"You really overestimate my capabilities, Mafia King Asher," Lake said lightly, "I don’t think I could convince Davian to do anything."
But even as he said that, it was clear that he didn’t believe his own words.
"Right," Asher said flatly clearly not believing him either.
"Asher," Caspian barged into their conversation, "Can I sign up for a cooking class?" He asked with doe eyes.
"You say that like I can stop you," Asher muttered, pushing a hand through his hair.
Caspian beamed and darted back to Davian’s side, "You said that you’re going to a class this evening? Can I come along?"
Lake didn’t even mind that his friend had ditched him to talk about cooking with Davian, it was something they both loved to do, and it was comforting to watch them.
"I didn’t make you breakfast," Davian said flatly as he served up the meal, pointing at Asher with a serving spoon.
"I’d be more worried if you did," Asher tossed back without blinking an eye, rising to his feet. "Have you got something to drink around here?" He asked instead, going snooping through the cabinets.
"Yeah, hot chocolate," The dark-haired Alpha said bluntly, putting out a plate for Asher despite his previous words. "Sit your ass back down, there’s no alcohol."
Even if there was, he wasn’t going to let the Alpha have that for breakfast, not when he was trying to get on his good side.
Asher paused, eyeing Davian up skeptically. He wasn’t necessarily on bad terms with the other Mafia King but they weren’t exactly chummy with each other either.
And maybe it was because he was now mated but he didn’t mind this change, taking the seat offered.
While they had breakfast, Caspian easily carried the conversation, having so much to say about cooking.
When breakfast was over, Davian turned down everyone’s help to clean up after.

Caspian popped back out from behind the pillow, "Is a month enough to prepare?"
Lake thought about it, it would be enough with how wealthy Caspian’s mate was. "It should be. We’ve got a lot to do though, we need to decide on the theme, choose the venue, make a guest list..."
He sounded just as excited as Caspian got when the other Omega spoke about cooking.
"Are you sure you’ll be able to handle all of the planning?" Caspian asked with concern.
For the first time Lake hesitated, and it wasn’t because he was pregnant.

Caspian turned to give his friend a knowing look, he didn’t bring up Lake’s relationship with Davian because he knew the circumstances around what brought them together, but he could exactly ignore this.
"Davian got them?" He repeated, blue eyes sparkling.
Lake avoided his friend’s searching eyes, "Yes, so you can take this one, I’ve got so many."
Caspian didn’t push, Davian seemed to genuinely care for Lake. It would be really nice if they both ended up together, especially for the baby.
"Thank you," He took the offered hair accessory, going over to Lake’s dresser to try it on. "By the way, how did the festival go?"
Caspian’s question reminded Lake of just how much of a mess the festival had been. It had some good parts but it also had a lot of hair-raising parts.
"It was fine but I bumped into an heiress who said she was looking for Davian," He self-reported.
