Amidst the Cloud Sea, the Joyful True Buddha, leading four Great Freedom Bodhisattvas, stormed in angrily. Before he could even stand firm, his voice, deliberately raised to conceal his guilty conscience, quickly echoed: "The person has been found!"
The Future Buddha instinctively furrowed his brows. Ever since Houtu Huangdi Qi descended to the mortal world, he had actually lost much hope for the future.
Even if one was as noble as an Emperor, daring to interfere with a great calamity would still lead to being decisively suppressed, clearly showing the determination of both sects.
Though he was also a sect leader, he ultimately belonged to the future. In this world, he was considered the one with the least authority among the six, and truly couldn’t stir much trouble.
Yet even so, the Future Buddha still harbored a tiny, insignificant luxury in his heart.
At least that sole variable still lived in the mortal realm.
Unfortunately, now this final variable seemed to be on the verge of being snuffed out.
So-called achievements and fame are all worthless; on those counts, didn’t Houtu Huangdi Qi surpass Shen Yi considerably, yet what was the outcome?
Moreover, that boy surnamed Shen was even involved in interfering with the Heavenly Dao.
No one would show him any mercy; even if the Future Buddha was reluctant, he wouldn’t dare speak on his behalf at such a time.

He had led the other five True Buddhas to slay the Human Emperor to first gain control of this part of the human world, but now that something had gone awry, he couldn’t escape responsibility.

At the indication of the Joyful True Buddha, several Great Freedom Bodhisattvas stepped forward with righteously indignant expressions.
Upon this remark, Emperor Dongji suddenly raised his head, his eyes twitching slightly.
Back then, Shen Yi had manipulated him, making him a laughingstock within the two sects, and he naturally wished to grind his bones and scatter his ashes, just waiting to see how miserable Shen’s end would be.
But now, Emperor Dongji had a feeling of impending trouble.
Even in these worldly oppositional circumstances, could that boy still make any move?
The Upper Pure Sect Leader stood up unhurriedly; Shen Yi, being from Lingxu Cave, was considered a disciple of his sect. Under these circumstances, he naturally stood up to represent the attitude of The Three Pure Ones.

The sect leaders ruled over heaven and earth; logically speaking, there shouldn’t be anything in this world that could move them.
Yet at this moment, the entire Cloud Sea plunged into deathly silence.

But then someone took it seriously and single-handedly emerged from the calamity to claim the position of Immortal Emperor, not as some powerless puppet but in the truest sense, a Lord of Heaven and Earth.
"Decide among yourselves; I’m done with it!"
Emperor Dongji seemed to sense something, his expression shifting slightly, then he turned to leave.
As a First Rank Giant, he more clearly understood the thoughts of these leaders.
The two sects could not forsake the mortal world; even the slightest risk was unacceptable.
A lightly spoken word from the Yuqing Sect Master made Emperor Dongji halt resentfully.
The three elderly figures no longer looked at Dongji but instead gazed quietly at the three Buddhas of the Bodhi Sect.
"Back when the Joyful True Buddha set the terms of the debate, the winner would become the Immortal Emperor."
The Present Buddha pondered for a moment, a smile on his face that couldn’t conceal a hint of cold anger: "It was supposed to be his from the start, then let it be his!"
Hearing this, the Future Buddha raised his eyebrows.
