Crystal Lemiere
I walked out from the bathroom to take my lipstick from my makeup bag. I put it on my lips and looked at myself in the mirror. I smiled and took my clutch and walked out the door.
I walked downstairs and found my dad sitting on the sofa watching soccer. I walked to him and sat beside him while waiting for Lucas to pick me up.
"Where are you going?" He asked in a cold tone.
"Have dinner with Lucas." I answered and it made me turn to him.
"Brandon told me that he proposed to you to be his father-in-law but you rejected him." I asked and yes I heard it from Brandon. Lucas didn't say anything to me, I don't even know that he planned to see my dad.
"You know the answer already."
"Dad, you know he's a really nice guy. He loves me so much and he won't hurt me. He even asked you nicely. I don't even know that he went to you by himself." I said and he just stayed silent.
"Dad, please. It's been 1 month and you're still acting cold to him. I love him, dad. I love him with all my heart. I asked him to run away and just get married but he kept rejecting my offer. He kept insisting that he has to ask your permission." I sighed.
"I.. I'm not ready to let you go yet." He said as he got up from the sofa.
"Dad, I'm 25 years old." I said and he ignored me. He walked away and I sighed big time.
"Give him time." I heard my mom say and I turned my head to her. She walked out from the kitchen and sat beside me. She gave me a glass of apple juice and I sipped it with a straw.
"Until when?"
"Your dad has been secretly going to your room at night to kiss you goodnight. He kept looking at your photos when you were a kid. He's not ready to let you go, Crystal. He needs more time. He's just an ordinary dad despite his evil and cold image in the business world." My mom smiled at me softly and I nodded.
"He loves you so much. You're his princess and the idea of someone else taking you away from him.. is just.. he's not ready. For him, you're still his little princess. I beg you to give your dad more time. How about spending time with him these days?" I looked at my mom and she took my hand. She patted it and I nodded.
My phone rang and it's Lucas. My mom smiled and gestured to me to go. I hugged her and bid my goodbye to her. I walked out from my house and got into Lucas' car.
"Hey." I kissed his cheek.
"You okay?" He asked and I sighed.
"It's just my dad."
"Why? Is he okay?" Lucas asked and I looked straight into his eyes.
"You asked him to be your father-in-law huh?" I asked and he looked at me speechless.
"Brandon told me.. he rejected you 2 times already right?"
"I just want to ask him officially." Lucas answered.
"I hate him."
"Hey.." Lucas held my hand and smiled, "He's acting like that because he loves you. He just needs more time. I will act the same as him if I have a daughter. I will be so protective and so possessive towards my daughter. I can't blame him, Crystal. He's a father and for him you're his princess. Don't worry, he will approve of us. We just need time." Lucas said and I nodded weakly.
"Thankyou." I said and he caressed my head.
"You look beautiful tonight."
"Thankyou, you look so handsome too." I said and he kissed my cheek. He drove away from my house to have dinner with Nate and Joan. It's been a long time since Nate and Lucas saw each other. Their schedules never match so when we have the same empty schedule, we quickly book a reservation to have dinner or lunch together.
When we arrived at the restaurant, we got out and Lucas gave his car keys to the valet chauffeur. Lucas held my hand and we walked inside.
"Mr. Bryant." Lucas said to the waitress and she lead us to a private room. We walked in and I hugged Joan right away.
"I miss you." Joan said.
"Me too. It's been 2 weeks right? Gosh.." I said and she chuckled. I hugged Nate after that and we both sat down across them.
"Funny to see you guys together again.. after seeing you two fighting and almost divorce each other." Lucas said after we ordered our food.
"I can't believe you don't know the news about us. She signed the divorce paper." Yes, this is the first time that they have seen each other since 3 years ago. They talked through the phone only all this time.
"Of course, I did. You're an idiot for picking him instead of me." Joan hissed and Nate winked at Lucas. I chuckled seeing it.
"He loves me more, I'm sorry." Lucas said to Joan.
"He's an idiot. My dad asked me to sign the divorce paper and he hates Nate with all his heart after that. I didn't want to talk to him too and he kept begging Joel and Axel to help him." Joan said and I laughed.
"I'm sorry babe." Nate said as he turned his head to Joan. Joan ignored him.
"So Mrs. Bryant or Ms. Cesborn?" Lucas asked.
"Don't ask her that!" Nate shut her mouth with his hand and looked at Lucas in horror. Suddenly Nate groaned in pain, making Nate take his hand off her mouth.
"Don't make me stick my stilettos to your feet, Nathaniel." Joan said coldly.
"I'm sorry.. okay.. sorry."
"Idiot." Lucas said.
"Look at yourself.. you're an idiot in front of her too." Nate hissed at Lucas and Lucas turned his head to me.
"I'm not."
"Oh really?" I asked as I sipped my glass of water.
"I'm kidding.. I'm kidding." Lucas said immediately, making me laugh.
"Wanna hunt for hot guys tonight?" Joan asked me like there's only me in the room.
"What did you say?" Nate asked.
"I asked Crystal if she wanted to go hunt a cute and hot guy tonight?" Joan looked at me smirking.
"Of course, she won't. She loves me too much." Lucas said confidently and I rolled my eyes.
"Let's go."
"NO!" The boys said in unison.
