That was the whole song, and for the whole duration, I could hear his voice singing along as he stared at me.
“You know that song?”
He nodded, “Yes. It’s one of my favorites. Along with the Always be my baby and Iris of Goo Goo dolls.”
“Didn’t know you would be a such singer.”
He shrugged, “I know I’m handsome and talented, just say that.” He winked at me and I chuckled.
Silence started to envelop us again and he cleared his throat.
“I do not know if I already told you this but …I am giving you my deepest condolences.” Ajax suddenly started to speak up.
I nodded, “Thank you.” I cleared my throat, “So, how is your training? And how is my uncle treating you so far?”
He suddenly smiled, “Oh it was good. And your uncle was much kinder. He was far better than my father who did nothing but punishes me if I forgot the vision and mission of the Sillas Corp.”
that was his answer.
“Are you scared of your father?” I asked since I haven’t seen him but I could only hear him. He’s one of the richest people in the whole world, I think.
He shook his head, “A bit. In the past.”
That made me curious, “Why only in the past?”
“He could hit me when I was a child, but now that I’m older, I could escape from his crutches.” He answered, “And I have one thing I have much more fear in.”
“And what is that?”
“Losing you.” He answered. “I felt like I was out of my mind when I couldn’t find you, Ellaina.”
I scoffed, “But you did. You were able to find me.”
“Only because my brother helped me to it, not without torturing me first.” He suddenly said. “So…how are you here?”
I shrugged, “Still mourning from my father’s death. But I’m alright now.”
He nodded, “You were worried that I might have lost my way back to your house…and you came looking for me knowing there’s a storm outside….”
I shrugged, “I was just-“
“You were worrying for me.” There was a silly smile on his face now and I breathed deeply.
“I was not.”
“Really?” He chuckled, his chest rumbling, “Keep denying it, babe. You know you love me back.”
I clenched my teeth, part of me hating how I am seconds away from agreeing with him.
“I…do not.”
He leaned to me and then before long, I could feel his lips smashing on mine. He went slow at first, and there was hesitation, but sooner than later, his hands were tangling me.
“No… not here, Ajax.” He suddenly paused.
“You’re not making me stop….” He trailed off.
I nodded, “Yes, but not here. We are in a stranger’s house.”
A stupid grin was on his face now and he decided to stop.
“Alright, but don’t expect that I will stop myself tomorrow.” And as he said that, he laid on his back, closing his eyes and drifting to sleep.
I paused, wanting to be clear to him and changing my mind.
“After this storm, I want you to leave, Ajax. I am using you. You’re a billionaire, you don’t deserve a poor model like me. You need to leave.”
There. I said it. I want to push him away. I know I said that I believe him and that he’s love for me is real, but it’s not enough.
He scoffed, “Using me? I think between us, I’m the one using you. You’re far too beautiful and kind and strong.” Ajax then released a breath, If I could have met you earlier, then you would not be heartbroken like this.”
I let the silence speak between us and did not dare talk.
“Since you’re pushing me again, can I atleast….kiss you one last time?”
