Azrael explained the situation to Elyara and Luo Bingqing.
When they heard that the security forces intended to capture them, neither of them showed much reaction as before entering the ruins, they had already expected something to happen.
However, the revelation that the core area of the ruins could only be approached at noon genuinely surprised them.
"So, we will just let the security forces handle the people of the Transcendent Organization and then sneak in behind them?" Elyara asked.
Azrael shrugged at her question. "Since they are so greedy and want to claim everything inside the ruins for themselves, let them go ahead."
Luo Bingqing nodded in agreement. To him, it was absurd that the security forces wanted to capture them.
Yes, they had entered the ancient ruins without authorization, but it was also an undeniable fact that they were the ones who discovered the Transcendent Organization’s hideout and uncovered the ruins hidden underground.
Not only that, but it was Azrael who had dealt with most of the Transcendent Organization’s members and had personally killed their leader.
And yet, now the security forces were claiming that the group’s mission had merely been to locate the hideout and that Azrael’s team had "overdone it" by exterminating the organization.
"To me, it doesn’t seem like they are doing this because we entered the ruins without authorization," Luo Bingqing said coldly. "It’s more likely they want to keep all the treasures in these ruins for themselves. Even if they find something valuable here, I doubt they will hand it over to the Federation. They would probably keep it for their own gain."
Azrael silently agreed with Luo Bingqing. Although he had only overheard the conversation and hadn’t seen the security forces in person, he could easily tell that their leader, Morrison, was the one pushing to have them captured.
"From what Luo Bingqing observed through his ice birds, there are about ten epic-level warriors in that group..." Elyara said, her brows furrowed in confusion. "From the information I gathered about Planet Fras, there shouldn’t be that many epic-level warriors on such a barren planet. Where did so many of them come from?"
"Not all of them are from Planet Fras," Azrael explained calmly. "These ruins are considered top-tier among the epic level ruins. To safely investigate a place , you need many epic-level warriors, at least one of them at the peak of epic level. Since the forces of Planet Fras wouldn’t be able to handle such a high-level ruin alone, they must have reported it to the authorities of the Flato Solar System and the other epic-level warriors likely came from the four neighboring planets in this system to assist."
At this point, Azrael turned to Luo Bingqing.
"Can you see their identification badges through your ice birds?"
Luo Bingqing refocused his attention through the eyes of his summoned ice birds. When he zoomed in on one of the class-rank warriors among the security forces, who was busy setting up a defensive camp, he noticed that the badge on the man’s armor was different from those worn by the forces of Planet Fras.
"You are right," Luo Bingqing confirmed. "These people are wearing the insignia of the security forces of the Flato Solar System, not Planet Fras."
Azrael nodded calmly at his words and continued,
"Since the leader of this group dared to order our capture so boldly, I suspect he must have received permission from the highest authority of the Flato Solar System."
"You mean the legend-rank warrior who oversees the entire Flato Solar System?" Elyara asked, narrowing her eyes.
When Mira had given Azrael details about this mission, she had mentioned that the highest-ranking authority in the Flato Solar System was indeed a legend-rank warrior.
Luo Bingqing and Elyara, having done their own research before coming here were also aware of this fact.
"What do you mean this group received permission from that legend-rank warrior to capture us?" Luo Bingqing asked in a puzzled voice.
"It’s because if that legend rank warrior hadn’t granted them permission, these people wouldn’t have dared even to consider capturing us despite the fact that we had entered the ruins without authorization," Elyara interjected before Azrael could answer.
She looked at Luo Bingqing and explained seriously,
"You need to understand that this region isn’t rich in resources, and most of the population here can only reach class rank in their entire lifetime. As for us, we were accepted into the Slayers Academy, one of the most prestigious academies in the entire Human Federation. That alone means we are practically guaranteed to reach at least legend rank in the future.
"Moreover, people who manage to enter top academies like the Slayers Academy almost always have powerful backgrounds. Even knowing the potential trouble that could arise from targeting people like us, do you think they would dare to try capturing us without strong backing?"
A look of realization flashed across Luo Bingqing’s face at Elyara’s words.
But at the same time, another question surfaced in his mind.
"Then why would that legend-rank warrior want to capture us?" He asked.
"Who knows?" Azrael replied with a shrug. "Maybe he wants the treasures inside the ruins for himself and fears we might take them first. After all, unlike the people of the Transcendent Organization, whom he can kill even if they somehow manage to obtain the treasures and leave the ruins, we are different. Once we get the treasure and leave the ruins, it would become extremely difficult for him to take it back from us. Or perhaps there is another reason altogether."
He paused, then added in a calm, indifferent voice.
"But whatever the reason, it doesn’t matter. Since they want to capture us, we will simply let them deal with the Transcendent Organization first. And if they try to stand in our way..."
