Vlad had to be very careful not to hinder or damage the Runic Set in the Bloodline Soldier. Luckily, even with that added complication, it did not take long for him to finish engraving the Demon Cage Runic Formation above Theodoro’s heart.
After the runic engraving was completed, Vlad placed his hand on the parchment and sent forward his energy, charging the runic formation that held the demon Champion’s soul. The next second, the thin black tendrils emerged and charged into the Demon Cage Runic Formation in Theodoro’s chest.
Immediately, immense pain assaulted the Bloodline Soldier as he felt waves of fire coursing through his veins. It was agonizing, but he clenched his teeth, keeping his body perfectly steady, making sure not to unleash a single scream or move a muscle as he knew the importance of this exhibition.
Luckily for Major General Theodoro, the agony did not last long, and once the demon’s soul was sealed inside his body, awe appeared on his face as a wave of power began to course through him. It flooded his flesh and blood, improving his physical might, and it even nurtured his spirit, enhancing his cultivation speed, which was already high thanks to his Devil Champion Bloodline.
’With this potential, there is a chance I could break beyond Level 10 and become a High Champion!’ Theodoro could barely contain the excitement that coursed through his soul. As he focused on the demon’s soul sealed inside his body, he learned more wonders about the Demon Soul Master Strength System.
The leader of the Bloodline Soldiers could feel the new abilities that were now contained in his heart and did not hesitate to activate them. His Demon Cage Runic Formation glowed as the demon soul’s power burst, transforming the flesh of his arms into metal and his hands into demonic claws.
"Amazing!" Theodoro could not help but shout as he felt the immense power that he could now express through his arms, drawing the focus of all the soldiers who looked at that power with wonder and desire.
Vlad smiled as he saw the craving in the eyes of the soldiers. He did not wait and chose to strike while the iron was hot. "Major General Theodoro, you are now a Demon Soul Master. The demon soul trapped inside your body will nurture your flesh and spirit while granting you access to demonic abilities. You can even summon the demon soul to fight by your side, but you must be careful as all damage is permanent."
Theodoro hastily nodded his head, making sure to engrave those words in his mind as if they were a divine decree. He was not alone since all the soldiers made sure to remember them.
Vlad waited a moment, allowing the awe and wonder about the Demon Soul Master Strength System to grow in the minds of the soldiers before waving his hand, bringing out one hundred and twenty-two parchments from his space ring.
"Distribute these parchments among the soldiers. Overlord will tell you whom to hand them over." Vlad commanded Major General Theodoro before turning toward three of the 19 Bloodline Soldiers and signaling them to approach him.
Major General Theodoro did not dare to delay the task given by the Xaos King. He communicated with Overlord before starting to shout names, making soldiers walk forward and handing them parchments with the demon soul-sealing runic formation.
The soldiers waited in silence, not moving a muscle and hoping that Major General Theodoro would utter their names. The initial apprehension about sealing a demon soul had vanished and now everybody wanted to obtain one.
As Major General Theodoro handled the distribution of the parchments, Vlad was engraving the Demon Cage Runic Formation in the three most powerful and accomplished Bloodline Soldiers. With every rune he made, his experience and skill improved, diminishing the time and effort it took to build. During his first work, it took nearly three hours per rune, but now Vlad was able to engrave all three in less than two hours despite having to maneuver around their Runic Sets!
After finishing with the Demon Cage Runic Formation, Vlad handed a parchment to the Bloodline Warriors and signaled them to carry on. Without hesitation, the trio extended the parchment, focusing on the demon soul in its center before channeling energy into it.
Vlad saw how the three Bloodline Soldiers were able to flawlessly seal the demon soul in their Demon Cage Runic Formation and nodded. He still had more Champion demon souls, but their soul integrity was below 75%, and he was not satisfied with those.
It was better if the soldiers captured demon souls using the new parchments with the improved demon soul-sealing runic formation. That way, the soul’s integrity would be higher, and the benefits in the long run would be much greater.
Vlad turned to the rest of the troops and saw how Theodoro had already finished distributing the parchments to the soldiers. There were still nearly one hundred who did not have one, and they could not help but look at those who had it with envy.
Even if they knew that those soldiers had higher merits, it was human nature to want something and feel bad when others obtained it but you did not.
"Don’t worry. Everybody will get a parchment and the chance to seal a demon’s soul. Those who got it first will have the benefit of becoming Demon Soul Masters sooner, but they will also have the responsibility of helping their comrades with their new power!" Vlad’s words echoed across the soldiers, immediately erasing any sense of injustice in their hearts.
After that was taken care of, Vlad made a signal, making all the soldiers return to their formation as he spoke with a sharp voice full of commanding power. "For the coming weeks, we will stay with you, help take care of the demonic horde in Trigun City, and capture demon Champions. At the same time, I will be engraving the Demon Cage Runic Formation in your hearts."
