I wake up in the arms of Noah. Me and Noah, last night slept together.
It was unlike our first time. He was very gentle and patient with me. I felt a different person last night. It wasn’t the rude or egoistical Noah Enrique. It was just Noah, the one who doesn’t seem scary at all.
But I’m scared because he changes in seconds and if he does my fairytale bubble will burst. But I like this, I like how love feels, I like how having someone close to you feels, it takes away that emptiness that lingers at night.
I try to get his arms off my naked body but he doesn’t budge.
“ Stop moving. “ He complains about his eyes still closed.
“ I’m hungry. I have to make breakfast. “
He huffs and finally opens his eyes. He gets his phone and orders, someone, to get breakfast.
“ My driver will get us breakfast from a restaurant. Now sleep, I wanna cuddle with you a little longer. “ Noah says, putting his arms around me. His head rests on my chest.
“ I’m not sleepy now. Let me get up. “ I whisper.
“ Well if you are not sleepy we can do other things. “ He suggests with a playful smile plastered on his chiseled face.
“ Like what? “ I ask innocently.
“ Like going for around two. “ He says, kissing me passionately. His hands move around my body and he gets on top of me. Diving his head in my neck, kissing me ever so passionately.
I wake up Tim and we all eat our breakfast. There is a croissant, eggs, pancakes, bagel and cream cheese, a nicely decorated plate of fruits, and Noah’s black coffee.
“ How can you even like that? “ I ask, referring to his coffee.
“ I don’t know. It just suits me besides I dislike sugary drinks. “ He comments.
“ Wanna take a sip? “ He asks, extending his cup forward. He holds the cup to my lips and I take a sip almost puking it out.
“ Ew, this is the worst thing ever. “ I say barely swallowing it.
He just chuckles at me making disgusting faces.
“ So tell me Emma, who is Morty and why was he bothering you? “ Noah asks, sipping his coffee.
“ I don’t know why he was here yesterday. He used to come here back then because he had a reason to, now it doesn’t make sense for him to come back here.” I reply honestly.
“ He has been here? Is he your ex? Did you say you never had a boyfriend? Emma, did you lie to me? “ He asks in a cold hard tone.
“ God no, Noah I took a loan from him. I took 90,000 dollars from him for Tim’s surgery as I didn’t have that much money on me. I was able to pay back a few thousand dollars from that amount but the rest I couldn’t. “
“ He used to come here to pester you for his money. “ Noah states and I nod.
“ But I didn’t have it, so I couldn’t give it back to him. I was getting tired of the abuse, he would call me names sometimes and even hurt Tim. I ended up blackmailing you because I was desperate. I was scared that he would, one day hurt Tim badly for his money or worse take him away from me. At that time, getting the money was important even if it was by the wrong means. “ I explain.
“ He abused you and Tim? “ Noah asks, gritting his teeth, putting his coffee aside.
I just nod.
He holds both my hands firmly and gives them a gentle squeeze, assuring me.
“ I’ll make him rot in prison for a very long time Emma and by the time he gets out his hair will be white. You do not have to worry about him anymore. “ He assures, his eyes holding sincerity.
I just nod and look down to hide my tears. Telling him about Morty reminds me of all the verbal and physical abuse I had to go through.
“ Hey, why are you crying? “ He asks, his hand caressing my cheek.
“ It’s just that….no one has ever done this for me… I am used to always fighting alone for me and Tim. I’m not a gold digger Noah, I was desperate to find a way out. “
Noah hugs me and rubs my back gently.
“ I know that Emma, don’t cry over it now. Morty’s gone and you’ll always have me to protect you. “
“ Even when the month ends and I am no longer yours? “ I ask.
“ You’ll always be mine silly girl. For eternity. “ He speaks, words filled with sincerity.
“ How long is your eternity? “
“ As long as my life. “ He whispers those promising words with full honesty.
We both head for office in his car. He gives me a ride. He stops at the parking lot of the building.
Before I can leave they hands me a water bottle and a packet of some medicine.
“ I am not sick Noah. “ I reply with a smile.
“ This is so you do not get pregnant Emma. “ Noah explains in the simplest of terms.
“ You don’t want me to get pregnant? “ I ask disappointed.
“ Hell No! I don’t want a child at this point in my career. Besides, I’ll have a child when I’m married. “ He says, and then leaves.
He said he’d have a child when he is married but he never mentioned me. He never said he’d like to have a baby with me after our marriage. Does he even intend to marry me?
Are we even in a relationship? What if he is just using me? He is after all a rich billionaire who likes to play around, won’t he marry someone of his own caliber, that is equally rich and wealthy and not a nobody like me?
All these insecurities cloud my mind.
