Ethan remained quiet as he watched her. Hr simply wanted to show her how much he loved her. To him, it didn't matter that the entire world was taking videos of them. He could never be embarrassed about a video of him and his Aria.
"I have had enough Ethan! Enough!" Aria barked. "I am this close to throwing you out but do you know why I won't do it? Because I am the only one who is going to suffer from the consequences. It's just me!"
"Aria why do you talk like this? Why would you suffer because a video of us has been uploaded?" Ethan asked.
Aria hissed in frustration as she passed a hand to her hair. What was wrong with Ethan?
"I lost my job because of it! Sofia wants you by all means why not just go to her and leave me the hell alone!" She screamed at him.
She didn't want to throw him out and then somehow the Lawson's group might see it and think she was a woman of questionable character. She didn't want to lose that job!
"Aria please don't call that snake's name here," Ethan spat. There was pain in his voice as if Sofia's name was a whiplash across his back.
"Oh, now she is a snake?" Aria asked defiantly. She folded her arms across her chest and heaved. "Look, I don't want to go back through my past again. I have moved on with my life, and I really hope you can do the same. Please leave!"
Ethan went down on his knees and held his hands together. Tears started streaming down his eyes and Aria took a step back in shock.
"What are you doing?" She asked him.
Ethan passed a hand to his nose and wiped it. It became red and his lips shook as he struggled to make out his words.
"Please Aria, can't we make up? I know I fucked up... Damn, I have always been fucking up but I really miss you. Can't we just put all this behind us and get back to the way we were?" He whimpered.
Aria shook her head at his tactic. She couldn't believe Ethan could ever do this. He was crying for her?
"I really miss you Ariana. Please come back to me... I miss spending time with you. I miss seeing you smile because of something I said. Please Aria, it used to be me and you against the world but now I am all alone and the world is winning..."
"Ethan you have to stop this drama and move on, how many times do I have to say it for you to understand?" Aria hissed as she turned and started pulling the door open. She had heard enough rehearsed lines from him.
"How can I move on when you are everywhere that I go?" He asked and Aria paused.
"What?"
"It's true Aria. I am useless without you and you know it-"
Aria was not going to let herself be moved by his antics. She pulled the door open and held it in place. "Ethan, I am sorry but I have to ask you to leave." She was struggling with her own tears as she had to hold it in less he started thinking she was calling for him.
"Aria..."
"I do not want to hear another word Ethan!" Aria yelled.
Ethan got up and wiped his tears with the back of his hand. "I know I messed up, I shouldn't have proposed to you like that. I shouldn't have done that. I didn't realise how much this whole thing hurt you. I was being stupid and selfish and- " He stopped to wipe away more tears and Aria had to chew on her bottom lips as her own tears drew closer.
Ethan took a step closer to Aria and she backed into the door. "Stay away from me Ethan!" She warned him.
"I promise I will make it up to you. I will change. I will become a better man. I can't let you go. I will always be here for you and you for me," he whispered before he made his way out of her house.
Aria pushed the door close and leaned on the door. She couldn't let Ethan words get to him. She couldn't. She had to be strong. Ethan was a cheat and he would never change no matter how hard he cried.
Her tears finally came and she slumped to the floor as her legs fell weak. Her heart was beating so fast, she thought she would pass out. If she had never dated Ethan, all these things that were happening in her life wouldn't have happened again. She would have been fine!
She wouldn't have suffered like this.
He was the cause of her pain. He was the one who got her into this! Why did she fall in love with him?
She should have loved a simple boy from an average family.
Someone like Carl...
She shook her head, trying to take the memories of Carl away but it was too late now. She just knew in her heart that her life would be much better with a man as simple as Carl. He was not very educated, obviously and he didn't have rich and powerful women after him. That was the kind of man she should fall in love with and not the likes of Ethan.
Ethan had been a mistake.
Suddenly she was no longer hurt by her situation, she was angry. Her pain had turned into anger and she promised herself to get so powerful in life that people like Alice and her sister would never be able to stand in front of her.
Her eyes fell on Ethan's flowers and she felt her insides recoil in anger like a gun about to discharge bullets. She jumped to her feet and went to the flowers, she snatched it from her table and went to her trash can in the kitchen. She shoved it inside multiple times and the petals flew all around her kitchen tiles.
She was done with rich boys and their troubles!
