Born In Ashes: The Enigma Chapter 243

Seeing Azrael and the others leave, Morak’s face turned gloomy. "Do you think you will be able to get away after lying so blatantly?" He shouted, his voice laced with fury. But even then, Azrael, Luo Bingqing, and Elyara completely ignored him and climbed the staircase, leaving the underground area behind. Once they were out, Elyara glanced back and spoke in a low voice. "He wasn’t completely wrong, you know. Once an investigation is conducted, there is a high chance that you will face some trouble because of what you said to the vice principal earlier." Azrael smiled slightly at Elyara’s words and shook his head. "Don’t worry. Even if they find out what I said earlier wasn’t completely true, nothing’s going to happen to me..." He paused before shrugging his shoulders. "Besides, it’s not like what I said was a hundred percent wrong. I just bent the events a little to make that greedy bastard suffer a bit." Luo Bingqing and Elyara’s eyes twitched slightly at his words and they looked at him curiously. "You are really not afraid of the security forces, huh..." Elyara said, her eyes filled with curiosity. "Are you the son of some big shot?" "Maybe," Azrael replied without explaining further and began to walk away. "Why act so mysterious? Does he have the mentality of those immature brats who hide their family background on purpose and only reveal it in front of thousands of people with a haughty look on their faces, shocking everyone?" Elyara muttered under her breath. When Azrael, who was walking ahead heard her, he felt a strong urge to give her a solid beating. Feeling the dark aura emanating from Azrael, Elyara quickly shut her mouth and began to whistle innocently. Luo Bingqing didn’t say anything and simply smiled at the scene. Azrael, on the other hand, shook his head and continued moving once Elyara went silent. It wasn’t that he wanted to hide his background or anything, but he simply found it troublesome to talk about it. Once people found out that he was from the Thorne Family, they would inevitably start asking more questions, about Ashara, who was notoriously famous among the people, or about artifacts and props, since his family was the biggest manufacturer of such items in the Human Federation. For Azrael, who found communicating with others without a proper reason troublesome, revealing his background was nothing more than inviting unnecessary problems. Unless he was in real trouble, he had no intention of telling anyone about it. As Azrael and the others walked out of the underground chamber and headed toward the place where they had left their spaceship, the security forces stationed outside looked at them with suspicion, wondering who they were. They were still a bit confused by the earlier disturbance they had felt when Azrael fought Harin, and now, seeing three unfamiliar people emerging from the underground chamber only deepened their confusion. Azrael and the others, however, didn’t care about the suspicious looks they were receiving and continued walking toward their spaceship. Suddenly, Azrael heard a few people talking in the distance, saying something about bleeding stars and strange phenomena. ’What are they talking about?’ He wondered, confused by their words. However, he didn’t approach them to ask. ’If it’s something big, I will naturally find out once I check the internet...’ He thought to himself as he increased his listening range, using the flowing wind to overhear the conversations of those around him. As he listened, Azrael realized that most people were discussing the same thing, mentioning glowing crimson stars, omens of destruction, and other strange occurrences. ’Looks like something big happened while I was inside.’ At that moment, Azrael noticed their spaceship in the distance, and his thoughts immediately shifted to another topic. ’I wonder if No. 4 has woken up?’ Before leaving, Azrael had carefully examined No. 4’s condition and determined that it would take a few days for her to heal inside the recovery tube and wake up. It had already been three days since then, so he wondered if she was awake by now. Soon, the three of them reached their spaceship, and after confirming that the security forces hadn’t done anything to it, they boarded. Once inside, without delay, Luo Bingqing headed to the control room and piloted the ship, lifting it out of Planet Fras’s atmosphere. But knowing that any action he took now might worsen his situation during the investigation, he did nothing and simply watched them leave. Within a minute, the spaceship left Planet Fras behind. Once in outer space, Luo Bingqing handed control over to the ship’s AI and set it to fly at full speed toward Planet Arkanis. "We are finally going back," Elyara said with a sigh of relief as her appearance reverted to her original self. "I can finally take a peaceful nap." With that, she walked to her room without waiting for a response. Luo Bingqing also nodded at Azrael before returning to his room, exhausted after days of exploring the ruins. Azrael silently walked to his own room, and as the door slid open, he saw No. 4 still inside the glass tube, unconscious. Closing the door behind him, Azrael approached her and carefully examined her condition. He could sense that her aura had mostly stabilized, and there didn’t seem to be anything wrong with her. "She should wake up in a day or two..." He muttered after finishing his examination, sighing in relief. He added a healing potion into the liquid inside the tube to ensure her recovery and finally slumped down onto his bed. "Ha! I am really exhausted," He said, rubbing his face as the recent events had taken a great toll on him, both physically and mentally. He lay on his bed for a few minutes before finally sitting up and taking out the storage ring he had found beneath the Sanguinal Throne. "Let’s check out all the treasures inside it."
