She took in a deep breath and drawled out " The hell I'm scared of you Bobby, what do you want from me? Didn't I made it clear to you that I neither want to see you nor hear of your existence. And mind you Mister, if you're calling to ask me for money, you're wasting a whole lot of your time " That was not so bad, she praised herself silently.
He was taken aback by her outburst, he hadn't expected her to talk back to him. He had initially thought it was because she had people around her the last time they came and had thought she would shrink into her shell when she was alone with him. He had thought it all wrong.
He thought of what to say to her, all his tricks on her had never worked out " Be careful Ava, watch your back, this smart mouth of yours will become an issue in the nearest future. And I'm not done with you, like I said, watch your back " and the line went dead.
Even after the call ended, she still stood there, shocked. Why were these people after her life? When she was finally happy that she was free and independent, they still came. They never left, you know. The voice in her head reminded. Oh shut up! She fired back.
He had warned her to be careful. Knowing Bobby for who he was, especially if he decided to come after her, she knew she had to very careful. She couldn't be sure to entrust her life at the King's mansion.
She went back to bed but didn't sleep immediately. She spent an hour thinking about her miserable. Though, the more time she spent with the King's family, she was starting to become happy. She closed her eyes and forced herself to sleep.

" Ava, can you quickly get these at the market for me? My hands are tied as you can see " Maggie said pleadingly, it was evident in her voice that she was tired.
Ava smiled " Sure, let me have the list and money and I'll be back before you know it "
Maggie handed her the list and she turned to leave but stopped suddenly, as though she remembered something.
" Maggie, can you please let Alex know I went to the market if he comes looking for me? " She asked with a smile.
Maggie returned her smile " Sure. It's the least I could for you, Thank you Ava. You've really lifted a burden off my shoulders "
Ava waves her hands dismissively " Come on, this is nothing. I'll be back soon " She said with a little wave and went out.
Getting the exact stuffs Maggie wanted was not as difficult as she feared it would be.
Balancing the heavy bags in her two hands, she waited by the side of the road, waiting for a taxi to show up. The sun's energy was really baring down on her, she thought as she placed her stuff on the ground and wiped away the sweat which was starting to form on her temple.
Thank goodness, she thought as she saw a taxi driving coming her way. About time, she thought as she waved it down.
" King's mansion " She said and got into the car. She was arranging the stuff she bought from the market and didn't look at the driver's face.
" Missed me? "Her head snapped around as she registered the words and found the voice familiar. It was Bobby who posed as a taxi driver.
" You?! " She shrieked.
" I told you I would show up soon, didn't I ? " He looked at her through the rearview mirror and winked.
He pouted but Ava knew it was all fake " What's up with the look though? I was expecting more reaction from you than this "
She rolled her eyes " What will you gain by doing all these? Even kidnapping me to extort money out of me?! You're unbelievable " She spatted out.
He winked " I know, that's why you love me, right? "
She shook her head " You're sick and I wanna puke just at the sight of you " She said in disgust.
He eyed her " You should be scared you know "
She rolled her eyes " And why would I do that? "
He gave her an evil smirk " Because you're about to be sold "
She looked stunned " Wh... What?! " She whispered hoarsely.
He nodded and muttered some profanities at a driver he almost hit with the car. He glanced at her through the rearview mirror and gave her an ugly smile " Sorry about that princess, the buyer wants his product unscathed so I have to make sure I don't leave a mark on you "
" Why?! " She asked again in a whisper.
He frowned, feigning confusion " Why what?! "
Ava threw him a dirty glare, not minding that her life was in his hands now.
" Oh! You mean why I decided to sell you? " He asked with a grin.
She didn't answer and instead, looked out of the window.
" Well, I needed some cash, I told you the last time we came to your beautiful mansion but you didn't hear me out, did you? " He looked at her accusingly.
" So you decided to sell a human because you needed cash? " She whispered hoarsely. She felt so sick that she almost toppled over.
He shrugged " At least I had the decency to ask you for the cash, didn't I? "
Ava twisted her mouth in disgust " Can you hear yourself well? You had the gut to ask me for cash and you're not even ashamed? "
He eyed her from the mirror " I asked you to give me the money but you didn't! " He shouted as he was getting frustrated.
" To hell with you and the money! " She fired back, her eyes blazing. Right then, she didn't even fear for her life. She couldn't withstand the guy's nonsense and continued to listen to him spouting nonsense.
He swerved over to a side of the road and turned off the ignition. There were no moving cars so he was lucky.
" Very good, I've always known your smart mouth will get you into trouble one day but I never knew the day would arrive this soon. You're getting sold but still had the gut to run your mouth carelessly " He said and came around to open the door.
