Arasbus’ eyes could not believe what he was seeing. Although he did not care about losing a few hundred or even a thousand demonic beasts to the traps and spells barrage of the enemy, this was entirely different.
For starters, the demonic force on the upper side was three thousand strong and included almost half a dozen demonic Champions. Not to mention, the humans were not really drawing themselves out, and with every kill, they were actually improving.
"March! March! March!" The Abyssal Champion shouted in rage to the rest of the demonic horde at the bottom of the mountain, urging them to advance faster so they could reunite with those on the top.
Unfortunately for the demonic horde, the mud made escalating the five hundred meters a monumental task.
Vlad noticed how the demonic horde was rising slowly and knew the first part of his plan was a complete success. Had their enemy been other humans or angels, it would have been much more complicated, but demons relied too much on their numbers and brute power, so a simple plan was the best tactic.
Of course, things were far from over, and they needed to kill this part of the demonic horde fast before the rest could reach the upper side of the mountain.
Vlad’s energy exploded with even more strength as he stepped back, dodging one of the claws of the Golden Demon Lizard before sending an upper kick that landed on the demon’s jaw and immediately slashed to the side, intercepting the spider’s legs.
The Demon Spider was strong and fast, but his movements were too easy to predict. Vlad blocked the spikes with one sword, making the second weapon disappear to aim his free hand at the Champion demon’s face.
The Demon Spider’s face was shocked as he saw the blast of lightning exploding before him. A burning pain assaulted the demon, and the next second, his instincts screamed like crazy.
"Single Cut Slash!" Vlad shouted as he concentrated all his Force on his sword and arms before arcs of lightning covered his body and propelled him forward at a shocking speed.
As the Champion Demon Spider regained sight, he only saw a sword bathed in white energy and arcs of lightning slashed at his head.
The sound of flesh being severed and blood spilling echoed across the battlefield as Vlad’s sword cut in half the Champion demon’s head.
The last kick to the jaw made the brain of the Golden Demon Lizard shake inside his skull, and he had just regained his focus when he saw the Demon Spider’s head split in two. Two dark eyes turned toward him in the next second, burning with hatred and wrath.
Fear—an immense sense of fear—rose inside the Champion demon, not one born toward an individual but a race, one much more brutal and evil than the Demonkin.
Vlad felt the Origin Force coming from the Demon Spider flowing into his flesh and blood, and a cold and ruthless smile appeared on his face as arcs of lightning coursed through his body. "Kill all of them!"
The young man’s words echoed across the battlefield, causing the soldiers to burst with killing intent and rage as they saw that one of the massive demon Champions was already gone.
The soldiers with the shield kept the demonic beasts back while the pikeman kept piercing forward, reducing their numbers faster and faster. Of course, they could only do such a great and efficient job thanks to the strongest warriors in the group taking the demon Champions head-on.
Cazan was able to keep a standstill with the Demon Hyena. The beast attacked with ferocity, but the young man managed to use his white club to keep the demon Champion at bay, and his immensely powerful body allowed him to endure the claws and strike.
Mirena and Frank unleashed barrage after barrage of strikes toward the Flame Bear, attacking the creature’s face from all directions and pushing the demon backward.
Those three were doing an excellent job, proving their great power. Still, not everything had an easy time facing the Champion demons, and the Spiked Gorilla was slowly pushing Clasius back.
The man showed excellent skills, enhancing the weight of his hammer to enhance the momentum of his strike and the weight of his shield to defend at critical times, but the demon Champion was too fast and strong for a Level 2 Warrior.
A small blast occurred as the Spiked Gorilla managed to push Clasius’ shield away, leaving the man open for a blow to the chest that could very well be deadly.
"Die!" The Spiked Gorilla shouted with rage and killing intent as his dark Force gathered in his fist, ready to send a ferocious punch.
Yet, just as the Champion demon was ready to strike, three arrows charged with a sharp Force flashed toward his face. The demon was shocked by the speed and strength of the arrows, and even more so as they seemed to head directly toward his eyes!
Even a Champion demon could die if arrows pierced his eyes, so the Spiked Gorilla could only stop his attack and raise his right arm as a shield. That prompt action protected his eyes but exposed him, and Clasius did not hesitate.
"AHHHH!" Along with a roar of rage and strength, Clasius struck with his hammer, using all his strength and landing a ferocious blow on the right shoulder of the Spiked Gorilla.
Pure agony and pain appeared in the Spiked Gorilla’s eyes as he felt the bones in his shoulder break, but he managed to endure the agony and sent a ferocious kick forward that pushed Clasius more than ten meters!
The young and bulky human could not help but puke blood as that simple kick was more than he could handle.
However, before the Spiked Gorilla could get too happy, a feeling of utter terror assaulted him as he detected a figure appearing on the right side of his body. Immediately, he attempted to block with his arm, but the last attack had incapacitated it, and before he could do anything, a small sword pierced through his right ear!
"Single Pierce!" Amara uttered the name of her Force Skill with a cold smile. She had waited for the perfect time, and a blast of sharp energy now burst inside the Champion demon’s head, erasing the light in its eyes!
A second demonic Champion had fallen!
