I Promise To Kill It.
Jack's POV.
"WHAT IS IT? CAN'T I JUST HAVE PEACE OF MIND IN MY OWN HOUSE??" I questioned the moment I saw my phone ringing out so loud on my bed where I placed it.
I was just coming out from my bathroom with my towel wrapped around my waist.
"My wife is sick and they want me to come over?" I mumbled as I got closer to my phone.
It was an unknown contact but that didn't mean it wasn't the company calling on me to come work for them.
I immediately picked up the call and immediately, the news was passed to me.
"Your wife is awake Jack, I think you should…." The man behind the calls was going to say when ignorantly, I dropped the phone on my bed and ran over to my wardrobe.
"Abby is Awake? Abby isn't dead?" I kept on asking myself as I took out my blue jeans and a white t-shirt to go with it.
I wasn't bothered anymore if I was a billionaire or a commoner. I dashed out of my room with my phone dipped into my pocket and a black slippers to go with my dressing.
Smiles began to erupt from my lips and I guess it was as a result of her surviving the poison which she drank.
I got into my car and without hesitation, I turned the engines of my car on. I drove out of the mansion at full speed as I headed for the hospital.
Just as always, I got to the hospital in time and panting, I ran into the hospital building.
There were so many guests standing at the counter, waiting for the nurse behind it to respond to them.
I wasn't going to do that shit.
"Mrs. Abby??" I asked, looking at the nurse.
"Oh.. hello Mr. Jack.. she was moved to…" she paused as she checked her book log , I guess.
"Moved to room 33 unit 1" she revealed with a smile on her face.
It was obvious that Abby was fine and healthy from the nurse's smiles.
I ran over to room 33 as the nurse specified. I couldn't just wait to see Abby smile at me.
I got to the room door and the moment I opened it slowly, I saw doctor Albert treating her.
I was hoping to get a welcoming smile from Abby but I got the opposite. She frowned and immediately turned her eyes away from me, seeing that I was the one walking into her room.
"Is she okay?" I went closer to Albert as I questioned.
"She is fine Jack.. just give her a little time to heal. You can sit and wait till she begins to talk to you!" Albert suggested calmly but in a mocking way.
I had no other choice than to sit still and watch him treat her for a second. He was going to leave immediately he was done but then, I stopped him.
I followed him out of the room to know the state of Abby's health so I asked him properly.
"Is the baby still in her womb?" I questioned with a curious stare at Albert.
"What?" I wondered, seeing how Albert had frozen for a second, looking at me.
"I can't believe that this is the first question you thought of the moment you heard she's awake , Jack!" Albert uttered in disbelief.
"I don't get it, she's my wife and the baby was supposed to be mine so tell me , Albert!! Is she still with the baby?? Or the baby is dead???"
I asked angrily with my blood already boiling and ready to yell at Albert who was standing before me.
"I'm sorry Jack, but you should ask Abby yourself!" Albert shook his head as he walked out on me.
I was going to go grab him and punch him in the face for ignoring me but I wouldn't want Abby to feel bad after all.
I hissed in anger before going back into the room to see Abby.
She was already well seated on her bed with sudden tears rolling out from her eyes.
I walked up to her, sat closer to her bedside and with a soft stare at her, I spoke up to her.
"What is wrong with you this time Abby?" I asked like a caring husband or fiance should.
She looked up to my eyes and suddenly, I felt pity on her for everything I've done to her.
"Are you seriously asking me that question right now?" She probed looking fierce suddenly.
"I don't understand Abby , you are my wife and…." I was going to say when she had suddenly cut me short.
"Your wife????" She giggled as more tears rolled down her eyes.
"Last time I checked Jack, you abandoned me in the hospital after collapsing on our wedding day. You disliked me the moment you heard that I won't be Able to give birth as a normal lady should!!" She bellowed as she sobbed softly.
"You abandoned my child and I , not knowing what tomorrow holds Jack!" She asserted as she felt shattered within her soul.
I couldn't understand what she was thinking or how sad she felt because I was never going to be her.
"I understand your point Abby but …" I lied so as to get her attention.
"Is the baby still in your womb or is it dead?" I questioned curiously as I smirked looking at her.
"What did you just say?" She stopped crying as she glared at me.
"Is the baby still alive or dead Abby? A simple question that needs a simple response from you!"
I said bluntly without hiding my feelings of knowing the state of the child from her.
"You must be stupid for asking me that Jack!!" She blurted out harshly as she went back to lay on her bed.
"How dare you Abby!!?" I yelled out seeing how disrespectful she was to me.
"You should be ashamed of yourself Jack… I can't believe this is what and why you came to the hospital today!! I wish I never met or love you Jack!!" She ended as she began to sob again, clenching her fingers on her pillow.
"You might regret knowing me Abby but if that baby is still in your womb, I promise to kill it soon. Who knows, maybe I will feed you poison again!" I divulged before walking out of the room with my right hand in my pocket.
