The one with the bloody and swollen face was none other than Maron, accompanied by his friends from Good Side Town. There was a vicious light in the eyes of the entire group, but they did not seem nervous as it appeared this wasn’t their first time engaging in such activities.
"It has been a long time since we’ve done this. I can barely control myself."
"We must be fast; the soldiers will appear any time."
"Shh, we must be quiet."
The group continued and opened the door to the dinner hall, where all the children were sleeping. Immediately, the group began to look around until Maron’s eyes focused on a young girl near them.
Due to his bloody mouth, Maron could barely speak, but still, he forced himself as he pointed at the girl’s bed. Immediately, all the group members turned to the girl, and a disgusting smile appeared on their faces as they slowly walked toward her.
The young girl frowned as she seemed to hear the sound of steps. The next second, she opened her eyes, only to see a massive figure thrusting his hands toward her. However, before the figure could touch her, something even faster clashed with his chest with so much strength that it sent him flying toward a wall.
The clash felt almost as if a motorcycle had crashed on him, so the man could not help but scream in pain, which woke up all the children.
Maron and his group were shocked as they did not see what hit one of them. The children woke up and began to scream as they saw their presence, causing the group to panic and immediately think of running away.
They showed no concern for their wounded friend and turned to the gates, but someone was waiting.
Vlad stared at the group, his eyes showing a monstrous sense of coldness and disgust. He was barely controlling himself from shattering their skulls right here and now.
When Maron and the rest saw Vlad standing at the door, their fear increased to the point that they could not contain themselves from trembling. That was a man capable of fighting a hippopotamus the size of a dinosaur, so how could a group of six ordinary people who only knew how to bully the weak face him?
One of the members turned around and lunged toward one of the children, seemingly trying to get a hostage, but before he could get near them, a figure clashed into his chest and sent him to the ground, vomiting blood.
It was only then Maron and the group saw the figure of the small yellow cat appear, which looked at them with utter disgust and did not bother to hide his killing intent while protecting the children.
Vlad knew exactly what Maron and his group meant by "children’s games," so he sent Jormungandr to wait for them in the darkness while he followed the group from behind.
Before Maron or the rest of his group could do anything, Vlad flashed forward and sent a blow to the stomach of each of them, making them fall to the ground and puke blood due to the massive internal damage.
Of course, Vlad could have easily slaughtered them had he not contained himself, but if he were just going to kill them, he would not have waited all this time.
A few moments later, Lieutenant Mitchel and a group of soldiers arrived in the room. The group had come running once they heard the sound of the children’s screams, and their eyes widened as they saw Vlad and Jormungandr, along with Maron and a group of six bleeding men, on the ground.
"Sir Vlad, what is happening?"
Lieutenant Michel approached Vlad and spoke with a voice filled with confusion. Even if there was animosity between Vlad and Maron, he did not understand why a battle would arise in this place.
Vlad turned toward Lieutenant Mitchel and spoke in a cold voice.
"I followed them to this place and hindered them from achieving their goal."
Lieutenant Mitchel’s frown only deepened as he heard that since there was nothing valuable here, and all the food had been placed in a different location. However, all of a sudden, his eyes began to widen as a sense of realization struck him, and he began to look at the frightened children and how the group was very close to the bed of a young girl.
Lieutenant Mitchel could not finish the sentence as a sense of disgust filled him, and he glanced at the group, finally understanding what they were after in this place.
"Orlando, take these men to the basement and cage them there!"
Lieutenant Michel had just shouted an order to one of the soldiers, but Vlad intervened, his black eyes full of resolution.
