Ariana saved his name as The heart throb. And at the moment her heart was throbbing.
It was weird how a simple memory of him could alert all her five senses. Ariana took in a deep breathe as she stared at her screen.
She wanted to answer at the same she didn't want to answer. It was starting to get toxic the way she felt towards him, a simple human like her or that was what she thought. Ariana didn't think a simple human could ruin her senses.
She took in a deep breathe as she stared at the message on the notification then she clicked it. She wanted to bail at the last moment but she hated it when people left her on read, so she wouldn't want to leave him on read because she wouldn't also tolerate it.
"Ariana brown get yourself and return a simple hello!" she mentally coached herself.
She finally picked up the phone and responded.
"Hey!" She answered with sweaty palms.
He had seen the message already. Ariana watched as the typing popped in and out. It took already too long.
"How was your day?" He asked and another flip was felt in Ariana's stomach. It was almost as if she could feel a thousand butterfly in her guts. She suddenly felt like a horny teenage.
"I was fine!" She replied with an emoji.

"I hope it wasn't too stressful?" He asked.
Who was she lying to? Her day was obviously hellfire with a side of pandemonium topped with the underworld. It was horrible as ever. She literally risked loosing her job. Tomorrow was going to be like facing the judgement day.
Alice herself was hell on its own. But right now she wanted to enjoy her time at this resort Because it might be her last time she would ever enjoy such luxury in the next few months.
But she couldn't tell him all that, those were are own Personal problems, she couldn't possible tell them to a stranger she met not long ago.
It hasn't been up to month since she met this demigod of hers.
"Yes it was fine, why are you messaging me?" She asked. "Should you not be working at this hour?" She added.
It made a little jealous that he slept with countless of women everyday to make a penny. At the same time it was also stressful. If only she could help him in some way.
"Work is over for today I closed early," He replied.
"Oh okay that's nice, you should get some rest, today must have been stressful, " She remarked.
"Yes, it was very stressful, I met a lady that didn't want to leave after our meeting, she kept on staring at me," Calhoun replied
A woman, she probably let the sex get to her head —Ariana thought with a frown.
"Wow, that's weird," Ariana said after thinking of what she would reply without sounding jealous.
"Yeah, not all women are like you Ariana," He typed back.
Ariana felt her stomach leave butterfly level to rats. The feeling became stronger. She inhaled and exhaled for some seconds before she resumed typing.
"Lol, I barely know myself," She replied back.
Ariana frowned as she looked at her own reply, it was not corresponding with what he said. She just shrugged and waited for him to reply.
"I feel tired already I need to get some sleep," He said.
"I also need some rest," Ariana texted back.
"Sweet dreams!" He texted back before he went offline.
"Sweet dreams to you too," Ariana whispered to herself.
Ariana placed the phone on the side as she stared up. She hadn't noticed but it was already dark outside.
Tomorrow was going to be another day, it wasn't going to be a good day at all. That was what she said but it didn't feel like it.
She just wanted to sink in this bed and never wake up, forget about all the things she had to do. If it was possible for her to slow down time and wake up till the next week.
Ever since she broke up with Ethan she had barely had enough sleep. It was impossible for her to close her eyes and sleep peacefully without thinking that she had to wake up the next day by five in the morning.
She had an alarm clock that cut her sleep shot every morning and she had a loud speaker that barely gave her peace in the morning till evening at work.
It was impossible to be in the right state of mind in the kind of environment she worked in everyday. Lisa was her life support and sanity, if not for her she would have lost her sanity a long time ago. Being stuck in that place from eight to five in the evening. She had to stay over for extra time that she might or might be paid for.
All she wanted was a long vacation in an unknown island. But as they say if we keep on living in our fantasy we would never grow and we wouldn't be able to face life and hold it by the neck.
Ariana slowly drifted to the subconscious world as she kept on thinking.
As usual for Ariana the morning was caught short by seven different alarm at six seconds intervals.
She calmly took her shower and got ready for work. The box in which the lady had bought came with a complimentary dress. That explained why she also asked for her dress size. It was a simple floral dress from a Japanese designer.
The material seemed expensive, it outfit was also complimented with her exact shoe size. Hotels barely did this. In some way Ariana would come back here if she ever found herself in a similar situation.
Her breakfast had been bought to her before she woke up. She munched up everything before she left the place.
Ariana had managed to find a place to throw away her sense of fear as she walked into Alice's office.
"Good morning Miss Alice, " She greeted already knowing what would come to her.
"Good morning Ariana, some files were already placed on your table, please check them and bring them back when you are done, " she said not glancing.
Ariana frowned as she stared at the Alice.
"You aren't Angry?" She asked before she could stop herself.
"I would get mad at you if you don't leave this place and do what you were asked to do," Alice said.
Ariana slowly stepped back and left the office. Lisa was already in shock as she stared at her friend unharmed, and without a sack letter.
"What did she say?" Lisa asked.
"She asked me to go to my office and do paper work," Ariana said also In shock.
"For the first time in history we must celebrate this achievement," Lisa said.
