Zara paced in front of kenzo biting her nails as she paced. They were back to his office. He was seated with Aziel cleaning the small scratch on his skin. Zara continue pacing, Sambas had gone with Elina. Taking her back to her room.
“Stop pacing Zara!”
She stopped and stood in front of him.
“What was that about?”
“Can you drop it.”
“Aziel Leave us for a minute.”
Aziel nodded taking the kit with him out of the office and shut the door behind him.
“Go and tell me, what was that about?”
“Training.”
“Training?” She laughed.
“I’m really that stupid huh?”
“I’ve already told you, can we talk about why you’re here, we ain’t supposed to see until the evening, so what brings you here?”
“That’s it now isn’t?”
“I don’t have time for this.”
He stood up, pulling off his shirt. Putting a new one on.
Zara bite her nails. And cussed inwardly.
As far as she’s not a threat she could let it slide. She walked over to him and hugged him. From behind.
“I’m sorry, I don’t want anyone to get close to you. You know am putting a lot at risk to stand by your side. I shouldn’t risk my life for nothing, it wouldn’t be fair wouldn’t? Even if you don’t love me yet, you should at least respect me. I don’t ask for much.”
He pulled her hands off him, and turned around to face her.
“She’s a worker here, we need more hands to help for the upcoming elections. And besides she helped in Hazard case.”
“The girl that was shot?”
He nodded.
He doesn’t want to recall the incident of how she had pushed him off the way and got hit in his stead. How silly of her to do that.
“I’m sorry. I acted irrational.”
She hugged him. As far as she was his, there wasn’t any need to worry. She could hug him and kiss him and make out.
She was content.
She disengage from the hug.
“We should fix a date for the wedding.” She grinned.
“Yeah.”
“I think 24th would be perfect, it’s my birthday, we could do it on that day, it’s gonna be great, awesome.” She grinned wider.
“What do you think?”
“Let’s go with it.”
“24th right?”
“Yeah.”
“You’re darling.” She kissed his cheeks, took her handbag.
“Where are you going?”
“To check out the wedding dress with a friend.”
“We have a date tonight.”
“I would be there, just call me, I’ll be right there.”
“I thought you wanted us to go together.”
“Change of plan.”
“Right now, I going to check out the dress, the cakes I want it huge and magnificent. Oh my gawd! I’m getting married to Kenzo.” She twirled around dramatically.
“See You tonight.” She waved and hurried out. Just a while ago she was so pissed and annoyed and now she’s happy, change mood swings in just a second, women, he just can’t understand them no matter what.
“You’re getting married to her, on the 24th?”
“Were you eavesdropping on me Aziel.”
“No sir, I just heard, she was way too loud. I couldn't help but hear what she said. Is that even possible, getting married,
do you have to go that far.”
“As far as I win the election, nothing else matters he stare at the pictures on the wall.
Ariel followed his gaze, down to the portrait.
“What to investigate?”
“The test results would be out today, then we can know the next step..”
“Is getting married the only way, it can't be possible you getting married toZara.”
“I’ve to, if I would win. Everyone on Zara and her father side will come to me..”
“I understand now sir.”
“Make the date public, this month, 24th. Our wedding, and after than a week to the election, which I must win. The only way I can get my revenge.”
Ariel nodded and step aside.
“Get prepared for tonight, and bring Elina along.”
Aziel blinked. What Elina gonna do there, he wanted to ask but choose not to, well it would be ok, since she's gonna keep them company, if Elina is coming, then Sambas would tag along as well.
“I’m sorry I'm late.” Ezra said opening the door. And enters, he pulled his coat off his body, putting them on the rack.
“I heard to attend to a lot of people today, I was so occupied. I was running up down the hospital, I thought I was the only one in the building..you couldn't imagine what happened today...”
“Where is the test results.”
“Oh, the test result, hope I didn't forget it at the office.”
“Aziel!”
“There it is.”
He brought it out from his pocket, he had know too well that when he uses that tone. He meant business, he would have probably asked Aziel to shot him. Kenzo can be really nasty at times.
“Should I go and check on her?”
“Are you done here? What does it says?” he only said that to get an escape from here? The look in his eyes weren't so good. It scares him.
“Its negative, you're not the biological son of chief Brennon.”
He said it, Aziel opened the paper to see for himself. He read it.
It was true.
He wasn’t the son of Brennon. But why does he feel something was wrong, there was more it to, than he not being his son.
We're they hiding something from him.
“I should probably go check on her.” Aziel gave him a go ahead. Ezra hurried out of the room.
Kenzo sat down, bringing his knee together.
“It all makes sense now, isn’t?”
Aziel nodded.
“And I would find out everything about my past, and I won’t spare him for it. I’ll make him pay for everything he did.”
“What do you want me to do?”
“Nothing for now. I’ll call you when I need you. You should leave.”
“Sir!”
“Aziel, now.”
He knew better than to leave him when he said so, so he left, when he never wanted to.
Kenzo stood up and approached the frame. It was a small picture crumpled and wore out. Mrs Brennon gave it to him, the night before he left the mansion.
She wanted him to know, wanted him to find out himself that they weren’t his parents.
Reasons she gave him the picture.
Why did he took so long to find out?
Who they really were?
Who was his own parents, what were they like, should he find out or should he not? Just pretend non of this happened and go on with his life without having them involved.
He stare at him. And sighed.
He need to win, he had been preparing al his life for the election, and he would do everything he’s got to win.
Everything at all.
