Michelle's POV
I had sent Lucas a message on WhatsApp to inform him that I would be coming over to his place so we could discuss my issue with Olivia,he didn't reply,I was already getting used to that,I assumed he had seen the message because obviously he would see it on his chat list. I headed to his house after getting ready,I just wore a red hoodie and black tights,when I got to his house,I called him but he didn't pick up,I was about to ring the doorbell when his Elder brother,Nonso opened the door.
"Good morning"
"Oh,yeah, morning, Michelle right?"
"Yes"
"Sorry,is Lucas at home?"I asked as his brother headed towards their big gate in haste. "Um..I don't know,I just came to pick me up something,I haven't seen him,ask one of the maids"He yelled from a short distance.
I walked into the house and saw one of the maids,"Um.. excuse me,is Lucas at home?"I asked the girl who must be alittle older than me.
"You mean small oga,yes,he's around,he's in his room with um...that your other friend,Olivia"
Well, she's alittle bit learned, atleast she didn't speak pidgin english,a smile made it's way to my face when I heard Olivia was around.
This is the perfect opportunity to ask for forgiveness

"Thank you"I said very fast before skipping up the stairs in happiness.
My phone kept chipping,it usually made that sound whenever I had a notification from any of my social media accounts,I ignored it,I planned to check it later. The door of Lucas's room was slightly opened,I entered quietly,keeping my head down,I usually did that whenever I wanted to apologize to someone,I raised my head slowly planning to start apology speech but I froze when I saw

I couldn't move,my legs stuck to ground maybe I had muscle cramps,I probably don't think so,my heart beat increased in a very fast rate,I didn't even know when a tear escaped my eyes,the sight made me have the flashback of Jace and Ifeyinwa making out and the thoughts of when my dad cheated on my mother,a migraine was already on its way,they haven't noticed my presence yet,they were still sucking each other's mouth and they were both shirtless.
So you are just gonna stand there and do nothing abi won't you show them why the hell you look like your dad and you have severe anger issues but please don't kill them,only you will go to jail
Standing at the spot,crying a river and watching your two best-friends make out with each other wasn't going to help the situation and I'm not some girl in those teen movies or romantic novels who would catch their boyfriend cheating on them and then run out crying like a baby, girl!You need to teach that boy a lesson.
"Lucas" I said in a low tone.
They both turned swiftly and when they saw me,they had both a shocking and frightful expression on their disgusting faces,I was actually glad they had that look on their faces. Lucas pushed Olivia away and jumped out of the bed and ran towards me
"Babe,listen,please I can explain,I swear"

"What exactly do you want to explain?!The fact that you are shirtless or that you cheated on me with my bestfriend,let me guess you want to tell me she seduced you right?!"I barked in the highest tone ever. My words made Olivia flinch,Lucas came closer and tried to touch me
"Don't fucking touch me,keep your filthy hands to yourself,Lucifer!"
"Babe, please hear me out,it's not what you think"
"Shut up!!Do you think you are talking to a 13 year old?!"
My phone kept making thesame sound it made when I climbed the stairs.

I angrily opened it and the first thing I saw made my anger aggravate more.

I checked the DP of the person who sent the message and it was Joan and what the hell is she saying,I opened the message and I saw 3 attachments,pictures of Joan and Lucas together in his former school and his house,I calmed down and put on a fake smile to act as if I didn't see anything.
"Lucas,where were you on the day of our school dance?"I inquired in a very meek manner.
"I told you before that some...thing ca..me up"He stuttered.
"Like what?What exactly came up?"I asked,looking straight into his brown eyes.
"I had to visit my sick grandparents so I couldn't make it"He lied.
Thank Goodness you lied because you just turned me into a psychopath that I was before
"Okay"
"Trust me,babe,I'm telling the truth"
You know that look you give to a person when you know they are lying and you just pretend to be a moron as if you don't know it's a big lie that was exactly the look I gave him.
"Who is Joan to you?"I questioned,hoping for another lie.
He gulped and rubbed his neck nervously,"Answer me!"I snapped,not able to tolerate the stunt he was pulling.
"Okay,okay,she was my classmate,I told you before"
He gave me exactly what I wanted, another lie,that was enough for me to loose my cool,it didn't take long enough before my sand paper palms made contact with his face.
A look of disbelief was on their faces,Lucas and Olivia,he touched his face with his right hand and stared at it in shock.
"I can't believe my hands had to touch your disgusting despicable face,now my hands are filthy,you think I'm a fool,do you?!I know fully well that Joan is your ex,no!correction,your other girlfriend,look!look at this pictures!"I showed him my phone,I brought the phone very close to his face so he could see it.
"How could you do this to me?This whole time I actually thought you liked or even loved me,you cheated me with Joan and Olivia,why?Lucas why?"I sobbed. "If you liked both of them,why did you ask me out in the first place,you made me fall in love with you and then you crushed me,Jace was right after all,love is a terrible thing,they warned me but I didn't believe them because I trusted you,maybe if you had cheated on me with only Joan,I might have been able to get over it but with Olivia...."I whimpered,tears blocking my vision,making unable to see them both clearly,my head was already banging.
"For God's sake,Michelle,you are overreacting,what we had wasn't even a relationship,what we had was a fling"He said it so casually like it meant nothing to hurt me.
I stared at him in disbelief,I wanted to slap him again but I was too weak to do so,"You disgust me,there is no difference between you and my dad,you are both liars and cheaters"I punched him very hard on his bare chest pushing him away.
"Don't you ever compare me with that fool,you call a father,okay!"He pointed his finger at me in a warning sign. I didn't hesitate before slapping him again on his face,this time harder than the previous time,"How dare you?! How dare you call my father a fool?!Who the heck do you think you are?!What gave you that right to call him names?!Only my family and I can call or even insult him if we want but don't you ever do that or else you will land in coma"I barked,my breath already in a fast pace.
"You know what,you are actually right,I shouldn't compare you with him,he cheated,yes I agree but atleast he didn't cheat on my mum with her bestfriend!"I shot deadly glares at him as he nursed his face.
"Why did you do this to me?!Why?!"
"Because he wanted revenge on Jace"Olivia who has been quiet this whole time finally spoke. We both turned to look at her,"I didn't ask you"I deadpanned. "How does hurting me help in your revenge on Jace?!"
"Because he stole my girlfriend,he left me shattered,I actually forgot about it but when I saw that he was starting to like you,I decided to do the same thing he did to me,I snatched you away from him even before he had the chance to date you"He replied in a cold voice.
"So this whole time,you never liked me,did you ever love me?Did you?!I already know the answer,you don't need to tell me,you should have broken up with me when you got back with Joan,you shouldn't have ignored me for days,I liked you,I argued with everybody who spoke badly of you,you broke me,do you know what they call a guy who has two girlfriends and still tries to sleep with another girl,a player,yes,that's what he is called"
"I'm only talking about Joan because I don't even have the courage to speak of Olivia,I'm not angry at you for this case,I'm actually sad and pissed off at my bestfriend, Olivia for doing this to me"
I took my eyes off Lucas and faced Olivia's direction"We have been best-friends for 4 years,I was always there for you,I fought those bullies for you when you newly came to our school,I trusted you so much,more than anything,I took you as a sister from another mother but what did I get in return? Betrayal,yes betrayal and I'm not going to ask you why you did it because I know,just like Lucas,you also wanted to have revenge on me,isn't that right,you thought I knew about my brother cheating on you and I kept quiet about it but the truth was he didn't even do anything like that,you misunderstood the whole situation,you cut me off so easily,I tried every means to ask for your forgiveness,I even told Lucas to beg on my behalf,when the maid told me you were around,I came running so I could ask for your forgiveness even though I didn't do anything but...I'm not actually surprised,I mean what do you expect when you actually keep a snake as a pet,it will eventually kill you,that is what you are Olivia,you are a snake"I bawled as tears kept running,my eyes must obviously be red because of my crying.
"If I hadn't walked in earlier, you both would have had sex, if I hadn't come here today, you,Lucas would have continued toying with my feelings,glad thing I did,I would never forget this day and next time,if you want to commit an abominable act,don't forget to shut the door,both of you stay the hell away from me,if I see you close to me,I will murder you"I turned swiftly and walked out,crying bitterly.
Lucas's POV
Her words pierced my heart,I can't believe I actually did this to a girl,I lost my bestfriend today,I broke her,I know the moment her brother sees her in that state,it won't take long enough before he and his bestfriend come after my life,I had to do something,I know begging for forgiveness was a stupid thing to do right now, nobody would be able to forgive,I won't even forgive if someone did this to me,I ran after her immediately after putting on a shirt.
"Michelle!"I called her name as I ran out of my room,she ran immediately she saw I was behind her.
I increased my pace but she was too fast,when she got to the stairs,I walked very fast,"I told you to stay the hell away from me"She screamed as she looked behind again.
She didn't look at her next step as she continued looking at me,she lost balance and fell down rolling down the stairs.
"Arrgh!!"
I froze on the spot,Olivia who had also been running after the two of us got to where I was and she also stood there shocked,I watched as she kept rolling,her body hitting those sharp edges of the tiled stairs,we immediately got our senses and went after her,I didn't mind falling as well,I rushed down the stairs
"Michelle!"I shooked her body as soon I got down. "Oh my God,is she dead?!"Olivia's voice quaked in fear. "No,she isn't, she's unconscious but we have to rush her to the hospital, she's bleeding"
"Where are your keys,let me go get them"
"In my drawer"I replied,not taking my eyes off Michelle.
In about 2 minutes,she was already back with the keys,good thing all the workers were busy so they didn't dare to come out,I carried her in bridal style to my car, Olivia following behind,making the sign of the cross and holding her shirt tight.
Michelle,please don't die, please
My hands were already stained of blood,this wasn't the time to be scared,we hopped into the car after dropping Michelle in a comfortable position at the back seat,I drove out of the compound and out of the estate in a fast speed.
Which hospital?! I'm clearly not taking her to her mother's working place,she would kill me,please Lord,let there be no traffic whatsoever
I thought of alot of things,she could die in this car,she could have internal bleeding,she might even have brain injury,those thoughts made me drive even faster as if I was in a car race,if I was a pedestrian I would probably insult the driver for driving so recklessly in a fast speed for that moment.
"Jesus!Lucas,please slow down,you are going to get us killed"
"Just shut up,okay!You are the cause of this and yes,if Michelle happens to die in this car,we are both going to join her because we will be the reason for her death"
"Please,slow down,please"She appealed,touching my thighs.
"Don't fucking touch me,is either you shut up or you get out of this car,I don't care how fast I drive but she can't die"She went silent immediately and did another sign of the cross,I rolled my eyes in anger and disgust.
I have become a terrible person
I drove into a Government hospital that was different from the one that Michelle's mum worked,I parked the car and rushed out,carrying her into the hospital,Olivia ran ahead of me inside the hospital to call the nurses,I could hear her scream in a high pitched voice,it didn't take a minute before they came running towards us with a stretcher bed and an oxygen storage tank on a stand,they kept Michelle on it and rolled her in,the oxygen mask on her nose.
