"You are sure about that?" Wulfrun challenged, returning Angel's daring stare.
"Enough!" Xavier thundered. The alphas and everyone that heard him went very still.
Angel took a few steps back, thinking to leave, then went very still when Wulfrun said, "If he is treating her right, she would not be acting out though …"
Angel reacted before he could think to contain himself. He rushed the other alpha, channelling all the pent-up anger and frustration inside him and before anyone could react, Angel was pinning the other alpha to a nearby tree.
"Shut the fuck up!" Angel snarled in a low menacing tone.
Wulfrun shapeshifted into a big black Were and swiped his claw at Angel's face, leaving lined claw gashes on his cheek, and blood trickling down his face. Angel felt himself grow until he was glowering down at the other Were. He lifted him away from the tree and slammed him hard against the ground. Darrow stepped forward, trying to intervene but Angel, snarled at him, and the other Were paused.
"Angel, stop!" Xavier commanded but he ignored him, leapt and landed over Wulfrun. The other Were pushed him away and clawed his side. Angel grabbed him by the neck with one paw, not bothering to shield himself from the other alpha wolf’s attacks. He stabbed Wulfrun in the flank, grinding his claw in until the other Were howled aloud. He then pulled out his bloodied claws and raised them with the intent to tear out Wulfrun’s throat.
A very strong hand grabbed his paw, causing him to look back. Xavier pulled him off of Wulfrun tackling him to the ground, he held him there and repeated. "Calm down or you will kill him!"
"I want to!" Angel snarled back.
"No, you don't. You are just pissed. Calm the fuck down!" Xavier replied. Angel tried to get away but Xavier didn't let him.
"Well, this is something, I left you guys alone for five minutes and this happened!" Cole said besides the two. When Xavier let Angel go. He got up and saw Nadia with the others gaping at them. He stormed away into the woods, still in his werewolf form and started to run. When Nadia made to go after him, Isabelle stopped her.
"He needs to calm down," she said.
"Oh, my God," Nadia whispered to herself. "I need to go to him. He is wounded," she whispered shakily to Isabelle, but she held her still.
"Xavier will get him. Calm down," Isabelle said.
When Nadia turned, she saw that someone had placed a shirt over Wulfrun’s groins and Amelie was kneeling beside him, trying to check the wound on his side. The other alpha laughed and blood splattered from his mouth.
"Damn, that was a rush. it's been a while since I have gotten my ass kicked in that way," he rasped and broke out laughing again.
"Christ, you are such a manic!" Cole said to Wulfrun.
"Shut up and let her take a look at you. You moron!" Darrow yelled.
"Sorry, doc," Wulfrun said. Amelie literally stabbed him in the chest with a syringe. Wulfrun grunted hard and then passed out.
"Help me get him to the medical room," Amelie said. Her voice was laced with a bit of anger. Hallec, Darrow and Ash, quickly prance forward to lift the big Were.
"I need to go after Angel, love, I will join you soon," Xavier said.
"I'm coming with you," Cole said.
Isabelle wrapped her arms around Nadia to stop her from following them.
"What happened?" someone asked, and when Nadia raised her eyes to see who it was, she saw it was one of the she-wolves she had seen flirting with Angel.
Tiana glanced at the girl and said, "Nothing just Angel letting Wulfrun know he can't talk shit about his mate."
"Oh!" the girl said and looked somewhat crestfallen.
The ladies ushered Nadia back to their picnic area but she couldn't relax. She kept looking in the direction Angel disappeared into, wanting to see him return with Xavier and Cole.
"Sit down, Nadia, he will be fine, Xavier and Cole will take care of him," Isabelle said.
"I can't believe they resorted to blows. I know Wulfrun was being a jerk but…" Nadia said in agitation. Biting her nail nervously.
"They are alphas, their egos are higher than most. Angel seemed level-headed. Wulfrun can be an arse sometimes, I figured he must have gone too far," Opaline said.
"I saw Angel trying to walk away after Xavier yelled at them to stop. Wulfrun did say something…" Isabelle said in annoyance.
"Wulfrun was mouthing off about Nadia," Tiana said, causing everyone to look at her. "Ash heard Wulfrun advising Angel to tame Nadia,' Tiana explained.
"What?!" Nadia gasped.
"Angel asked him to stop, but he didn't," Tiana added.
"Well, then he deserved what he got. The moron, talking to a Were about his own mate!" Opaline interjected. Nadia felt as if she was being watched when she turned her head in the direction she saw the she-wolf that asked what happened earlier glaring at her.
"So it is your fault then!" the Were spat. Isabelle shot up before the rest could.
"Who the fuck are you?!" Isabelle yelled.
"I'm Elena, alpha Belle, I…"
"What gives you the right to question and accused a woman in a matter regarding her man?" Opaline joined in before she could finish. The Were looked regretful and lowered her gaze. Nadia remembering what Tiana said about making sure people know who she was to Angel, and that being timid would not cut it, stalked forward and said to the girl, "I don't know the kind of fantasy world you are living in, and that is none of my fucking concern. If I see you near my man again, I will fucking carve your guts out!!" Nadia yelled, "if you think that I am bluffing. Try it bitch! I am Nadia Rufus!"
The girl snarled at Nadia. Nadia deftly pulled out the knife Tiana gave her and pressed it to the she-wolf’s throat. “I will not use words next time, bitch!” Nadia said. The she-wolf went pale and then her eyes darken with anger.
Isabelle reached for Nadia and pulled her back, when she turned around she saw Angel, Cole and Xavier watching her about half a mile away. She pulled out of Isabelle’s arms and stalked away, taking a narrow path into the woods.
