Catastrophe Containment Facility Chapter 1145

Walking a certain distance along the road, Wen Wen couldn't help but frown continuously. The style of this city was really as strange as can be. Some areas were highly modernized, streets were clean and facilities complete, and the people living there seemed wealthier than in other cities, while other areas were more rudimentary than the poorest villages. It's hard to understand how people here endure it. This unique social structure is due to tradition and also because of the gap in wealth. At this stage, it's still difficult to change the city's status quo, but once the New Human Project is fully implemented, the original social order will be disrupted, and at least the current scenario in this city shouldn't recur. At the Hunter Association in Doxinlide City, Moyadi was fiercely debating with a woman dressed eccentrically. Moyadi wore a turban, with a motorcycle parked behind him, and the woman was dressed in colorful linen clothes, her ears, eyelids, nose, and lips all pierced with big rings. She was the Dream Speaker, Mefna. One argued that an Illusion Technique caused the mass coma incident, while the other believed the problem lay within the dreams of those people. The two were each adamant about their opinions, unable to persuade one another. However, they both admitted that solving this issue was beyond their capabilities, and their theories had some loopholes. When Wen Wen arrived, the two were still debating, and Wen Wen did not disturb them. In this matter, they were the experts; although his power was significant, his understanding of the situation might not surpass theirs. It wasn't until late at night that the two still hadn't found any conclusions and dispersed to conduct their own research. Initially, Wen Wen wasn't sleepy, but after listening to these two ramble all day, he did feel a bit drowsy and thought about finding a place nearby to take a nap. But just as he was about to close his eyes, he suddenly sensed a mysterious aura. Wen Wen flew out from the window and traveled a distance towards the city center, eventually spotting a masked figure hovering in mid-air. Upon seeing Wen Wen, the man nodded at him and then continued to attend to his own matters. After watching for a while, Wen Wen noticed that he was manipulating fine sand, which swept across the entire city with a gentle breeze, eventually gathering back into his hands. Having searched the entire city without finding what he wanted, the man sighed deeply, and then his whole being transformed into a gust of yellow sand, disappearing into the night sky. Wen Wen gazed at the spot where the man vanished, falling into deep thought. He knew who this suddenly appearing figure was. He was the Judicator of the Aifei Region, code-named 'Sand Sea Priest', reportedly once a High Priest of a certain Aifei region country centuries ago, with the power to manipulate sand. Wen Wen hadn't disclosed his identity as a Black Cross operative, so the Sand Sea Priest just assumed Wen Wen was an ordinary True Order Demon Hunter. "He's the Judicator from the Aifei Region; what's he seeking by coming to the U.S.-Canada District instead of staying put in the Aifei Region..." "Whatever would make a Judicator search personally can't be a minor issue. The recent major event in the Aifei Region should only be one: a few months ago, a pyramid exploded, and a sealed mysterious entity suspected to be Catastrophe Level escaped!" "The abilities of that mysterious Catastrophe Level entity are unknown, its appearance is unknown, everything is a mystery. Might this coma incident I've been investigating be related to that Catastrophe Level being?" Thɪs chapter is updated by NoveI~Fire.net Wen Wen ruffled his hair and again requested documentation on the mysterious Catastrophe from the Black Night Knight, hoping to find some clues within it. He had investigated many cases, most of them had traces to follow and unravel, but he truly had no leads in this coma case. The materials given to Wen Wen by the Black Night Knight only contained a few mural paintings. The content of these mural paintings was rather esoteric and difficult to understand. Wen Wen couldn't comprehend them at all. Fortunately, there was a translation provided by the Hunter Association below, allowing him to grasp the mural's content. The mural essentially depicted that in the former Aifei Region, there was a king who revered punishment, and he made the entire nation worship a cruel Deity. This Deity's greatest enjoyment was to throw innocents into the 'Hell' he created, where people endured endless torment. Those who emerged from 'Hell' all appeared transformed, as if they had become completely different individuals. The entire nation's populace lived in fear until they could no longer endure it, eventually uniting to overthrow the king's reign. They cooperated with other Deities to then seal away that cruel Deity, releasing all people from 'Hell', leading to a happy ending... The content was merely a condensed translation and couldn't fully express the mural's meaning. After all, the mural was very ancient, so much so that some languages on it had completely disappeared into the river of history. Wen Wen pondered for a long time, but couldn't connect the mural with the coma incident and could only return disappointed to the Hunter Association's base. After returning, Wen Wen waited for a few more days. During these days, no clues were obtained, and new people were falling into a coma daily, evenly distributed across every state in the U.S.-Canada District, making it impossible for Wen Wen to analyze based on the distribution of numbers. Additionally, Wen Wen thoroughly searched the city but didn't find the mysterious young man Tao Qingqing mentioned. Wen Wen guessed that the fellow had long left the city, and if not for the most knowledgeable two on the coma case being in Doxinlide, Wen Wen would have already gone to other cities to search for clues. The only gain was that Wen Wen discovered all the people who fell into a coma weren't really 'good people'. This, of course, wasn't to say that someone specifically targeted bad people, but rather that those in a coma had personality defects. Some were gamblers, some gluttonous, some had a pathological obsession with environmental protection, some spouted nonsense, and some were insatiable. So ordinary people with no obvious strengths or weaknesses typically weren't affected by this mysterious coma. No wonder even the Black Night Knight couldn't find any clues; this case truly was baffling. The turning point came on the seventh day; on this day, Wen Wen grew tired of eating Moyadi's curry rice, so he went out to seek other cuisines. The local Hunter Association only provided curry mush and pancakes, and Moyadi, in addition to studying the case, enjoyed making curry himself. Even though his curry was exquisite, Wen Wen was sick of it after several consecutive days. Unfortunately, although this city was in the U.S.-Canada District, it had traits more characteristic of cities in the Yingua District, making it difficult to find food unrelated to curry mush. With persistence, Wen Wen finally found a restaurant specializing in Aifei Region cuisine, owned by an African with dark skin. Wen Wen ordered two portions of hummus, three roasted pigeons, and a roasted lamb leg. Taking a bite out of the lamb leg, juices flowed out, and Wen Wen's face brimmed with happiness. The past few days fretting over the coma case left him without a decent meal. While eating, Wen Wen noticed something odd about the owner's condition. His forehead was dark, his eye circles were black, and even though he was originally black-skinned, this condition was undeniably unusual.
