Xia Mei glared furiously at Xia Lan before obediently hiding behind Aunt Xia.
Xia Mei needed to be conscious of Mrs. He, to maintain the appearance of a lady, but Aunt Xia didn’t need to.
“Er Lan, not to speak ill of you, but all this talk of love and affection… We young ladies should still maintain some self-respect!” Aunt Xia stepped forward, adopting the bearing of an elder, and spoke to Xia Lan with feigned kindness.
