Above the sky, golden and crimson lights clashed violently, illuminating the entire horizon.
The blood flames roared and coiled, finally condensing into a massive crimson pillar of fire that shot straight into the sky. The intense heat, even from thousands of meters away, left Chen Mo drenched in sweat.
Chen Mo was slightly amazed. With his current Dou Qi reserves and strength, he was far from capable of wielding blood flames to such an extent.
"Your Majesty, who do you think will win?" Chen Mo asked softly, glancing at Queen Medusa, who was watching the battle intently.
"I will," Queen Medusa replied coldly.
"The Cang Thunder Blood Eagle has been consumed by rage, and its vitality is weaker than the Darkgold Magic Tiger King's. If it fails to secure victory quickly, then the one who wins will undoubtedly be the Darkgold Magic Tiger King," Queen Medusa suddenly remarked.
"Oh!" Chen Mo murmured.
What followed was akin to watching an exhilarating 3D battle unfold before his very eyes.
The clash between two Rank Six Magic Beasts turned the once-lush forest below into barren land, forcing countless Magic Beasts to flee in terror.
When a storm of energy swept toward them, Chen Mo would have been blown away had Queen Medusa not grabbed his hand.
However, Chen Mo, quick-witted as ever, took the opportunity to wrap his arm around Queen Medusa's waist.
"What a strong wind! Your Majesty, you should steady yourself, or we'll both be sent flying!"
Chen Mo made it seem as though he was merely holding on for safety.
"Human..." Queen Medusa's phoenix-like eyes glowed with cold intent as she spoke icily. With her strength, no storm could possibly blow her away—she simply hoped he would have the sense to let go.
But instead, he held on even tighter.
"You!" Queen Medusa sighed in exasperation, deciding to deal with him later.
The two colossal beasts clashed once more, their impact so powerful that for a moment, even the surrounding space seemed to freeze.
A thunderous explosion ripped through the darkening sky.
"The battle is about to be decided," Queen Medusa stated.
Chen Mo watched as both the Cang Thunder Blood Eagle and the Darkgold Magic Tiger King were covered in blood. It was unclear whether the blood belonged to themselves or their opponent. However, the Darkgold Magic Tiger King was clearly in better condition.
"So, can you let go now?" Queen Medusa turned and shot Chen Mo a frosty glare.
As the storm subsided, Queen Medusa had already released her grip on Chen Mo's hand—yet he was still holding onto her waist.
"Uh... Nice weather we're having," Chen Mo said awkwardly, quickly releasing her and scratching his head while gazing up at the now-dark sky.
Queen Medusa said nothing. Instead, her snake tail lashed out, sending Chen Mo flying a dozen meters.
By now, Chen Mo had grown accustomed to taking beatings. Before hitting the ground, he struck out with his palm, stabilizing himself mid-air.
"No drop in favorability—nice."
The battle had reached its climax.
With a mighty swipe of its razor-sharp claws, the Darkgold Magic Tiger King shredded the Cang Thunder Blood Eagle's massive wing, leaving deep gashes. The eagle let out a piercing cry, but before it could react, the Tiger King's fangs clamped down on its throat, tearing off its head with a brutal yank.
Spitting out the eagle's severed head, the Darkgold Magic Tiger King prepared to announce its victory—
But at that moment, Queen Medusa disappeared from Chen Mo's side.
In the next instant, a crimson flash appeared above the Darkgold Magic Tiger King's massive body.
"Who's there?" The Tiger King's expression changed drastically.
Like a severed kite, the Tiger King was sent crashing to the ground, much like the Cang Thunder Blood Eagle before it.
The earth trembled, sending dust clouds billowing into the air.
When the dust settled, a massive crater came into view. Though the Darkgold Magic Tiger King was still clinging to life, blood gushed from its mouth. It coughed violently, its voice filled with unwillingness.
The only response was a crimson arrow piercing straight into its chest.
Queen Medusa retracted her bow and descended toward the crater.
Chen Mo, standing atop his flying sword, arrived at the scene as well.
The battlefield was a wreck, with not a single intact tree in sight. The Cang Thunder Blood Eagle's blood had dyed the soil a deep crimson.
After landing, Queen Medusa simply glanced at Chen Mo as if to say: Why are you just standing there? Are you expecting me to do it?
Holding Tian Yuan, Chen Mo first extracted the beast core from the Cang Thunder Blood Eagle's head, then stored the severed head into his Na Ring. A Rank Six Magic Beast's body was full of valuable materials—wasting it would be a shame.
However, when he tried to store the entire eagle's corpse, he realized his Na Ring didn't have enough space.
So, he stored it in his system's inventory instead.
Queen Medusa raised a brow slightly. Since she had given Chen Mo that Na Ring, she knew exactly how much space it had. There was no way it could hold the eagle's massive body—yet it had vanished.
She pursed her lips but ultimately chose not to ask.
Next, Chen Mo approached the Darkgold Magic Tiger King's corpse. Its body remained largely intact.
Most Magic Beasts' cores were located in their heads. Chen Mo stabbed his sword into the Tiger King's skull.
As expected of a Metal-element Magic Beast—he had to use considerable force just to pierce it.
Before long, he found the beast core.
The Darkgold Magic Tiger King's core was significantly larger than the Cang Thunder Blood Eagle's, roughly the size of two of Chen Mo's fists.
Just as he was about to extract it, a brilliant white light erupted from within the core.
Queen Medusa had been watching him closely. The moment she saw the light, she shouted and, in a flash of crimson, appeared beside Chen Mo, shoving him aside.
The white light struck Queen Medusa, hitting her left shoulder.
A mouthful of blood sprayed from her lips, and her face turned pale.
Chen Mo, knocked to the ground, was momentarily stunned. He wasn't sure what had just happened—but more importantly, Queen Medusa was injured.
Seeing her sway, about to collapse, Chen Mo slammed his palm against the ground, dashing forward in an instant to catch her.
Queen Medusa fell into his arms.
"Your Majesty, are you alright?"
Glancing at her wound, Chen Mo sighed in relief upon realizing it wasn't fatal. But soon, an inexplicable ache gripped his heart.
She had been injured because of him.
"It was a bloodline skill," Queen Medusa murmured.
Chen Mo had no idea what a bloodline skill was, but after storing the Darkgold Magic Tiger King's body, he carried Queen Medusa away.
He needed to find a secluded place to treat her wounds.
