At The Crossroad Chapter 10

Chapter nine Zack's POV. James touch on my palms stops me. I look over to him, wary at his unsureness. "I can do it." I scoff. Oh, yeah, I'm sure I can. I think to myself. He shakes his head, "are you sure?" I breath out, tired of his questioning. "Yes." Saying that, he let go of my hand, but then is quick to hold it again. "Show me how you'll inject them." Oh, wow, he's a superhero for this cows. He seems like he would protect them to the very end. No danger is to come to them. Luke I mention earlier, speaking of cows, I have much knowledge about them to know how to inject them. Although it has been a while since I do this thing, but it wouldn't hurt to want to try again. I still remember clearly, I made sure of myself. Once shown him how to hold the needle, how that pinch it into their skin, and how to seep it in, he let go of my hand again. "I warn you, remember that," he tells me in some sort of warning. I want to know what his words mean, but I know better than to ask. He doesn't want me to do this before, that's why he is scaring me. I use the thought to fight the afraidness in me and walk inside the shed. The sound of the cows fills my hearing as I walk past the ones near me, whom has received that their own injection. The ones farther from me are the remaining ones. I prepare myself to the behind of a very cow. Waggling his tail, I made sure it didn't hit me, as I glance back to James. He remains silent, a bad coach I'll call him, as I dip the inject into the left hind leg of the cow, making her make a low growling sound. Quickly dejecting the needle, I turn to James after and pout at him. "I did it!" My tone is by all means triumphant. "Uh-ho." I hear him say, causing me to frown at his remark, but when I see that his eyes aren't placed on me, but past me, I realize something is wrong. "She's behind me?" "Run." On his accord, I pick up a track, dashing to where James is — outside of the shed. After all, it all pays out that I'm not as good as I think I am. But I used to this same thing, really. James' warning me not to look behind me, the anxiety as a result ties down my legs but I continue running. Behind me, I can hear thumping sound, meaning she's behind me, and the additional sound of hers does wake up my senses as well. Getting to the end, I jump over the wooden, my hands having being placed upon the top, used to pull myself up, unfortunately, trip with my left leg and fall with my right hand hitting the floor first. I groan at the sharp pain that accompanies, it damn wasn't gentle a bit. I cry out, James already at my side lift up the now broken wrist to hiss at it. "It's that bad, really?" I don't even know if I'm asking. Do I even want to know? I have a bad feeling I got injured hard. The pain still settles throughout my body, making me gnash. "It's redden. You've got to hold your breath..." He trails off. Just with his hands holding my broken one, I feel more pain. "What?" I hadn't finished with exhaling when a crack evolves, him, home-remedy-resettling my bones. "Fuck...!" This time I make an ear piercing wail. After some minutes, I begin to heave breaths, while James holds me close to his chest. My head reels in the painful state I'm in. He picks me up, saying, "let's get you some bandages and pain reliever," and I resist. "No, I can't. I don't think I can even stand up right now." I feel like my hand is going to fall off if I make any movement. "I have given you a first aid already, the bandages are just to help you heal faster and hold your bones together." James is being persuasive and very gentle, so kind of him. I frown as I don't think deeply into it anymore, and just stand. James aids, and guides me to the dining room. Plopping down on one of the seats, he leaves me with saying a word, but his finger motioning that I stay put. Soon, he comes back and in his hands, I see a kit. He kneels in front of me, and begin to dress my arm up with such skills. "You have learnt to do this numerous times?" He blinks up at me in a glance. "Yeah. I had to learn it. The farm work isn't that easy and fun as one think in the beginning." "No work is easy and fun when you're inside it. There are some times when writing will be a burden for me." It is truth. There are times like that...times like now. "You're right." He is soon done with dressing me up, and leaves again with the kit. Just about disappearing, he tells, "stay fixed." And if I don't? I pout inwardly at the thought. When he gaits backs to me, there's a cup in his hand, gently blowing it. "I had Uncle made it for you, but I didn't let him know you got hurt, that's why ou haven't seen him." He explains while I sip the tea. Hmm, delicious, and somewhat medicinal...like it's made of potent, and privy herbal stuff. "But I'm sure that man is getting suspicious." I laugh at that. "He sure should be with the way you're acting." "Now, go and sleep." He's giving me the authoritative tone. I chortle more. "Won't work." "You really need to." At this time, I'm almost done with the tea, so I nod and drop the cup, then stride to my room
