A Villain's POV Chapter 4

He could sense everything that was around him, from the room to right outside. He could sense the little bugs that were crawling on the ground, and he could sense the students sleeping within the ten meters range of him. "This is awesome, this is crazy," he said in excitement, but in his excitement, he noticed something—there were footprints in his room. He didn't know this spell could do that, but from the looks of things, it could also save details of what happened in a space for a while. This was just Raze coming to a quick deduction of what was happening. Now these footprints could be his, but that wouldn't make sense because he had taken a walk nearly around the room and he wasn't seeing those steps. Also, the steps he was sensing didn't start from inside the room; they started from outside in the hallway, right from the edge of his spatial zone. He could also sense other footsteps that had gone past there recently, like the person that came to tell him about the investigation, but that one stopped at the door and didn't go any further, and then it returned back from where it came from. But this one came from outside and passed through the wall into the room, and walked to the chair that Raze had been seated in. Raze followed the footsteps and walked to his chair. The footsteps seemed to stop right there. He looked at the chair that he had hit to the ground and saw that there was a palm print on it. If what he was thinking was correct, someone came into this room and walked to the back of his chair. Maybe that was the person that killed him. But he wasn't sure if the person actually touched him, and for some reason, he couldn't sense anything on him using the spatial zone, only things around him. "I need a mirror," Raze said. He used the spatial zone to search for one, and he found one mirror in the drawer under the table. He walked to the table and pulled out the mirror from the drawer. It was a small circular mirror with a copper frame. He picked up the mirror and took a look. This was the first time that he had seen himself since he came into this world. He had stunning white hair, long enough to reach his neck, but it was tied into a simple ponytail. He was not a world-shattering beauty, but he was pretty handsome for a sixteen-year-old boy. His skin was oddly pale, like a vampire's, and his eyes had a purple tint to them. But his looks were not his problem right now. He noticed that there was a palm mark on his neck, like someone had grabbed his neck from the back, and there was a thin line in front of his neck. Raze was not dumb, and in this new body, he was even smarter. That thin line across his neck was probably where the person that grabbed him slit his throat. The wound easily explained the blood that stained the paper, but he still found something very odd. When you slit the throat of someone, the blood spilled should be far more than what was on the paper. He picked the paper up again and took another look at it. The blood on it was much, but not enough. But there was a possibility that the person that killed him did it fast and left the room, and a few moments later, Nathan was transported into the body of Raze, and that somehow healed up his body. Though it didn't really explain why there were no blood stains on Raze himself. "Whatever, all that doesn't matter right now. What matters is the fact that I was assassinated by someone, or the original body was. And that was what created the gap for me to come into this world. This is something that never happened in the story. It's not just a little change, this is a major change," Raze said. He dropped the piece of paper and walked to the door. He held the door knob and slowly opened the door with the lamp in his left hand. He slowly opened the door, trying to make very little sound, but the door was slightly old and still caused some creaking. He finally got it wide enough to step out of the room. He left the door open and walked out of the room, walking quietly on the wooden floors of the dorm building. He walked slowly, following the footsteps that his zone would sense. He passed several doors as he went, trying to be as quiet as possible. After a while of following the footsteps, he could no longer sense them. They just stopped appearing. "Seems the track has gone cold. I won't be able to find who actually killed me. But at least I have something to work with now," Raze said. He turned back and returned to his room. He carefully closed the door to not make any sounds. When he was inside, he walked to his chair and picked it up. He placed the lamp on the table and sat down. He removed his large hardback notebook from the stack of books carefully and opened it. Suddenly, he felt a huge wave of fatigue hit him. The spatial zone fluctuated. He quickly turned it off, and immediately he got relief. He had forgotten that the spell worked with mana, and when mana got low, it made the person feel weak. "I should be careful when using any spell. I don't want to harm myself," he made a mental note to not forget. He looked into the drawer again. There was a pen, one that looked too modern for the age period of the story. It was like a fountain pen, with a black metal frame. According to the story, this world was old when compared to Earth, but it was still advanced in many ways due to the use of magic.
