Absolute Cheater Chapter 361

The battlefield had fallen silent. Cracked platforms floated across the wreckage, their runes flickering weakly. The bodies of defeated champions—some shattered, some disintegrated—were being pulled away by automated retrieval spells. The sky overhead rumbled faintly, as if the laws themselves were waiting. High above, from the central tower of the auction grounds, the Spiremaster spoke again. His voice echoed across the arena, carried by layered spells that made each word cut through the silence like a blade. "So, it comes to this," he said. "Only two remain." A faint murmur ran through the audience as screens and scrying mirrors focused in on the last two contenders still standing in the Ashen Conflux. "Asher, the Crimson Blood Sovereign," the Spiremaster continued, his tone sharp and unflinching. "Bearer of the Sanguine Supreme legacy. Slayer of Void Cultists, breaker of Sovereign Seals, and the man who has walked untouched through thirty-seven fatal confrontations today." He turned slightly as another figure finally stepped forward from the remaining mist at the edge of the field. "And Makai, the Void Sovereign. A being born not in light, but in shadow. His race, the Voidlings, emerged in the deepest layers of the Shadow Realm—creatures of pure darkness who devour memory and bend space around themselves. But Makai… Makai is not just one of them. He is a mutation." As Makai stepped into view, his appearance sent waves through the crowd. His body wasn't stable—it flickered between different forms. One moment he was a tall, obsidian-skinned humanoid with burning violet eyes. The next, his limbs stretched and bent like they were made of smoke and tendrils. His presence pulled the light out of the air, making everything around him dim. "He was once a Shadowling," the Spiremaster explained. "A lesser creature from the Outer Dusk. But something changed. He evolved—no, mutated—into a true Voidling, then surpassed even that. In just a hundred years, he reached World Rank. A feat that should be impossible. And now, he stands as the Void Sovereign." The camera feeds turned to the spectators who had fought earlier and lost. Some looked bitter. Some looked numb. One or two sat slumped in silence, their injuries being treated by healers, but their gazes were locked onto the stage below. The Spiremaster's voice cut through their despair. "The rest of you who fought today—watch closely. Because this is what you missed. This is what you were never ready to fight for. The opportunity to claim the Supreme Law of Nullity." He paused, letting those words settle in. "The others… they fought, they struggled—but they lacked the strength, or the will. Some relied too much on old legacies. Others didn't adapt fast enough. Now they return to the auction chambers with their teeth broken and dreams shattered. You have no one to blame… but your own weakness." Asher and Makai now stood on opposite sides of the ruined battlefield. The ground between them trembled with unstable law. Fractures in space flickered with distorted images—echoes of other battles, other lives, other timelines trying to leak through. The very stage couldn't contain the pressure of these two anymore. Asher stood still. Calm. His wings of bloodlight folded behind his back. The runes along his spine still glowed from his last activation of Bloodlit Dominion, but he hadn't taken a step toward full strength yet. Makai's body was halfway phased into shadow. His feet left no trace on the broken stone beneath him. Around him, the air was colder—emptier. Every breath he took seemed to devour light. The laws near him were cracking like glass. Asher spoke first, his voice calm, without arrogance—just a simple statement of fact. "I hope you can at least push me to use half of my strength." Makai narrowed his glowing violet eyes, and a smirk curled across his shifting face. "Underestimating me will be the end of you." Then, without warning, the arena trembled. Both of them moved. Asher's Death Aura erupted—layers of crimson light forming six sharp wings behind him, while the air around him grew thick with pressure. Every step he took caused ripples in reality. Makai's Shadow Void Laws answered back. The light in the arena dimmed instantly, as if someone had thrown a veil across the world. His body blurred and phased in and out of existence. From his palms, threads of shadow extended like blades, warping gravity and sound. Their laws clashed in the center of the arena with a thunderous impact. Bloodlight slammed into pure void. The ground shattered beneath them. Stone platforms cracked and exploded as the pressure of their clash sent shockwaves out in every direction. Even the barrier protecting the audience flickered dangerously. Asher moved first. He blurred forward with a burst of speed, his right fist slamming straight toward Makai's head. Makai ducked low, shadows twisting his body into impossible angles. He struck back with a slicing tendril, aimed to pierce Asher's side. Asher twisted slightly, letting the tendril pass inches from his skin, then drove a heavy knee into Makai's ribs. The impact sent Makai flying into the far arena wall. The wall cracked from the collision. Makai coughed, his body reforming from mist and darkness, and pushed himself up. "If this is all you've got," Asher said coldly, "then you're not even going to make me use 50%." Makai growled, then exploded into movement again. He vanished—teleporting through a corridor of shadows—and reappeared behind Asher with a blade of condensed null-energy. He slashed downward, fast enough to leave three afterimages. Asher caught the blade between two fingers. Google search Novel~Fire. (n)et Makai's eyes widened for the first time. Then Asher headbutted him. The force sent Makai crashing into the ground, stone and shadow erupting in all directions. But this time, he didn't stay down. His form expanded—multiple limbs made of pure void sprouted from his back. His aura flared with full Void Sovereign power. From all sides, shadows moved like living beasts. Dozens of tendrils lashed toward Asher, each one carrying enough null-energy to erase flesh and law both. Asher raised his hand—and a Crimson Halo exploded behind him.
