The air around him grew dense; shadows stretched and flickered along the stone walls as the torches mounted upon them ignited one by one, following his movement like a living flame trail.
His boots echoed across the dungeon floor as he stopped just a few steps away from the stranger. Behind him, the blades of Nyxter floated silently, cloaked in darkness, their edges glinting faintly like predator eyes waiting to strike.
Dredis spotted the blades immediately but didn’t speak anything.
"What do you want?" Leon asked, his tone calm but carrying the weight of authority.
Instead of replying, Dredis suddenly dropped to one knee. His head lowered until his forehead nearly touched the cold ground, his voice carrying a mixture of reverence and submission as he spoke.
"I greet Your Majesty... the King in the South."
Leon’s brows furrowed slightly.
"Wha—" he began, but then the memory of his conversation with Charles resurfaced in his mind.
’What the fuck is happening? Is he with Charles? Did Charles find out about the dungeon? No... I made sure I wasn’t being followed. Then how the hell did he—’
Before the thought could finish, a deep, rumbling voice echoed from behind him.
"Master, have you summoned me?"
Leon’s body stiffened as he turned his head toward the source. In the darkness, two enormous blue eyes glowed — brighter, sharper, and far more intense than before.
Then came the sound of claws scraping stone, and a massive black paw stepped into the torchlight.

His entire body broke into goosebumps as his instincts screamed at him to flee. The creature before him was not something that should exist in the mortal realm.
Dusk padded forward, each step heavy yet eerily silent, and sat down behind Leon, his piercing blue eyes never leaving Dredis’s trembling form.
It was as if he was staring into Dredis’ soul ready to kill him in a blink.
"I–Is that... an E–Eclipsemora?" Dredis stammered, barely managing to find his voice.
"It is," Leon replied flatly, his expression unreadable.
"I–I thought they were just myths," Dredis continued nervously. "Stories to scare hunters. I always wished to see one but—"
Leon cut him off sharply. "Why are you here? And how did you enter my dungeon?" His tone was colder now, each word precise and deliberate.
Dredis straightened his back slightly and hurriedly reached into his cloak, retrieving a sealed scroll. "Ah, yes! My apologies, sir. I truly meant no intrusion. I am here with a message from my king." He extended the scroll forward with both hands.
’A message from the king himself?’ Leon thought, his gaze narrowing as he accepted it. The parchment was bound in royal blue wax marked with the sigil of the Human Kingdom. Breaking the seal, he unrolled it and skimmed the content.
It was an invitation — to a royal function held within the Royal Castle.
’Why the fuck am I being invited to a royal event? Is it because I’ve been posing as a king? Or... because of the dungeon?’ Leon mused, silently passing the scroll to Fruela without showing any emotion.
"You may go," he said finally, turning away.
"Will you attend, sir?" Dredis asked, his head still bowed low.
Leon stopped mid-step. "Hmm...? I thought you were a messenger. Or did your king order you to return with my reply?" His voice dropped into a darker tone that carried across the chamber.
Dredis flinched, realizing his mistake. "I–I’m sorry for my insolence, sir. I’ll leave immediately."
"Wait," Leon said, stepping closer until he stood just inches from the assassin. The sudden proximity made Dredis tense up, his throat dry.
"Y–Yes, sir?" he asked hesitantly.
Leon’s voice was calm but filled with quiet menace. "If anyone from the Royal Castle or the Royal Family dares to step into this dungeon without my permission again — I don’t care who they are — even if they’re remotely connected to the Royal Family... I will blow up the entire Human Kingdom."
Dredis froze. The expression on his face hardened as the fear in his eyes shifted to something colder — pride. "Are you... threatening my king, sir?" he asked, his voice low, but his tone steady.
Leon didn’t even blink. "No. I’m giving you a statement. You’re free to test whether it’s a bluff or not."
Their gazes locked in silence for several seconds — until Dredis finally lowered his eyes.
"I understand. I will deliver your words to His Majesty. Once again, I apologize for entering your dungeon without permission." He bowed deeply, turned, and began to walk away, his figure slowly swallowed by the darkness.
"Master," Fruela spoke softly once Dredis disappeared from sight. "Should I follow him?"
Leon’s eyes remained on the tunnel. "No. Dusk — you go."
"As you command, Master." Dusk’s form shimmered before fading completely, his body melting into the shadows as he began his silent pursuit.
