Azian Prince of Dragons book 1 Chapter 29

: Alpha and Omega ABIGAIL'S POV The strange thing I learnt were called "subways" were quite long and faster than wagons. I was standing up chatting with Ena while Anna and Maria sat down with the boys behind us. It was really a strange world and people kept looking at us in a strange way. Ena told me it was because of our peculiar clothing, and assured me once we had reached our destination, she would as I quote 'update ' us. "Are you sure we will be safe in this realm?" I asked Ena in a low voice as I watched Azian and Edwin chat away. People kept looking at Azian and whispering amongst themselves, which made me feel uncomfortable, one actually asked if we had thought of taking him to a modelling agency, whatever that is. "He will be once we mask his aura" Ena replied glancing in their direction. She sighed, "it will be hard work though, yes our realm is much safer than yours but nevertheless there are still those that hunger for power, its even worse here , because some witches practice the dark arts freely," At the mention of the dark arts I swung my head immediately, facing her, my face showing one emotion. Shock. "The dark arts?" I repeated. She nodded, " those that follow the leaders of the Shadow, a group of higher class witches specialising in the dark arts, I'm sorry to say the witches of this realm pay no regards to the rules and norms of our ancestors" I took all this in, well this was definitely a problem, but either way, this place was far safer than Riota. "We really must mask his aura then," Ena nodded, she paused studying me for a few seconds. I turned to sit with Anna and Maria when Ena touched my arm. "Are you sure you want to do this?" She asked calmly. I turned back to face her, folding my arms. I gulped softly, I knew I was putting my life and Anna's in great danger by protecting Azian. I also knew that if anything should happen that would make Azian turn against us, then my efforts would all have been in vain, and I would be the last of the line of the great witches. But as long as their was hope..hope, I would not hesitate to protect him. I nodded, "yes, yes I am sure" I answered looking straight into her dark eyes. She smiled, "well, then we have a lot of work to do then with them, masking their Aurora and training their dragons" I nodded, " good thing my aunt gave you those dragon books, have you read anything of interest pertaining to them?" She thought for a second furrowing her eye brows, "well, I know we need a hell of a large back yard" We both laughed at this. "Luckily our new house has plenty of that," "Yes, lucky indeed" Our laughter died, with her pausing for a second, then shaking her head, " it won't matter" she muttered underneath her breath. "What won't matter?" I asked eyeing her. She looked up at me, " it's nothing much, I just thought I remembered reading that they have mates" "Mates!" I echoes loudly. Everyone looked at me and I blushed furiously, before lowering my voice, "dragons have mates?" I asked. This would be bad. Really bad. Her eyes studied for a second before answering, " I don't know about all the dragons, but I remember golden dragons have counters specifically created for them," I breathed out heavily, " this is bad" "Stop worrying, its not as bad as you think" "What do you mean its not as bad as I think? Mates can either be helpful or manipulative, and let me tell you fate loves to laugh" Ena smiled at my little comment, " you don't have to worry because, firstly, according to what I read is that, his counter is usually someone who has some sort of higher power, it could be a god" "Like death" She looked at me confused. "Edwin said a golden dragon fell for death creating his species, the liche" "Aah, he is a liche dragon?" Ena asked surprised as she glanced at Edwin. I nodded. "Yes, a god, or an elf, or a hybrid, a being that could handle his power, we don't need to worry about that because beings like that in this realm are few and surprisingly rare. " This calmed me down a bit. "And even if his counter is in this realm, dragons live for hundreds of years, I assure you he will only meet his counter in his third century or so, so don't worry, though fate loves to laugh, it also likes to repeat itself," I felt better hearing that, as I looked around at the humans still staring at Azian, some so focused on the things Ena said were called 'phones' to see the sight which Azian was. Among all these humans, weak and pathetic, did they know the most powerful being in their world was a few feet away from them. A thought crossed my mind as I studied the humans, None of these humans would ever have true power. There were too many things that distracted them in this world. From their phones, to machines..when would they ever be one with nature and its forces. I pitied them. Their souls were so empty. I felt a hand touch mine sending an unearthly round of power through my spine. I looked down to see Azian. I smiled at him and he smiled back as I squeezed his hand, the machine slowly slowing down. "This is not our stop" Ena informed as people left and some entered, I sighed waiting patiently our destination. AZIANS POV. It was all strange to me, Abigail said something about a being in a new realm, but frankly, I had seen enough in the last few days. Yawning, I turned to Abi, she reminded me of mother, of home, I was so tired and my eye lids felt like they were closing on their own. People kept staring at me which made feel angry and uncomfortable but Edwin helped a lot. I missed father, I even missed Elzar, but I knew they were all okay. I looked down at my small stubby feet and grinned, from the corner of my eyes I saw people gasping and staring. Was it wrong to smile here? I looked up as a woman stood in front of me. My eyes landing on a little girl, same age as me. Her skin reminded me of chocolate and her hair flowed over the woman's shoulder where she rested her head fast asleep in the woman's arm. I couldn't take my eyes of her, the way her curly hair blew lightly in the wind, I had this urge to reach out and touch her. Beautiful. "Who said that?" I asked looking around. "Azian? Are you okay?" Abigail asked. I nodded, my eyes searching for that voice. "That's Alpha" Another voice said. This one sounded less deep, and more playful. I could hear my heart beat pick up. My little fingers trembling. "and who are you?" I whispered. The voice laughed and my eyes searched in vain for its holder. "You won't find me, " "Why not?" I whispered back "Because I'm a part of you" My eyes widened, "you're my dragon?" I felt him smile, "no, thats the first voice you heard, quite grumpy for a new born. " "So who are you?" "omega, your power,I help you handle it, of course since were babies-" "I'm five, I'm not a baby" I retorted. "So am I, toddler" I frowned. "Like I was saying, since we are young, I still don't have full control over my elements" I nodded. Whatever that was. I looked up again, my eyes freezing on the little girl. "She's beautiful" Grrr. Alpha agreed. We were so busy staring at her we didn't realise the train had stopped and people were getting out. "Let's go baby" Abigail cold tugging my hand. I nodded my eye's refusing to leave the gift that was before us. Just before I stepped out she opened her eyes. A lovely shade of golden brown, resting directly on me. She smiled just as the doors closed and the thing began to move away. THE END OF PART 1 AZIAN PRINCE OF DRAGONS.
