Even though the void creatures were weaker than he thought, he barely culled their numbers. Like a meat grinder, the Chaos Blades slaughtered through the void creatures. The deep red blade swirled around him like a tornado. The void creatures that jumped at him were shredded into pieces as he kept walking.
It was then that he realized he was starting to slow down as hundreds of void creatures jumped at him nonstop. He also noticed that the Void Gate was still dumping the void creatures like a waterfall; it was not done yet. Then, a few void creatures went through the chaos blades, bolting toward him.
Zara stepped over and stood in front of Tang Shaoyang. Dozens of spikes made of void energy burst out from the ground, catching all seven void creatures that resembled leopards. As they went deeper into the void creature horde, more of them went through the tornado blades. They started to encounter the stronger void creatures, for them to go through the gap between his one hundred Chaos Blades.
Avyn joined the fray as more and more void creatures passed through. Tang Shaoyang activated [Divine Armory] and took out a bow along with a quiver with thirty arrows. Believe it or not, he had a skill for archers, [Marking Shot]. He never tried the skill until now, and he did not know if the bow and the skill were enough to compensate for his lack of mastery in a bow.
Tang Shaoyang nocked the arrow and pulled the string to the maximum stretch. Then he focused on further targets. He did not imbue Heavenly Energy or Chaos Energy into his arrow, purely relying on his skill, [Marking Shot]. Then he found a void creature that went through the tornado blade.
The void creature resembled a monkey, one and a half meters tall with uneven arms. He aimed at the head, at least, he thought so, and released the arrow.
The arrow pierced through the air and headed straight toward the monkey. To his surprise, the monkey immediately sensed the immediate danger coming from it. It was unknown what the monkey did, but it managed to push its body to the side and the arrow missed.
Tang Shaoyang was surprised by how accurate the shot was. It was his first time using a bow, and it was satisfying for his first time. The surprise did not end there because the missed arrow turned around and pierced the monkey's head from behind. His skill, [Marking Shot] was homing. That explained why his first shot was accurate, it was his skill, not his talent.
The void creature immediately fell from the air. He thought he killed it, but the monkey immediately got back on its feet even with an arrow in its head. It was for sure the arrow hit the brain unless the monkey did not have a brain. The monkey got up, but it could not walk properly, swaying to the left and right like it was drunk.
He wondered whether it was the monkey who could not walk straight or because of an arrow in its head. There were a few monkeys passing through, and they ran like a cheetahs, using their uneven arms to make them run faster.
To confirm whether [Marking Shot] was homing or not, he nocked the second arrow. He used the skill, but this time he imbued the arrow with Heavenly Energy. Circulating the Chaos Energy with the Heavenly Gate method, he converted his Chaos Energy into Heavenly Energy. He did not put in that much Heavenly Energy, in case the arrow would break apart for not being able to endure the Heavenly Energy. The arrow was glowing golden, and then he released the arrow.
There were many obstacles between him and the monkey with the arrow in its head. The bigger void creatures blocked his sight, but he could see where exactly the monkey was. He focused on the monkey's chest before releasing the arrow. As he confirmed, the arrow dodged the obstacle and went straight to the monkey. The golden arrow blurred and meandered through the obstacle and pierced the monkey's chest.
The monkey could not react like the first arrow because it could not see the arrow coming. The arrow jabbed into the chest. Despite the explosive power behind the arrow because of the Heavenly Energy, the arrow did not go through the body. It stopped at the monkey's chest, and the monkey flung backward from the impact. This time the monkey died, maybe because of the heavenly energy or maybe because its weakness was in the chest.
"That's the limitation for the [Marking Shot]. The arrow will stop the moment it hits the target…" He muttered in a low voice. He expected the arrow to hit the void creature behind the monkey with how much power in the arrow. "What if I mark several targets?"
What if he marked ten targets instead of one, would the arrow go to the ten targets, or did he need ten arrows for that? For some reason, he was interested in finding it. This was him, casually picking up a new weapon and trying a new skill.
Through his Chaos Eyes, he changed his sight into a bird few as he nocked another arrow. This time he put a little more heavenly energy since he tried to kill ten targets with one arrow. He quickly picked up ten void creatures that were close to each other, but there was still some distance between them.
Tang Shaoyang released his arrow. The golden arrow went blurry and moved toward the first target as he expected. The first arrow pierced through the first target and moved to the next target. It worked as he thought it would. In the span of five seconds, ten void creatures fell and died. They fell at the same time which was even more satisfying than landing the hit itself. As he expected, the arrow stopped at the tenth target's head and this time the void creatures died. It confirmed his suspicion that what killed the void creature was his heavenly energy, not the arrow.
"This is getting interesting." Despite his disappointment with how weak the void creatures were, he found something interesting.
