Ariana sat on her couch with her legs crossed under her. It was a rainy Saturday and Lisa had come to spend time with her. It was supposed to be a regular weekend where she spent time with Lisa and Zion but today, Sarah meant to come but she and Zion were raining late.
Lisa had been poking her about Calhoun. It had been a week since she started working with Calhoun and it wasn't getting better.
"I don't know what to do Lisa. I literally melt when he is in front of me!" Ariana cried out.
"Wait, I am confused, when did you meet this guy, isn't a week ago?" Lisa asked Ariana. As far as she was concerned, Ariana just met the guy. How come she was melting?
Ariana pulled a pillow to her chest and hugged it. Even talking about it brought back memories of the nights they have spent together. Just two, yet it felt like it was a thousand times.
"Remember when I went out to the bar, a few months ago?" Ariana asked her.
Lisa moved her eyes around, thinking about the day Aria had come exceptionally late to work.
"Huh, yes. But what does that have to do with this?"
Ariana took the pillow she was hugging and placed it on her face. "I had sex with a man at the bar!"
Lisa's eyes widened in shock as the words sunk unto her head. "You did what?" She exclaimed.
"I swear I didn't know it was Carl back then... I thought it was just a sex worker at the bar!" Aria said from behind the pillow.
Lisa got up from where she sat and snatched the pillow from her face. "You didn't know it was Calhoun fucking Lawson!? Really? " Lisa asked in disbelief. Who didn't know Mr. Lawson. He was everywhere in the city! He practically owned it.
"I swear Lisa, I didn't know. I thought—"
"Hell no!" Lisa interrupted her. "Don't say that anymore because saying that is even worst! You gave your virginity to someone you thought was a sex worker, what were you thinking?" She cried out in horror. "Didn't you think about getting infected?"
Ariana sank back into her chair and refused to raise her eyes to Lisa.
"Jeez! Aria!" Lisa added still horrified by the idea of having to sleep with a sex worker.
"I was heart broken and drunk! Don't blame me..." Aria managed to day.
"Look, the only reason I am not blaming you is because you managed to catch the young president Lawson as the sex worker. I don't want to begin to imagine what would have happened if it was an actual sex worker you met!"
"Well, it wasn't." Ariana whispered
Lisa cocked her head to the side and glared at her. "Really Aria? We are still trying to sort the issue with Ethan and you go and get yourself another billionaire boyfriend!" Lisa said with a smirk.
"I am not his girlfriend..." Aria mumbled.
"How many times have you slept with him now?" Lisa asked with her eyes raised.
Ariana turned away from Lisa and pulled another pillow to herself. She had slept with him twice already and each time she was in that office, she wanted him so badly she got feverish. This meant, she would sleep with him again, if she was giving the chance. So, she couldn't respond to Lisa.
"You need to take things easy. You can't be jumping into a relationship this soon," she advised more seriously.
Aria pulled her mouth into a pout and focused her attention on the droplets of water on her window on the far end of the room. The dropped and created a path as they flowed down the window to get collected on the pane. The circle repeated itself the moment the sun came out. The rain water would evaporate back into the sky and then when it got too hot, it would rain again.
Her life was like the rain. It was going on a repeat.
She was with Ethan and got cheated on. Now she had somehow found herself entangled with Calhoun, another multimillionaire in the city. Some people would consider this good luck but to Ariana Brown, rich boys were bad news.
"Have you guys talked about it though?" Lisa asked after a while. If Ariana was going to do this, they had to be certain that Calhoun Lawson had the same feelings for her to avoid a scandal. The worst thing that could happen was for the media to tag Ariana as a gold digger.
"We have," Ariana replied with her eyes still fixed on the window.
"And?" Lisa urged her.
Ariana heaved a sigh and turned to face Lisa. "I don't know Lisa... He said he wanted me. I don't even know what that means..." Aria sounded stressed and tired. She had been thinking about it herself, yet she wasn't able to come to a conclusion. She knew that Calhoun liked her and the truth was, she was attracted to him to. But the question was, was it enough?
"He wants you?" Lisa said with a large smile on her face.
Aria glared at the smile and Lisa tried to keep it away. "Why are you smiling. You know what happened with Ethan. I don't want to get involved with Carl..."
"But baby girl you are already involved with him! Didn't you tell me he got you lunch through out the week?" Lisa asked.
Aria shrugged. "Yes he did that, but I couldn't even eat... Because all through the meal I wanted him to kiss me! Lisa he is driving me crazy!"
Lisa got closer to where Aria sat and held her hands. "You need to ask yourself these questions. What do you want? Let's forget about Ethan and the world right now."
Aria stayed silent and listened to Lisa's words. She let it into her head and rolled it over. She liked Carl. She thought he was really handsome and intelligent. He had grown his parents company from nothing to something at a very little age. But did she want to be with him?
"I don't know, Lisa. I don't know what I want..."
