"WHY DID YOU FIND HER?" I ask Veronica. After she brought my mother to my place yesterday as a surprise, I've not had time to talk to her and ask her why or where did she find her.
Giselle Smith looked the same as always.
What was I supposed to call her? Mother? I've not seen her in years.
"I know how you always wanted her around even if you never said it, I could tell" she looks at me before facing forward again
We were currently in one of my warehouses, someone said they had intel on Veronica's husband's whereabouts.
About time, I can't wait to be done with this shit and her. The more time I spent with her the more it feels like it was going to be harder to get rid of her.
I open the text message I received from Tiago telling me the package I asked for has been delivered to this warehouse.
Finally.
"I'll be right back." I get up and make my way to the room where Tiago is waiting
"Where are you going?" Veronica asks coming after me
"Wait...here" walking off to where Tiago is I knock when I'm at the door, and there he is, Mason.
"Hello Mason"
"M-mr Smith" He stuttered
"Do you know why you're here?"
"I...I swear I didn't mean to sir, I was just greedy I swear I'll pay you back"
"Ah you see, I also knew about your incessant stealing but that's not why you're here"
"Th-then why?" His face was battered and covered in bruises, I could see the blood from his cut eyebrow slide down towards his eye.
His nose was broken or maybe dislocated, either way, he was a canvas waiting to be painted on.
I took off my suit and grabbed the gloves that were handed to me before putting them on "You see, I had no intentions of killing you until I saw my woman's arm later the day"
"I didn't mean to, please I'm sorry" he cried out
"That's the thing, you fucking touched her and I can't stand the fact you still exist" I grabbed the plier that was on the table beside me and made my way towards him "Have you ever lost a nail, Mason?" I motioned to the men behind him to hold him down
"No! please No! HELP!"
"Scream all you want, unfortunately, this is not my favourite part. That part I love is watching the light leave your eyes when you're dying"
Two of my men hold him down by his shoulder and arm. I take a step back for a minute to contemplate the nail I want to take out and I finally decide on the thumb.
I take the tool close to his thumb before clipping it at the top and pulling it a few times. It's going to hurt like hell due to the fact I'm pulling it straight from the flesh without loosening or opening the skin around it.
I look at Mason's face one more time and the expression he has satisfies me deeply.
I don't usually do the dirty work of torturing people who betray or offend me. No, my men take care of that.
As far as it involves Imaani, I'll scour the whole earth to punish everyone who has wronged her in any way.
"This is gonna hurt" I smile before pulling the nail out forcefully.
"FUCK!" Mason cries out, screaming and stomping his feet. His hands are bound so he can't nurse his finger in any little way he can
"Fuck you! God you're a fucking monster"
"I consider that a compliment, Mason"
He sniffed and spat blood out, I was nice enough to let them remove the restraint from his hands. He can't do much since his legs are broken.
He cut a bit of his bloody and dirty shirt before wrapping it around his thumb
"Just kill me please, enough of this suffering. Just grow a fucking pair and kill me already!" he yelled at me
I smile "In due time Mason"
He scoffs "You know what's funny?"
"Unless you tell me"
"She's probably just a whore that has gotten touched by numerous men and you're worried about me grabbing him-"
The gunshot sound resonating through the room after I shot him in the thigh drains out his remaining words. His cries follow after and it does only little to satiate my anger.
I walk towards him and bring my mouth to his ear "You want to know something funny?" I copy his words from earlier
I let out a short laugh at his silence, I take my finger to his bullet wound before pressing down on the sides causing him to groan and try to push my hand away.
My men immediately come forward and restrain him again. This time I take my finger and stick it into the gaping hole while I listen to his cries of pain that sounds joyful to my ears.
I bring my mouth back to his ear "While you're the one strapped to this chair and I'm the person standing, I'm gonna kill you and I'm going to send bits and pieces of you to your girlfriend. What's her name again? Melanie? Yes! I'll send pieces of you every day to Melanie till there's nothing left to send"
His eyes widen at the mention of his girlfriend's name "In your next life, I'd strongly advise, you never say shit about my woman"
I pick up the knife on the table, I halt when I feel my phone buzzing in my pocket I ignore it and go to continue what I was doing.
My phone continues to buzz and I take the gloves off to answer the call, I'm prepared to curse the fuck out whoever it is but I decide against it when I see that it's Imaani.
I move away from the noise and I signal Tiago to cover up Mason's mouth "Hello, love"
"Hey babe, how are you?" her voice sounds soothing to me
"I'm good, you?"
"I'm okay, I'm just making my way to my car what are you up to?"
I turn my gaze to Mason who is struggling in his seat and mumbling "Just taking care of something that bothered me"
"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow okay?"
"Tomorrow? Why not tonight, I can come over after I'm done here" I protest. I've missed her.
"You're not tired?"
"Never. I'll see you later darling"
"Okay dinner is on me then"
"We're not going to argue about that, so I'll see you later"
She chuckles "Bye baby"
"Bye"
I turn to face Tiago, "Kill him. I'm being generous today, so I won't be sending parts of you to Melanie" I smile and pat Mason on the head slowly "I'm in a good mood, so consider this a good gesture, because if I'm being honest, you do not deserve the quick death I'm offering you"
I walk towards the door to leave and then pause "Send his body parts to his family instead."
I open the door only to find Veronica on the other side waiting "Last time I checked, the place I left you and here are not the same"
"The guy is here, you were taking too long"
"Whatever, let's go"
We walk back to where the informant is waiting and I'm not surprised to find that he came with backup that he thinks is not obvious. Even if no one knows, I do.
It's a fucking information exchange, not a drug deal.
"Have a seat, please." I say to the informant whose name I am unaware of "What's your name?"
"Call me Franco"
"Nice to meet you, Franco. I'm, Veronica"
He looks at her slowly and only hums in reply
I raise my eyebrows at the action but ignore it "So, what's the information you have for us"
"Ah. You see at first, I was just going to tell you what I know for free like we planned. But I got here and realized you're rich mon ami. (My friend) So, for each piece of information, you're going to have to pay" he smiled running his tongue across his front teeth in a disgusting manner
"What! But you said you'll give us the information for free because Daniel's business is blocking yours" Veronica was agitated
"Yeah! yeah, I did. Didn't I? But I thought about it and yunno might as well make the money back through you" he points his finger at me and then scratches his wrist.
I notice the distinct movement. He's an addict
"You see 'mon ami' one thing I hate other than liars, is an addicted liar. A deal is a deal and I'm not changing it"
He laughs "I knew you'd say that" He snaps his fingers and the two goons who are horrible at hiding finally come out "I want my money, and maybe I'll give you the information you want" He's thick French accent making a not so subtle appearance
"You don't want to do this Franco" Veronica informs him
"Shutup bitch! N'importe lequel d'entre eux bouge, tuez-les!" (If any of them moves, kill them) Franco yells to the men at his back and they cock their guns and point them at us
"I thought you were smarter than this Franco. " Veronica says to him again
"I said shut up!" he cocks his gun and points it at her while the two behind him stay on me "You! send the money to me now," he tells me
"You're joking, right? I laugh at his stupidity "C'est ma putain de salope d'entrepôt, jai des hommes partout!" (This is my fucking warehouse bitch, I have men everywhere!)
At that declaration, they begin to troop out of their spots and they surround Franco and his men pointing their guns at them His eyes widen, I dunno if it's from fear or the shock of me speaking french
"Drop your weapons!" A voice from among my crew shouts to Franco and his men
One of them is wise enough, he immediately drops his weapon on the floor and kicks it far away from him, Franco and the other dimwit hold their ground with their weapons still pointed at Veronica and me.
"Marcel! what are you doing?" Franco shouts at the one who surrendered
"We're outnumbered Mon ami, don't be stupid" he yells back at Franco
The other one has his eyes trained on me, unwavering and silent. I'm beginning to think he's mute.
"You still choose to be stupid. Skótose tous dýo, áfise ton Frán'ko" (Kill the two leave Franco) I say to those of my men that understand Greek
Franco and the others cock their gun after they hear the language I spoke.
Before they could process what was going on the two men had been shot dead and Franco with a bullet wound in his knee causing his gun to drop to the floor. One of my men immediately moves to him and kicks the guns away from him.
I walk towards him where his laying on the ground. He sees me and starts crawling with his back using his butt as support to push him up away from me "Tell me everything you know and I let you live"
"Fuck you! Fils de pute!" (Son of a bitch)
"Hm" I walk closer to him and step directly on the injury and I watch as the blood seeps through his trousers.
"FUCK! Okay okay! D-daniel Brown, he's in Orleans for a few days for business" he sniffs and cleans the snot from his nose
"What kind of business!?" I press harder on his injury
"I dunno I dunno, I only know that it's big, it has to do with the top shots of the underworld and their businesses"
"Where?"
"I swear I dunno man, please just let me go I beg you!"
I press my foot harder on his injury "I need a location Franco, if not this can't work out"
"Please man, I swear I dunno the location I only know the time man please!" he's crying profusely
"What's the date?"
"In four days' time man, I swear that's all I know. Let me go please"
I take my foot off his injury and bring out my gun before shooting him in the forehead.
He pissed me off earlier.
I send Micheal a text telling him I'd like to see him tonight.
"Tiago, take Veronica back to the hotel," I say to him and I make my way to my car
"What? what about you?"
I stop my movements "What about me?
"You heard what he said aren't you coming so we can plan how to stop Daniel"
"That's what I'm going to do. Doesn't mean we have to do it together for it to work"
"But-"
"Goodnight Veronica"
