"Why didn't you call me?" Nate yelled and stood up from his chair with such force, enough to draw attention in that small coffee shop. I called him earlier today to catch up with him as it has been a long time.
"Shhh! Shut up and sit down," I hissed. I just told him about the whole baby thing and that's the reason for his behavior. He looked so damn angry.
"I know you guys are in a good place now but none of this would have happened if he hadn't stormed out that day, Becca," he muttered in annoyance and I rolled my eyes.
"Not this again, Nate. We both went through hell because of this but I'm not going to blame him or you or anyone. It just happened and it's over so just leave it," I mumbled silently, not meeting his gaze and neither of us spoke for a while.
"I'm so sorry, Becs." He whispered in a soft voice and looked at me with so much concern. I gave him a small smile and tucked my hair behind my ears. The coffee had gone cold and I looked outside the window, watching the world pass by.
"I can't believe you moved in with him so soon," he spoke, interrupting my thoughts.
"I love him, Nate and he wants to be with me. I feel the same way too," I replied.
"Sure, whatever makes you happy," he smiled and held my hand in a comforting manner.
"Enough about me now. So what's new with you?" I asked, changing the subject immediately.
"Nothing much. Work is just the same and I went out with this girl in my office," he said, running his eyes all over my face.
"Really? What's her name?" I grinned widely but he scrunched his eyebrows in confusion.
"Uhh...I'll let you know soon," he gave me a tight smile, making me frown at his response.
"What with the secrecy, Wilson? Spill it," I tapped on the table lightly and he let out a huge sigh.
"There is no one, Becca. I just thought....umm..forget it. It's stupid," he shook his head with a small smile and took out his wallet to pay but I urged him to go on.
"Nate, what is it?"
"Fine, I can't pretend anymore. I just thought at least a small part of you would be jealous if I said I was going out with some girl but I guess I was wrong." He rushed out, too embarrassed to meet my gaze.
Wow, did he really like me that much?
"Nate--" I started but he stopped me, throwing few bills on the table and stood up.
"I really wish you hadn't met Xavier. Fuck, he is one lucky bastard." He ran his hands through his hair and stormed off without hearing me out while I sat there in shock trying to process everything.
Fuck, how can we be friends if he still isn't over me?
"Hey, all okay?" Xavier hugged me from behind as I went inside the kitchen to get a glass of water. It was 7 in the evening when I reached home and Hannah was in her room playing so we had the kitchen and living room to ourselves.
To be honest, it was a bit awkward in the beginning, living with them but now I was used to it. Xavier used to drop us both at school and head to work every morning. We fell into a regular routine and things were pretty normal for now.
"Uhhh...yeah, I guess so," I replied vaguely and he twirled me around so that I was facing him.
"Okay, what is it?"
"I think Nate still has feelings for me," I said, looking down at my fingers and he lifted my chin so that I met his burning gaze.
"I know that. I mean, nobody can get over a girl like you easily," he stated genuinely making me blush and I tried to hide it by giving him a playful look.
"I'm serious, Xavier."
"I'm serious too. Why is that bothering you? Do you--" he stopped, swallowing hard and I shook my head immediately.
"No. It's just that I don't want to lose him as a friend. We have so much history," I explained, caressing the veins on his muscular arms as he pulled me closer towards him.
"Just give him some time. He will come around," he kissed my forehead and I nodded in understanding.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Anything, baby." He smiled, nibbling my earlobe making me almost forget what I was about to ask him.
Damn him and his skilled mouth.
"I know a small part of you thinks that I got over him so fast."
"Actually I did when I saw you guys kissing. I felt like someone punched me in the gut but then I realized that you wouldn't have given me a chance if you really loved him. You wouldn't have gotten close to Hannah if you wanted to get over him," he replied, looking into my eyes and I let out a huge breath that I didn't know I was holding.
"That's true. I've never felt this way with Nate and that's when I realized that I was never in love with him in the first place. Guess, it was just a stupid crush." I smiled and rested my head against his chest, hugging him tightly.
"Awww, I think I'm going to cry now," he faked a dramatic tone and I pulled back, making a face at him.
Way to ruin the moment!
"Jerk!" I muttered under my breath and started to walked away from him but he pulled me flush against his chest.
"What was that?" he demanded in a deep voice and I was a goner already.
What was with men and their deep voice?
"I said jerk," I repeated myself and smirked, folding my arms in front of my chest and his gaze fell to my breasts. He pushed me against the kitchen counter, taking me by surprise, and trailed his fingers down my neck so slowly that I started to breathe hard in anticipation and my body was already tingling with excitement.
Would I ever get tired of his touch?
"You smell so good." He breathed out and I could feel the hot air of his breath on my face, making me swallow hard. Fuck, I could feel the wetness pooling between my legs as his fingers made their way down to my breasts and he gave them a squeeze softly. "Dad?" We heard Hannah's voice and quickly moved away from each other, adjusting ourselves.

"Yeah baby?" he called out and she came inside the kitchen and looked at our flushed faces.
"I can't find my eraser," she pouted innocently and he scooped her in his arms immediately.
"Come on, I'll help you find it." He walked outside the kitchen and turned around to look at me with a small pout on his beautiful face. I folded my arms in front of my chest and shook my head with a small smile. After watching them disappear in her room, I let out a huge breath, trying to control my raging hormones and went inside our room to change into some comfortable clothes.
