Gu Anxi sat in the passenger seat, watching Bo Xichen as she made her final protest. "I can just stay in a hotel!"
Bo Xichen freed one hand to pat her head. "You’re back, and you want to stay in a hotel instead of at home?"
"But this is your home," she muttered quietly.
Professor Bo coughed lightly. "Didn’t you call me ’Uncle’? My home is your home too."
Gu Anxi fell silent, leaning back in her seat and biting her finger. She looked quite endearing that way.
Bo Xichen casually told her a bit about his family. Gu Anxi listened, nodding like a little chick. There were so many people in his family... However, Bo Xichen didn’t plan for her to meet so many people all at once; this time, it would only be his parents.
The car slowly drove onto a private path. After about ten minutes, it arrived before a grand, traditional Chinese-style building. The car didn’t stop; the main gates slid open, and the luxurious sports car drove into a courtyard that seemed to be straight out of a landscape painting.

Then he got out of the car, took her hand in a manner that brooked no refusal, and carried her painting as they walked towards the living room. The living room was also in the Chinese style, but the color scheme was excellent, creating a very comfortable atmosphere entirely free of any sense of oppressiveness.
What surprised Gu Anxi was the sight of Old He, comfortably chatting over tea with a middle-aged man in a green shirt. Sitting with them was presumably Bo Xichen’s mother, who was beautiful and dignified but had a particularly gentle demeanor.
Bo Xichen came to a stop and very respectfully greeted, "Father, Mother."
Bo’s father raised his eyes and smiled faintly. "So, you’ve finally brought the little guest home. Old He has been talking about his little apprentice for a long time."
Bo’s mother immediately stood up and, smiling brightly, pulled Gu Anxi over to sit on a nearby sofa. Just as Bo’s mother was about to speak, Gu Anxi rose and politely greeted them, "Good day, Uncle and Aunt."
Then she greeted her teacher.
Old He was overjoyed. "I told you Xichen is quite capable! Look how well he’s tamed this little devil in just a few days!"
With elders present, Gu Anxi only dared to bare her teeth discreetly, maintaining an outwardly honest, obedient, and well-behaved demeanor. So, Old He teased her even more. Bo Xichen gave a warm smile. "It’s time for dinner; we haven’t eaten yet."
Bo’s mother covered her mouth and chuckled. Her son was finally showing some initiative! And the little girl he brought home was so lovely. Her posture was so upright, her calves slender, and she and Xichen made such a well-matched pair in height.
Bo’s father also stood up, stroking his nonexistent beard. "Yes, we shouldn’t keep our little guest hungry."
Gu Anxi felt somewhat overwhelmed by the attention. In her mind, parents from an illustrious family like Bo Xichen’s were supposed to be stern and unsmiling, but his parents were exceptionally warm and approachable... She felt a twinge of envy.
