Caspian had no idea where he was going, he just planned to follow the women until he was far away from the Mafia King's stronghold.
He wasn't worried about being caught anymore, hiding himself right in the middle of the group, so it took him a moment to process when his feet left the ground.
The group that had previously been providing him anonymity parted speedily, all of them quickly leaving.
Caspian stared up in horror at the person responsible, barely getting a proper look at the unfamiliar Alpha before he was thrown over a shoulder.
His hands sank into a soft fur coat, his thoughts reeling. Had- Had he been caught?
Caspian dug his hands into the coat, gritting his teeth. He had been so close to escaping, he could already taste his freedom.
The Alpha just strode forward, his scent stinging Caspian's nose, his anger swirling around him like a tangible cloud.
He had to cover his nose with his hands, watching with teary eyes as he was carried through the gates he had worked so hard to get through.
The Alpha stopped in front of the mansion, and Caspian could smell the fear heavy in the air.
"Speak." He said shortly when there was nothing but deathly silence for several seconds.
Jael leaned against the car he had driven in, he couldn't explain how Asher had managed to see the Omega from the backseat of the car.
One moment, he was driving the boss inside the gates, and the next moment he was just gone.
He brought out a cigarette and lit it, relieved that he had no responsibility here. He wasn't in charge of safeguarding the Omega, neither was he in charge of scolding the men for letting her get through them.
He had to admit, he was pleasantly surprised. He hadn't been expecting her to try to make a run for it, much less be successful at it.
"We let her get past us," One of the men quickly spoke up, well acquainted with the boss' lack of patience.
"We'll take our punishment with honor, boss."
Asher's hazel-gold stare was unimpressed with their apologies. "Deal with this." He tossed at Jael, striding inside the mansion.
Jael let out a long-suffering sigh, taking a deep draw of his cigarette. Why was he still working at this job again?
He was curious how she had managed to escape though, and a quick scope of the place revealed the open window she had escaped through.
Jael had to chuckle, not only had the boss spent a wild amount to buy a sex slave, he had also managed to get the crazy one.
He doubted the boss would shoot her in anger - he had his own moral code - so he was looking forward to all the trouble she would cause him.
By the time he needed to punish the guards for their slip-up, he was already in a great mood, humor giving his dead dark eyes a little spark.
"I don't need to tell you what will happen if there's a repeat of tonight, do I?" He tossed to them.
He walked into the mansion amidst enthusiastic responses, he was going to get quality sleep that night. It was nice for the boss to deal with the consequences of his actions for once instead of him.
Asher strode to his bedroom, his anger long dissipated. The Omega had looked frail in the cage but she had felt even smaller when he caught her.
It made him frown, Jael's words coming back to him. Most of the Omegas auctioned off had lived a hard life but he had seen none of that in the brief glimpse he had caught of her face.
He had to admit, he hadn't been expecting her to try to escape. Everything she did only served to increase his interest in her.
Unaware of Asher's thoughts, Caspian was right on the brink of a nervous breakdown.
All he had gone through from the moment he left Moonstone till that moment pressed down on him, making it difficult for him to draw a breath.
He heard the key click and he was taken into the room he had just escaped.
Jenny had nicely worded every piece of information she gave him, everything but this. She had warned him against running away. He had no doubt he was about to meet his end.
The Mafia King grabbed him by the waist again, and just like the first time, he could feel the rings on his fingers through the flimsy dress he wore.
He closed his eyes tightly when he was held above the ground, refusing to give in and open his eyes even though he could feel the Alpha staring daggers at him.
"Open your eyes," He finally gave in, exasperation heavy in his voice.
Caspian tightly shook his head, his hands tightly linked together in front of him.
"Oh for fuck's sake," Asher cursed, placing the Omega on the ground so he could hold her face, willing to physically pry open her eyes if he had to.
The moment Caspian's feet touched the ground, he opened his eyes and darted out of reach. He would jump out the still-open window if he had to.
His plans to commit suicide were halted by the Mafia King softly cursing, and Caspian really wanted to do the same.
How else was he supposed to react to the fact that the Alpha was currently holding his wig in his hand?
Asher's forehead wrinkled as he stared intently at the black mass in his hold, trying to make sense of it.
He slowly looked over to the Omega who finally had her eyes open, a frozen panic in those crystal blue eyes.
It was difficult not to notice that her hair had become drastically shorter and lighter. So... So she had been wearing a wig?
Asher quickly got over that little hurdle, tossing the wig over his shoulders and shrugging his coat off, the heavy outfit falling to the ground with an audible thud.
