps closer as she landed on my body, as she slightly rested on me.
"She screamed from her sleep and swiftly went to the kitchen. I was shocked when I saw her with a knife. She kept chanting your name, as she ran inside and locked the door. She had all the keys with her.” She lamented, as I patted her.
She stepped backward, as I glanced at Evelyn's door. It was still around 8pm at night. I reassured Ma'am Claudia, as I requested she sit in the living room.
She nodded and simply stood, as I walked towards Evelyn's room, stopping at the entrance.
I knocked gently, patiently waiting. My heart raced a bit, as there was silence.
"Ryan, are you there?” Evelyn's voice was quiet and frail.
I felt a jolt of relief knowing she was still alive.
"Yes, I am. Please open the door.” I requested.
Then it happened again. Silence enveloped.
The door opened slightly revealing Evelyn who looked a bit off. Her hair scattered, some covering part of her face, tears on her face.
She hugged me as she sobbed. I simply let her, not because I wanted to. I still felt guilty for leaving Ariel. In fact, my head was muddled with thoughts of Ariel.
"I had a dream, Ryan. They want to kill me.” She fidgeted, slowly releasing herself from my body.
She looked frantically scared.
I held her hand, hoping she would calm down. My palm felt a slight touch of liquid, as I slowly removed my hand from hers. Her wrist dripped with blood, as my eyes widened.
The knife!
I raced inside, the knife on the floor with blood stain. My eyes lingered as it met with the first aid kit. I took some I might be needing as I took Evelyn to her bed.
She was still crying, suddenly speechless as I helped her with her wound. I sighed, as I cleaned her wrist.
"Evelyn, you need to be calm. No one will kill you. It was just a dream.” She nodded as I placed the kits back, along with the knife, in the trash bin.
I went into the bathroom to clean my hands. I returned as Evelyn sat down, her head bowed slightly. She looked disheveled.
"Ryan, you are not leaving me tonight, are you?” She spoke suddenly, as I felt my breath hitch for a second.
“I have to, Evelyn.” I replied, feeling heavy at my words.
The thought of Ariel already angry at me weighed me down with a lot of anxiety.
Evelyn stood, as she took steps closer, a few inches between us, my inner mind slowly chanting for me to step back. But I was still, staring back at her brown eyes.
"We were and still are married, right? Let's consummate. I want to be with you tonight.” Her hand clung to my shoulder as she tried to pull me closer.
I removed her grip on me, as a hiss escaped from my lips. I was slowly getting irritated.
"Evelyn, you are not serious, are you? You still have amnesia. And there is only one person I will lie down with, and that is Ariel.” I enunciated, saying the last set of words slowly and quietly.
“It's fine. At least eat with me. I made some vegetables…”
"Evelyn.” I called out, stopping her from saying more words.
"I already have dinner. Don't worry about me.” I stated, already feeling the sense of anger breeding in me.
' I need to be calm, slow to speak. The one who gives in to anger is senseless.' I kept chanting inwardly and gradually, my body relaxed.
I left the room, as I felt Evelyn trailing behind me. I took a glass cup, filling it with water, as I stretched it to her.
Her brows raised slightly, curiosity laced in her eyes.
I brought out a pack of drugs that the doctor prescribed for her, as I gave her two of the tablets.
"Please take this. It will help.” She accepted, to my surprise as she swallowed drinking the water afterward.
I felt relief flush through me instantly.
"I've done your will. Won't you at least fulfill my wish? I believe Ariel will understand.”
I facepalmed, realizing how much of a trick seemed to be with her. She only took the drugs to trap me.
"I didn't promise you anything. It is late already and most importantly, you don't know Ariel.” I spoke, telling her to her very face.
She laughed, shocking me the more. My face Concocted into a frown, as I breathed out gently.
"I met your wife already, privately this time. She is quite frail, naive, and sometimes stupid. She would always put others interest ahead of hers. Isn't that gullible.” She cackled, as my chest squeezed until I thought it would burst.
I felt anger crash into me, as I held her hand firmly. She groaned slightly, as her stare cut to mine. She glared at me, trying to release my grip, but I was firm.
"The next time you talk about her like that, I can't promise not to do anything stupid. Goodnight.” I glared at her, as I turned to leave.
I nodded curtly at Ma'am Claudia as I made to leave.
"Time will only tell Ryan. She will leave your confused self.” Evelyn shouted, as I felt my heart skipped at her words.
“None of your business.” I growled.
"I will kill mysel, if you leave tonight.” She spoke further, as my anger finally got to the top.
"You are free to do so, Evelyn Armstrong.”
I hastened my footsteps as I got into my car. I drove with my hand firmly on the steering wheel.
I didn't care whether she killed herself or not. She is getting crazier day by day…
For the umpteenth time, I was scared. Scared Ariel will leave me.
'I thought you didn't love her.' My subconscious reminded me, as I gritted, slamming my right hand against the steering wheel.
"Fuck love.”
I ran my hand through my hair roughly, as Evelyn's last words kept ringing in my head.
I came to a resolution to figure out the best way to live without Evelyn. I can't let Ariel go. She is the best part of me.

I allowed myself to keep calm under the shower, each part of my body slowly relaxing under the warm water.
I didn't go to our bedroom, rather I used my other room. It reminded me of the first time Ariel made a move to seduce me.
I chuckled at the thought, and slowly, guilt ran through me, reminding me of how I had avoided Ariel.
She must have slept, I assumed.
I am a confused fellow indeed, but tomorrow will be the best time to make things right.
I really hope Ariel would understand. I am stupid, aren't I?
I got out of the shower, wrapping a towel to cover the lower part of my body, as I stepped out.
Looking up, my breath hitched. Brown eyes stared down at me. Her blonde hair down, her lips looking pinkish than ever. She was just in a pair of matching red panties and a bra. She looked stunning and sophisticated as ever.
"A.riel.”I stuttered, as her hand slowly moved on my chest, water still dripping from my body.
Her hand trailed to my earlobes, sensation jolting out of my body.
"W…what a.re you do…ING?”I stammered, hoping this wasn't a dream but a reality.
"I thought we could continue from where we stopped.''She leaned closer, my body tensed with sexual desire.
"Aren't you angry with me?”I asked, as her low chuckle raced across the line, tickling the little receptors in my ears.
His fingers brushed my hair, as my body yearned to be glued to hers.
"Not at all. Shall we?"
I cut her a glance, and she just laughed. She interrupted me with a light hand to my chest. My chest registered her touch. Like a trigger sensor, my skin buzzes, where her hand is resting.
She goes up on her toes, taking my lips. My heart stops.
I held my breath as her soft warm lips pressed against mine. Tingles erupted down my body.
I held her waist closer, exploring every part of her mouth.
I gently lifted her on the bed, as we broke the kiss.
"I'm sorry for not coming to our room. I.."
She hit my head, as my eyes widened a bit.
"Cut the apology. I want this night to be the best night ever."I chuckled, as I claimed her lips, our bodies moving in sync, each one exploring one another.
It was a night of sexual passion. We consummated and it was truly the best night ever.
