Amber Sword Chapter 401

Chapter 401: Scene 118 Final Battle (6) (Part 3, complete) _2 “I’ll go with you,” Qian suddenly replied, clutching her war-hammer and staring intently at the gigantic creature in front of them—though it appeared to be lifeless at the moment, motionless, and devoid of any breath. Yet, all three of them understood that the moment they moved, the creature would instantly launch an attack: “If you die, neither Medisha nor I are confident in dealing with this monster. To protect what’s left of the Gray Wolf Mercenary Group, Lord, your life is my life—” Brand was taken aback. “Miss Qian is right, Lord,” Medisha also responded, softly persuading: “Without this monster, even if I am alone, Conrad isn’t my match—Wizard Hunter, I have fought many such opponents among the Miner people.” “Alright,” the young man knew this was no time for argument, besides with Qian’s help their chances indeed improved. He drew the second card of the day from his bosom: “Let’s split up and take action.” Saying this, Brand revealed the card— (Legendary Radiance V, White) [Treasure – Artifact/Divine Artifact Creature, Level 7 Constructed Creature] The Silver Foal possesses floating ability. ‘Secret Silver Crafted—’ As soon as the Destiny Card appeared in the air, it quickly formed an array on the forest floor. White light flickered within the array, accompanied by the long neigh of a warhorse. His action immediately provoked the Earth Envoy Eckmen’s counterattack—Conrad was no fool, fearing that the brainless insect envoy would be led away with a diversionary tactic, he had it stay put with orders to attack anyone trying to bypass it to pursue him. And magic was one of the conditions. The moment it moved, Qian and Medisha simultaneously charged from the left and the right. The war-hammer and the spear clashed together with a ‘click,’ blocking the creature’s attack. Although both girls were only at Lower Gold strength, Qian, also an envoy, resonated with the Thunder Element, while Medisha, as a ghostly body, had comprehended the Soul Element. The interweaving of these elements barely managed to fend off Eckmen’s strike. Even so, both girls grunted while retreating three or four steps before stabilizing themselves. At this moment, the white light in front of Brand had faded, and a Secret Silver Warhorse glowing with metallic brilliance and sporting wings stepped out of the array. Its ruby-embellished eyes glanced at Brand, then immediately lowered its head in submission. The red-haired girl was momentarily stunned upon seeing this creature, but soon understood Brand’s intent. “Qian, mount up!” the young man commanded, “Medisha, cover us—!” The Earth Envoy was preparing to launch another attack, but was forced back by the Silver Elf Princess’s Spirit Gun. Though Medisha’s skill had a long cooldown time, its attack power was terrifying, even Eckmen didn’t dare to take on this human-shaped cannon’s strike head-on. Seizing the opportunity, Qian mounted the horse and extended a hand to pull Brand up. Sharing the same mount made her slightly embarrassed, but she took a breath and quickly calmed herself. “Circle around behind it, this brainless creature is dead-set on its orders. We need to draw its attention first,” Brand whispered behind her, then instructed Medisha, “Stay where you are, Medisha, and act after we’ve left—” “Understood.” Medisha nodded. By then, Qian had already driven the warhorse forward. The Secret Silver Warhorse took off, flying right over the creature’s head. Not only that, she drew the hand crossbow from her boots and fired an arrow. Her action immediately provoked Eckmen’s retaliation. The huge insect-like BOSS raised its head and roared, pressing one hand to the ground. A twenty-meter-long rocky spike emerged from the earth, chasing after Qian and Brand. Qian snorted coldly, urging the warhorse higher. Rocky spikes pursued them, erupting one after another from the ground, each higher than the last, the final spike piercing the sky at nearly fifty meters. The forest fell silent, the dense stone spikes forming a forest of towering spires. As the Earth Envoy’s hand left the ground, the spikes crumbled instantly. It growled lowly at the receding warhorse, then melted into the ground. Medisha saw this as the final act. Having witnessed the creature emerging from the earth to ambush Brand, she knew it intended to repeat its tactic and chase them down. Relieved, she surveyed her surroundings, recalling the direction of Conrad’s escape, then patted her unicorn companion’s neck, urging it to give chase. In mid-air, Brand naturally saw this scene. He immediately told Qian to lower their altitude, knowing the insect lacked intelligence but possessed animal instincts—it wouldn’t incessantly pursue an impossible prey. In the past game, monster luring required skill, and this world was no different. He had to give the creature hope. The Secret Silver Warhorse, under the red-haired girl’s control, descended and slowed. This didn’t mean they were off guard; Brand kept a wary eye on the ground. “What do we do next?” Qian asked. “Lead it back,” Brand replied quietly, “preferably to where we fought yesterday. According to plan, Namenis and the others should come to after dealing with the lizardmen.” “Do you think we can hold out until then?” she asked. “That depends on our skill and a bit of luck.” Qian fell silent but suddenly swept out her war-hammer, sending a lightning arc through dozens of meters to strike the ground amid a cluster of black pines. The Secret Silver Warhorse veered, narrowly evading a sharp rock projectile. Brand wiped cold sweat from his forehead, thankful for Qian’s quick reflexes that kept them from being thrown off. But he knew this dangerous game had only just begun. (PS: Whew, so tiring…)(To be continued, for more, visit www.qidian.com, more chapters await supporting the author and reading genuine works!)
