Catastrophe Containment Facility Chapter 1011

Chapter 1011: Chapter 1013: Nighttime Encounters on the Way Home The scarlet breath was injected into Wen Wen’s body, making his originally dumbfounded expression gradually become strange. The frenzy has the effect of eroding rationality, and mixed with the mentally challenged attributes of the curly-haired gorilla and the power of sorrow, it ironically restored some intelligence to Wen Wen. This Staff of Frenzy was something Wen Wen deliberately brought with him. He feared that being in a curly-haired gorilla state might make him too mentally challenged and delay the task, so he thought that going a little mad would help him carry out the mission better. But unexpectedly, Wen Wen, who had transformed into the curly-haired gorilla physique, actually forgot about the Staff of Frenzy. Fortunately, by mistake, he still managed to inject the frenzy into his body; otherwise, Wen Wen might have sat idly for a very long time before remembering he still had things to do. However, under the influence of the frenzy, Wen Wen didn’t immediately capture the old bear but took out a razor and shaved the old bear into Emperor Weitu’s hairstyle—a ‘micro-bald’ state—and only after that did he put it away. Then Wen Wen immediately changed his physique, dispelling the frenzy, and sat still for a while until he returned to a normal state. “Next time I use the curly-haired gorilla physique, I should establish a complete supervision system, or else there’s no telling what absurd things this physique might make me do.” Wen Wen sniffed his fingers again, and his face turned extremely disdainful, feeling ashamed that he made such an unbecoming gesture in front of others. He then looked at the Staff of Frenzy, grateful that the staff’s head had been cleaned earlier and that he hadn’t used it for any unspeakable actions, otherwise those things would have ended up in his mouth. After capturing the old bear, the force of emotional agitation around the area also dissipated into nothingness. Yet, Klim and Boyeve were still not recovered. Due to Wen Wen not putting the old bear away immediately after the beatdown, the emotional force lingered too long, plunging them into deep sorrow. Wen Wen circled around the two of them several times, discovering that their postures were wretched and expressions vibrant, while muttering things only understood by themselves. So, Wen Wen brought out a camera from the sanctuary, recorded a segment for each of them, and uploaded them to the Ranger Terminal for safekeeping. He then snapped his fingers, and a stream as thick as his wrist gushed from his palm, spraying water onto Klim and Boyeve’s faces. This kind of weather, the cold water stimulus made them wake up immediately. After coming to their senses, they cautiously walked to the entrance of the dilapidated yard, seeing the old bear had vanished, and simultaneously breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed Wen Wen had handled that old bear, and they wouldn’t have to endure the Power of Sorrow again tonight. Just two experiences from tonight would leave them sleepless for days to come. However, they were also curious about how Wen Wen captured that old bear. Could becoming mentally challenged really resist the old bear’s emotional force? That old bear was the only one; no other similar monsters existed to verify their hypothesis. But even if there were a chance, they wouldn’t try to confirm; just by Wen Wen’s previous mentally challenged appearance, they’d be laughed at if the rumors spread. It’s a pity there was no recording at the time; telling people about it wouldn’t be believed. Seeing the two of them looking at him with weird expressions, Wen Wen snorted coldly, pulled out the Ranger Terminal, and played the two videos in front of them one by one. After watching the videos, Boyeve’s expression changed dramatically. Klim sternly said, “Letting you in was already helping you. Are you intending to blackmail us with this?” Wen Wen shook his head and, in front of them, deleted the two videos. “I’ll pretend I didn’t see your predicament, and you better also pretend you never saw what I was like before. It’s best if the scene when we captured that old bear stays among the three of us, otherwise it won’t just be me losing face.” “Well said, well said, heaven knows, earth knows, you know, I know, he knows…” Boyeve and Klim chuckled foolishly, quite content with the mutual secrecy. The three gathered together, concocting another version of the story where all three were iron-blooded tough guys. In the face of various tests, they remained unfazed, not influenced by emotional force, and ultimately subdued the old bear, solving the great scourge of the Polar Bear Forbidden Palace. Even in the future, a piece titled “Three Heroes Outwit the Remnants of the Former Dynasty” was performed at Klim Theater. However, due to the woeful playwright, it only got staged once and never again… Wen Wen gave a few cows as snacks to Klim’s polar bear and bought a box labeled ‘tea’ for Boyeve as a gift, then left the Polar Bear Forbidden Palace, heading back to the hotel the travel group rented. Of course, he gave Boyeve not only ‘tea’ comparable to alcohol but also a batch of Custodial Points for helping find the monster representing ‘sorrow.’ After capturing the old bear, all seven monsters and materials needed for Wen Wen’s ritual were gathered. Now he just needed to wait for the last stop of the trip to end to head to a nearby location to conduct the ritual, resolving a major hidden danger—remnants of the Nameless King Singer’s soul! So, for the next few days, Wen Wen could enjoy himself and relish this hard-won vacation time. It was already late at night; most people in the hotel were asleep. Only a room on the fourth floor still had its light on. It was Wen Wen’s room; he had intentionally left the light on when he went out. After contemplating, Wen Wen thought it would be better not to return normally to avoid disturbing others, so he stealthily climbed back to his room like a spider along the wall. Don’t ask why he didn’t take the usual path; it’s because he’s no ordinary person. Halfway up, Wen Wen subconsciously glanced at a room on the third floor. After seeing the scene inside, he couldn’t help but frown. Inside the room, the occupants were not sleeping. There weren’t just one; there were five—two women and three men. Don’t get the wrong idea; they weren’t up to anything in a group. Rather, they were kneeling beside the living room, with a Creation Church canon placed in the middle, quietly chanting to it. “What are they doing…” The Creation Church is the largest religion within the Federation, so it’s not surprising that many Demon Hunters believe in it. The strange part was why they chose to gather secretly at midnight to read the canon? There was a small chapel nearby; why not go there? The more Wen Wen observed, the stranger he found it. Perhaps they were conducting some evil ritual, or maybe the Demon Hunters were under some influence. Thus, he stayed by the window, keeping a close watch, hoping to find some evidence of their dubious activities.
