He sat on his desk before attending to the man who rung the bell. Soon he opened up the door to see Amber patting her hair back in place. Alex wanted to pat it, but he refrained from doing such things, then again to contradict his own actions. Alex watched her for several minutes before she turned to him and shyly gestured if she could go out. He moved out of the way and she grabbed her purse and laptop bag.
"I will pick you up tomorrow. At seven, be ready"
She nodded before running out, not before running to his desk and grabbing his daily meetings board to schedule it for him. Alex chuckled looking down before realising what he was doing and going back to work.

I bite my lip as I see the men he brought take my stuff to the bedroom.
"Are you going to the club today?" I nodded. "Ya, I'll leave by seven" He stared at his phone. "I'll drop you. Come down at seven I'll wait for you"
"Oh-You don't have to" He glanced at me and his eyes shifted behind me. "You can leave now"
His tone of voice changed for a second as the men nodded, I lick my lips staring at him as he watched them leave. He stared at his phone then looked at me, "I am going there anyway, I gotta go. Call me if you need anything" I nodded.
"Thanks, Bye," I said as he nodded walking out, He did too much for me. I didn't know how I could repay him other than paying for the place.
I got my bag ready after setting up my sheets and pillows on the bed and doing some laundry, I was about to finish my makeup the doorbell rang, I flinch but sigh hating myself to be so scared every time someone knocks on the door or rings the bell.
I look through the peephole and see Kaden, biting my lip and opening the door I greet him. "Hello. I'll get my bag", "Ya sure" He said waiting by the door.
I wondered if I should ask him to come in but there was no point in it. I occasionally wondered how I was so relaxed with a guy like him. How come I trusted him so much. People have helped me before him. But I was never so lenient, Something about made me feel protected.
I get down and see a different car. It was so, expensive looking. I didn't understand much about cars but this was a sports one. I guess.
"Oh, A new car?" I asked suddenly surprised as he opened the door for me. My nervous radar heightening up crazy. I gave him a stuttered chuckle and thank him.
"Ya, I don't use it often," He said closing the door and getting it.
"Is everything going okay? Do you have any issues living there?" He asked me after we stayed quite half the ride. I glance at him and gave a simple smile, "Oh, no, I don't, It's all fine" He nodded. It only took us ten minutes to get there. The place was closer to both my jobs. and I was so thankful I had him give me that place.
I was still uncomfortable living alone, scared. But It was more than I could ask for.
"Girl, I heard Kaden brought you here in his car?" I blink at Ava and look at Carrie. "Yep, I saw him bringing her in his sports car," Coby said coming in and handing Carried the cash some other girl got over the floor.
"He just picked me up cause he was nearby" I explain. "Since when did Kaden started helping people?" Everyone chuckled as Carried stated making me crack up.
"Oh but he never lets anyone sit in that car. Just saying. Even his best friend, Me" Coby said making me laugh, "I am happy you are starting to have more friends here sweetie" Carried said taking out some things for us girls and I smile.
I was late already when I got there. So as soon as I got ready we had a rush hour.
It was my second dance and we had some new people in. I didn't see my regular customers yet. I went over to the bar to get a drink while looking around.
"What have you decided? Las Vegas? With us? Next month? " I take a sip of my lemonade and hum. "I don't know Ava, but Ya, I would love to," I said. She gave me a cheeky smile.
"Cool, I'll give ya the dates," She said walking to the back door.
"It's not safe" I gasp turning my head back and seeing a guy. He wasn't one of the staff, I gulp smiling and getting off the chair. "Hey, I am sorry I scared you, I am Aiden. I manage the finance of the club" I nodded taking his hand and shaking it, "Hello" He smiled.
"You are new?", "Ya, I joined some months ago" He nodded taking a sip of his drink. "I know everyone here, we all go way back except for some who come and leave occasionally. Your name?"
"Rose," I said taking a step back wanting to leave. He didn't creep me out, He was okay. I just never became good at talking to strangers or new people. It made me nervous. The people I talk to, I had seen multiple times. Worked with them. But people who randomly came in , I never really got the nerves to talk to them in a better way.
"Rose, that's a nice name" I nodded, "How do you like it here?" I lick my lip resting my hands on the countertop. "It's good," I said. "Oh, I am happy you like it. We might do some remodeling, In a month or so-" His eyes turned to something behind me. As he stood up and stared. I frown look back and suddenly Kaden was behind me.
Too close. I could feel his chest pressed lightly on my back.
"Back in the city so soon Aiden?" He smiled. It wasn't a nice one. I could see. Cause I always did that. "Rose, Carrie is looking for you" I nodded walking to the back room and I turned to look at them too . But didn't give it any second thought.
I had received my cash and I take my bag saying goodbye to Carrie and thinking about grabbing some food from the local mart.
I saw Kaden and Coby talking by a distance as I leave the club, "Good night Rose" I smiled. "Night Logan" I reply to the guard. I felt Kaden's eyes on me. As I made my way out to the road but I didn't wanna bother him or Coby. Nor did I want any rides from him anymore.
I had been too much of a hassle for him. And If he helped me any longer I feared I could get attached to his helping hand.
"Rose!" I closed my eyes. I wasn't wearing my earphones. I could've acted like I couldn't hear him. But that sudden need to ignore him came over me. I didn't want help from him .
I feared I might-
"Rose" I sigh looking back and seeing Kaden asking me to go towards him and Coby with is hand. I bite my lip walking over to them, "Hey. Why would you leave alone. You don't need to leave alone if you see one of us still her"
"I really don't need a ride. The place is ten minutes away. Plus I-"
"Get in the car ," Kaden said cutting me off. "I-I am fine really" He looked at me, now his eyes lifted off his phone. "Get in the car Rose. We'll drop you off" I blinked once. He didn't seem nice like before.
This time he had his usual car. I got in the back as Coby sat beside him. They talked about things I didn't understand. So I looked out the window.
"Did you eat?" Kaden asked. "Um- I am gonna buy something at the mart nearby" There was a rough turn he took leading away from the apartment, For a minute scaring me.
But we stopped at a pizza place. I was confused why they both were even considering taking me here. I just felt like I was using them now.
Kaden opened the door for me, His hand lightly pressed over the back of my waist as I entered. My skin already getting goosebumps.
