"I FEEL LIKE every time I leave your place, and we don't see like at least three to four days, a whole freaking soap opera happens" Sarah complains
She was back from her baecation and I was telling her everything that went on between Jax and me. Everything including the bullet wound and all.
I needed to tell someone I want to be sure I wasn't losing my mind after everything.
I mean he didn't even want to go to the cops, he acted like everything was normal and didn't file a report on the people or the person who shot him.
The only thing that was surprising me more than that, is how calm I'd been since that incident. I took it so well like it was just a normal day in my life to wake up or walk in and stitch up people who have been shot.
"Don't be silly, I just wish he would open up and tell me what happened to him. It's not too much right?"
"I mean the contract does say you guys can be friends right? And I get the fact that you wanna know about the person you're fucking, I would too"
"Going to be fucking" I corrected her "we're not fucking yet"
"Might as well be" she murmured under her breath
"Bitch I heard that!" I laughed and threw the pillow at her
"No, I'm serious, like the both of you have a lot of excess sexual tension. Y'all need to sort it out.
"Fuck You. How's Mateo by the way?"
"I dunno we haven't talked since I got back"
"He's ghosting you or what?"
Turns out Sarah's secret boo was Jax's driver the one who took her home from the club the first time. They had sex that night. And after that, they bumped into each other at the grocery store. Sarah said and I quote "he doesn't look the type to grocery shop, he looked so out of place in their babes. Anyway we went back to my place since it was closer and fucked again" that was how he got her number. And they've been texting and whatnot, fast forward to the vacation.
"No, I'm ghosting him" she muttered
"What! Why? Did he do something?" I moved closer to her so she could lean her head on my shoulder while she talked.
"No. I just don't trust him. He makes all these shady calls and he's just a driver, not that I'm insulting his job but how in hell can a driver have the amount of money Mateo has!"
"Inheritance?" I asked
"I dunno Imaani, you didn't notice what I did. I like him and I think he's cool but I need to know what I'm getting myself into you know"
"I understand babes, he'll tell you when he's ready"
Mateo probably feels the same about her and will open up in the end. Mine is a completely different scenario.
"Best friends in the same situation, ironic isn't it?" Sarah joked we laughed
I pick up my phone as I remember to reply to the message Micheal had sent to me earlier relating to work.
William and I were Supposed to work on a presentation together and it's due in some days.
Sarah gasped and raised her head looking at me "I just remembered you've got another dude if one messes up, luck bitch"
"I don't have another dude, Sarah. William is my friend and Jax is uh, Jax"
"Whatever you say, ma'am. Whatever you say"
I picked up my buzzing phone to check the message.
Okay, that's not William.
"Tonight. The hotel at 7, bring an overnight bag. No underwear"
I read the text and it felt like I was listening to him say it to me personally.
This man has me in a chokehold I just have to find a way to get free.
