"Did you go to cook breakfast?" Lake asked, his hair was wild although he had brushed it before bed.
"Yeah," Davian cleared his throat to say, "Clean up so we can eat before it cools."
That sent Lake off much to his relief, and without even looking down Davian knew there was another tent in his pants.
He was going to be in deep shit if he got hard every time he looked at Lake’s face, he needed some self-control.
A short while later, they were in the kitchen eating breakfast, and Davian had devised a perfect plan. As long as he didn’t look Lake in the eyes, he wasn’t reminded of his sketchy dream.
Lake was too busy reviewing all they had to do that day to notice Davian actively avoiding his face, and by the time they got to the company, there was too much that required Lake’s attention.
Davian heaved a sigh of relief as they headed right for the event center where the store chain opening was happening. He had survived the first half, he just had to do it again, and then he would go to his cooking class.
He practically did nothing but shadow Lake at the product launch, and soon people learned to not approach him for anything and went to Lake instead.
For the first time, Davian felt brief pangs of regret for insisting on remaining at Lake’s side at all times, it meant that he couldn’t escape the sight of the Omega.
He was currently driving Lake and Rosie to the opening event, both Omegas in the back seat discussing things that Davian didn’t pay much attention to.
His libido had never been an issue because it had been numb just like the rest of him, he worked himself till he dropped day after day, there was simply no time...
Now he had nothing but time, Lake had set up a spectacular system to handle the brutal workload he had been dealing with this entire time, and was now handling it with ease.
He had no complaints about how Lake was running his companies, as well as the Mafia House... His dick had some complaints though... about Lake’s face.
Davian caught a glimpse of that pretty face through the rearview mirror and immediately snapped his attention to the road.
He just needed more of a distraction...
The opening event was even more of a bustle than the product launch had been, with news stations covering the event.
It meant that Davian was separated from Lake, but he didn’t mind, finding a perfect corner to constantly keep an eye on him.
It wasn’t just him, there were several men with their eyes trained on Lake to move to protect him at the slightest altercation.
Lake was blissfully unaware of all of this, effortlessly socializing and giving the necessary speeches. It was like he was born to do this, no one even batted an eye at the fact that he was a pregnant Omega.
Davian got lost in his thoughts watching Lake so he was startled when the Omega suddenly showed up in front of him.
He panicked, his gray eyes darting around to avoid looking at Lake’s face. "Did you need something?"
Lake noticed this odd reaction with amusement, he had noticed when Davian had stopped following him around, but he didn’t mind because the Alpha didn’t need to.
"Yeah, it’s time for lunch." He said with a smile.
Davian straightened up and cleared his throat, "What do you want?" He immediately asked, eager to get Lake whatever he wanted.
"For you to take me home," Lake sighed.
"The product launch..."
"Is practically over," Lake stretched, "We can leave early, I’m a little tired."
That was Davian’s cue to lead the way to the car.
"Rosie already left for FluxCorp," Lake let him know as he opened the passenger door for him.
They had a board meeting the next day, and as excited as Lake was about everything, his body simply couldn’t keep up, he needed to take a break.
There was barely enough time to eat lunch and take a quick nap before driving Davian to cooking school but he would do it somehow.
So after lunch, he got to his feet. "I want to take a quick nap. Wake me up when it’s time for your cooking classes."
Davian watched him yawn for the umpteenth time as he drifted out of the kitchen in a silk dress shirt and the scent of citrus.
He felt bad at how much Lake had exerted himself, but lunch had been hellish. It felt like every single move Lake did went right to his dick.
He ignored it like he always did, getting up to clear the counter and do the dishes.
Lake had told him to wake him up, but if the Omega was still asleep, he would just drive himself.
He would prefer it if Lake didn’t bump into Clint again, so this worked out perfectly.
An hour and a half later he was making his way over to the cooking school. He had left a note for Lake, the Omega needed as much rest as he could get. The rest of the week was going to be much like today.
The sight of Clint clearly looking for Lake was enough to douse his arousal, Caspian being his chatty self and the task of cooking was enough to keep his straying thoughts at bay.
Clint Ryder really looked like he wanted to walk over and ask him about Lake but he thought better of it.
The cooking class went on without hitches, and he had a feeling that it was because Asher hadn’t shown up today.
Caspian had come in the company of his two bodyguards who had hung out in the parking lot to avoid him.
"Is Lake alright?" Caspian turned to him as a blender went off in the background.
"Just tired, I let him sleep. He’ll be here tomorrow." He reassured the delicate Omega.
He got along well with Caspian, the Omega liked to talk and he was fine with listening.
