Gu Anxi was a very deep sleeper. Or perhaps it couldn’t truly be called sleep... Bo Xichen had examined her but had found nothing conclusive, so he simply set up an office at the school for her to sleep in.
The vast library was very quiet, the only sound the soft RUSTLE of Bo Xichen’s fountain pen on paper.
Gu Anxi woke at eleven in the morning. Perhaps it was because the autumn sunlight felt so wonderfully comfortable; she hugged Bo Xichen’s coat, her eyes narrowed in contentment, as snug as a little kitten.
The library door CREAKED open, followed by the TAP-TAP-TAP of high heels.
Gu Anxi burrowed her face deeper into the coat but made no sound.
From behind a screen, a very gentle female voice said, "Professor Bo, these are some small pastries I made myself. I brought some for my colleagues, and since I saw you were here, I brought some for you too."
Bo Xichen’s voice was rather low, and it was difficult to make out what he said.
The female teacher continued to chat with him with exceptional gentleness, always being the one to find topics for conversation.
Gu Anxi secretly listened for a short while, then rolled over on the sofa. It smells so good!
