Lake wiped down once more and went off to find another of his mate’s shirt, not caring that he left them all smelling like milk, still huffy with Davian.
He made his way back to the bed and pushed his mate from the edge, waking him up without meaning to. Davian had faint dark circles under his eyes, and it came from the Alpha insisting on doing every single thing for him and filling up his days with so many tasks that he barely got the time to sleep properly.
Davian stared at him for a good long while, the Alpha not immediately bombarding him with questions about his well being, it made Lake a little worried. He was hovering over Davian, doing a not so great job of pulling him back onto the bed.
Davian moved silently, taking him with him. Lake let out a muffled sound of surprise when Davian pulled him into his arms, the Alpha holding him close.
It wasn’t comfortable but Lake didn’t try to pull away, he did miss being held by his Alpha , although... "I’ll get you wet with milk," He mumbled sheepishly.
Davian loosened his hold to get a good look at him, an unfamiliar dark look in his eyes like he wasn’t quite fully awake yet. Davian ducked his head and gentle bit a nipple through the shirt Lake wore, making the Omega gasp sharply.
"I don’t mind," Davian hummed, tucking his face in Lake’s neck. "We’ll take a shower together later."
Lake’s chest was throbbing, the pleasure burning all the way to his fingertips but Davian was already fast asleep again, leaving him all alone with the aftermath.
He couldn’t even be upset because a few minutes later his eyes were getting heavy, his mate’s familiar scent of dark chocolate lulling him right to sleep.
Davian was the first to wake up a few hours later, he woke up with a start, having no plans to have slept for so long. He was even more surprised to find Lake in his arms, his grip around the sleeping Omega unrelenting.
He knew that Lake had been sleeping with some distance between them recently because his chest felt sore, he understood it but he felt the impact regardless. Even though his mate was right on the bed with him, Davian had a difficult time sleeping.
Part of that had to do with the scent of milk that clung to Lake’s skin. His self-control was great, to the point of being self-damaging, but he could feel his control cracking as the days went by.
He could feel the dampness even through the loose tank top he wore, it made him hastily untangle himself from his sleeping mate and put some distance between them. Whatever would stop him from taking a bite out of his pregnant Omega like he really wanted to.
The scent of honey and milk was like a drug, one he wanted to overdose on.
Lake squirmed in discomfort as soon as he put distance between them, soft brown eyes opening, a look of slight disapproval on his face, which was still soft with sleep, softening the expression.
The expression fell off Lake’s face when he was fully awake, looking up to see Davian backing away from him like he was contagious. "What are you doing?" He asked curiously.
Davian swallowed thickly and looked away, stepping off the bed. "It’s getting late, I wanted to get started on breakfast."
Lake sat up and went right after him, ignoring the fact that he had stained another shirt. "You said we would shower together when we woke up," He reminded, petulant.
Davian didn’t remember saying that but he knew that Lake wouldn’t lie about that. He was now wary of what else he had done or said while he was half-asleep that he couldn’t remember.
He scrambled his brains for the perfect excuse to avoid a shower together, not at all worried about his mate’s advances but about himself. "Let’s clean up then." He sealed his fate.
Lake impatiently took off his shirt after getting off the bed, frustration coloring his actions. "I can’t wait for the nipple pads to get here..."
Davian zeroed in on this perfect opportunity to delay the inevitable. "They might be here already, I’ll go check."
Lake lifted his head, his mood improving at those words, "They might," He agreed, pleased. "Let’s go check together."
Davian grit his teeth and cursed mentally, he had shot himself in the foot instead. "You should wear a shirt so you don’t catch a cold," He suggested with a strained voice.
Lake glanced down at himself, and saw a pearly drop of milk hanging off one puffy nipple. His face soured, thumbing at it so it didn’t drop to the carpet. "The sun is out, I’ll be fine." He turned down the suggestion, starting for the door. "I hope the pads are here, I don’t want to ruin anymore of your shirts."
Davian really didn’t mind if he did, as a matter of fact, he would buy more shirts just for him to ruin them, but Lake had run out of patience.

He spread his legs when Davian leaned in for a kiss, making space for the Alpha to get even closer to him, his hands going around his neck as he sank into the kiss that was as heated as the sun on his skin.
