Behind them was the raging Blood Bishop, Ace Underwood, who was in the middle of his evolution. In the middle of it, Ace had lost all senses of his humanity and saw his fellow Blood Mutants as potential targets to kill, hence the reason for him pursuing the others without giving up easily.
Jim, Cherry, and Anya fell into the river and got swept away by the rushing current. Ace, on the other hand, had lost sight of them, making him change his focus to the startled beasts by the river. Letting out a powerful roar, the Blood Mutant began killing and slaughtering the beasts, tainting the color of the river with the blood of his victims.
"Look at him go!!" Cherry and the others gasped as they watched Ace consume the blood of the beasts he was killing. A few of them tried to fight and bring him down, but the sheer strength and ferocity of the evolving Blood Mutant were overwhelming. A lucky few beasts escaped with only minor scratches and broken bones. The unfortunate ones had their life essence sucked out by the Blood Mutant and its aggressive nature.
"If he keeps drinking that much, he might become an addict," Anya commented, mesmerized by the amount of blood Ace was sucking and absorbing. "Is there any way we can stop him? You guys said you saw him do this before, so there might be an antidote to his rage, right?"
"We’ll have to wait for the process to end," Cherry answered. "Or wait for a powerful Granian to knock him out," Jim answered. As he was still talking, the raging Bishop overheard their voices and started drawing closer to them.
"Damn it, he has seen us!!" Anya cursed. She quickly picked up Cherry, transformed into her Blood Mutant form, and scaled the cliffs surrounding her. Jim, waiting for the women to go first, decided he would act as a distraction. However, he noticed a peculiar pattern in the way Ace handled himself.
His movements slowed down, the tendrils absorbed by his body grew less, and his form started to deteriorate back into his human form. By the time he got to Jim, he was more human than Mutant, the only similarity being the red stains on his even more muscular body.

While some can control it, others find it harder to do so and therefore have to be put down... that is if whoever tries to put them down has the strength to do so.
[Blood Bishops are cunning, lucrative, deceptive, and even have been reported to have slight camouflaging skills that enable them to capture their targets with ease. With an increased body, they also have increased blood control and blood strength, allowing them to literally overtake control of their victims and their bodies, bending them to do their will. Lastly, the rank is well known for its ability to turn other species into Blood Mutants, therefore allowing them to potentially make it to the Blood King Rank.

It was done. The event Ace was hoping for had finally passed. He now had the power of a Blood Bishop. Meaning he could turn whoever he liked into a Mutant. However, that wasn’t any of his interest. The Blood Mutant only looked forward to this form because it came with increased strength, size, power, and blood strength.
"N-now...Now I...can start...my...path to...killing the Granians one...at a...time.." Ace muttered to Jim as his exhausted body fell into Jim’s arms. "Starting with...Chris and Lily."
With those words, Ace breathed one last time and passed out, his body steaming at this point while his symbiote pulsated repeatedly like a pacing heartbeat. Cherry, Jim, and Anya reverted to normal, no longer having to worry about Ace’s raging rampage. While Jim carried Ace, Cherry was taken to the slaughter site where Ace killed a large number of beasts. Feeding off the scraps of her brother’s rage, Cherry was able to retain her lost strength and opted to carry her brother using her stronger Mutant form.
"There was a time I was stronger than you," Cherry muttered, her crescent-shaped eyes looking into her brother’s unconscious face. "Can’t believe I nearly died at your hands today. If you’re gonna keep growing , then I’ll have no choice but to do the same."
"We all have no choice, kid," Anya sighed as she and Jim fed a little. "Let’s hurry up and get to the center of the forest. Who knows, maybe one of us will blow out like he did." She laughed... to herself.

Grim, who was in his home with his mate; Lord Grania, who was on his way back to the desert, and Grand Master, who was in the Granian Metropolis all gasped, their reptilian eyes opening wide at the Mutant’s achievement.
