Bai Jing’s hearing had always been good. Even though Ni Kun’s angry voice was loud, the faint sound from the phone allowed her to catch Si Qian’s name. If it was before, she would have questioned him immediately. But today, she also realized that she wasn’t in the right state of mind. It seemed like there was a problem with the database. Otherwise, why would she keep thinking about Si Qian? This wasn’t normal.
Bai Jing felt an inexplicable sense of unease. She wanted to get rid of her thoughts about Si Qian, but she failed. “Si Qian!” Bai Jing suddenly woke up and met Bai Chen’s bright eyes.
“Sister!” Bai Chen rushed into Bai Jing’s arms. His body was warm and soft and his breathing became much smoother.
Bai Jing suppressed her nausea and hugged Bai Chen in her arms. She patted his little head and asked, “You’re awake?”
“Sister, are you thinking about brother-in-law?”
Bai Jing was stunned and Bai Chen stuck his head out of her arms. “Chen misses him too. Let’s find him together. He even promised me that he would treat me to something delicious! Adults must keep their promises, right?”
Bai Jing reached out and pinched his little face. Bai Chen’s condition had relapsed because he had lost too much blood which also resulted in his weight loss.
“Chen is right. Adults must keep their word. He said that he would be back quickly, so he will be returning soon.”
On the other side, the Yun siblings and Fu Heng returned to the station. Everyone was dispirited. It was originally a plan with victory in sight, but in the end, they suffered heavy losses.
Bai Yue immediately came forward when she heard the commotion. “Fu Heng, how did it go? Did you win? Where’s Bai Jing?”
When Yun Shu saw Bai Yue being affectionate towards Fu Heng, she immediately stood in front of Fu Heng and berated her. “What has our matter got to do with you? Even if we catch Bai Jing, she’ll still be mine. You’d better scram as far away as you can!”
Bai Yue was inexplicably scolded, and she was so angry that her lungs were about to explode. However, she had no choice but to pretend to be obedient in front of the Yun brothers. She took a gentle step back and glanced at Yun Yu, keenly sensing that he was injured, she immediately changed into an anxious expression and rushed forward to support Yun Yu. “Are you injured? Yun Wei was not in the mood to care about his sister right now. All he could think about was Ni Kun’s attitude when he left.
Judging Ni Kun’s anxious behavior, something must have happened in the Combat Division.
