Angel did not expect Kyle to find her.
This is the only place she told no one about, not even Kyle. A place amid an old-rugged neighborhood where the residents can only be counted by hands. A place far from the city's busy noise and lights, it is a place for Angel to contemplate essential things.
Angel’s mind has been full of thoughts about Kyle the whole week- some ideas are not as wholesome as the others. Kyle and Angel have been friends for years, something that she cannot give up, but that is not all. There are a lot of questions in her mind-
why now?
Why not before?
Why did he lie?
Is it really a lie?
Is it just the beer?
Or maybe the nightmare?
These random questions and more run around Angel’s head the whole week, significantly affecting her work and life.
She doesn’t want to ask. She is afraid of what Kyle’s answers might be. She plans to spend as much time here in this secluded place of her sanctuary until she gains the courage to ask for clarification or just forget about what happened.
Angel never expected Kyle to find her, so she did not know how to respond at this moment. He is looking at her eye to eye. Her heartbeat is pounding, her mouth is shaking- Angel does not know what to say.
Kyle moved closer.
Angel stepped back, but he pulled her back and closer to him- so close he could hear both his panting and heartbeat. He lifted her chin and made her taste his lips.
Kyle’s kiss is mixed with sadness and anger. He hugs Angel so tight, running his hands all over her body. Kyle moved his lips for seconds to grasp some air, moved away from the coach, looked at Angel and his reluctant resistance. Still, hehe cannot stop himself how- His movement seems to be involuntary. Being rational is the least of Kyle’s concern now, especially when Angel moaned while circularly moving his fingers inside her- it drove him wild.
Angel tries to push him away at first, all in vain. This man is persistent as if he is punishing her for making him wait in agony.
Angel gave up his rational thoughts. She just let her body take over because even if her mind was telling her to stop here, her body wanted more.
Kyle slightly kicked the door closed as the sound of torrid kisses from both of them, along with their gasping and panting, felt the air. When Kyle inserted his fingers deeper, all of Angel’s reservation flew out the window.
Her sweet and sultry voice filled the air as she said, “ uhh.” When Kyle pushed her to bed and went directly to her wetness. As this man buried his head in that sensitive place, Angel’s back arcs with pleasure. She can’t help but swear as Kyle’s tongue conquer her.
Angel pulled Kyle up and kissed wild; she tasted her own aroma as both while her hand moved fast, as it slid inside Kyle’s jeans.
Fast forward into the night, and we see Kyle and Angel sipping coffee while sitting on the old rugged coach that looked as pity full as the whole place.
“What are you doing here?” Kyle asked Angel casually while taking his first sip of coffee.
“Hiding from you, obviously,” Angel mirrored his actions
“Well, you are not doing a great job,” Kyle looked at Angel dearly, giving her a smirk that she reflected as well.
The night would have been long, but it is not enough for these two to share memories and reasons behind their past actions.
“So, are you really gay? There might have been a lot of questions that she would just sit and let unanswered but not this one. Kyle expected this one, but even if he prepared tons of answers to this possible question, he is still as nervous as he can get.
“Because I need to,” Kyle took another sip of his coffee, trying his best to hide his nervousness.
Angel is not sure what Kyle is talking about. Her eyebrows met each other as her subtle forehead lines hint confusion. Kyle recognized this and continued.
“When you confessed to me years before, I would have said I love you too, but….” Kyle’s confession makes Angel’s heart beat faster and makes her anticipate more for Kyle to continue.
“But?...” Angel seems to ask for follow-up questions as Kyle stop midsentence.
“But, someone followed me that day. It is a good thing I noticed him from the back. “
“What do you mean?”
Kyle told Angel everything. Everything he knows, Kyle finally removes the mask he has been wearing for years and years. Now Angel understands Kyle’s reason. How everything is tangled up together. His father is connected with hers and how fate played a game with them as pawns all along.
Angel cried a river when she found out that the reason for his parent’s death was Kyle’s father. She cannot accept that his father is part of a syndicate that protects the oligarchs and that one wrong move had caused his whole life.
Kyle’s father owned hospitals and medical devices; they hold companies focusing on health and insurance. It is ironic that people only see the fruit of your hard work but the tree, or how you came up to that point, seems irrelevant as long as the money keeps on flowing like a river.
No one really questioned Mr. Esteves’ capability or how he got there because he could hire the best doctors and provide the best hospitals in the country. No one knows how. No one really dared to question.
Kyle’s father is a simple man from a humble beginning. He started working as a garbage collector when he was young, raised by a single mom, as a young boy with a big built and potential. Kyle’s father did not have the chance for college, but doors were opened to him in the world of the Mafia.
He spent his youth running over gangs and killing people. Still, unlike the usual pawn of these gang wars, Kyle’s father has both the body and mind and went up the ladder like that.
Years of work made his name noteworthy of a title leader. Still, the world is not a playground for those who use violence- violence is the usual price to pay.
On a stormy night, when Kyle’s father went home, his mother was lying cold on the kitchen floor holding a butcher knife that failed to protect her. In panic and confusion, Kyle’s father ran towards all hospitals. Still, they were all full or pretended to be packed at the sight of this young man with his body covered with tattoos. When they finally land a bed, it is in vain as his mother has breathed her last breath.
That is the time when Mr. Marcus Esteves swore against poverty and power, that it is not enough to have one. You need to have both. Kyle’s father has proven that nothing is impossible if you are eager to get what you want. With all this man’s wits and charm, along with his wiliness to eliminate anyone in his way.
