Ariana felt like boring her fingernails into Sofia's eyes as She smiled at her.
She was the cause of everything she was currently facing, maybe if she never met her things would have been better for her.
The sooner she thought so the sooner she realized if she didn't meet Sofia, She wouldn't have met Lisa, She would never have had a well paying nob and she wouldn't have known anyone.
"I'm sure you are thinking of why you ever knew me... bestie," Sofia said as she glared at Ariana.
"What a low life! Look at you all dressed up. Do you think you would have had any of that if I didn't come into your life?" She asked as she placed her hands on her waist.
As much as she hated what she said it was all true. Sofia made a major change in her life. Basically, financially she got a job that enables her to pay for her house rent and stop living with her parents.
She left her parent's house at the age of twenty three. Two years after she finished her master's.
"What did you think? That I would be friends with such a cheap brat like you? You should have known I was just using you!" Sofia stated before she rolled her eyes.
Her words were like throwing sharp needles that pierced her. It felt like her heart was burning from a fire of pain.
She had no idea Sofia's words could cut like a sharp knife. Ariana closed her eyes gently and blinked the tears that were starting to form at the corners of her eyes.
"Like what was in that thick skull of yours when I approached you that day? Do you know how ashamed I felt when I mentioned to my friends you were my best friend? " she said before she smiled.
"I'm late for work, please move away from my lane," Ariana requested as she clutched her bag.
"Really? You are going to work? You should feel ashamed and walk away you slut!" Sofia yelled and she got the worker's attention, some stopped to look but when there realized it was Sofia they walked away.
"So I'm the slut now?" Ariana asked, she had already held her tongue for too long. It was time she spoke up.
Enough is Enough! —She said to herself
"You are the one who slept with Ethan but it's me who is the slut Sofia?!" She said strongly stressing her name.
"Sofia You fucked by Ethan in his freaking house when you knew I was coming! It's me who is now the slut! Are you fucking with me?" Ariana yelled.
"Shut your fucking mouth Ariana, people are here, " Sofia said in a lowered tone.
"Oh! People? I think they would love to know what their boss is doing when she's not at work!" Ariana angrily replied before she dropped her bag on the staircase.
"Listen, Everyone! Sofia is a cheap Slut that stole my boyfriend after nine years of our friendship! And guess what today is our anniversary, " Ariana concluded before she grabbed her bag and pushed her out of the way.
Sofia stared at the door as we walked down slowly. Ariana's words had gotten to her. But she would go to all extents to get Ethan for herself.
Ariana walked up the staircase as fast as she could. She just had a confrontation she refused to have just a second ago, now she was dashing up the staircase.
She was first met with Lisa.
"Well, you saved our asses unless we were going to get fired in the next fifteen minutes, drop your bag in the office and take this coffee, she's waiting," Lisa said handing her a cup of fresh coffee she made for her.
Ariana obeyed what Lisa said and dropped her bag in her office. She dropped her coffee on the table before she walked out and faced her doom.
Alice tapped her feet lightly as Ariana entered. Ariana was not scared anymore, She just lost her need to get scared. She just waited for what would come for her.
She was currently tired of having close anxiety attacks.
"Late again Ariana! When would you ever follow the rule?!!!" Alice said without even giving time to explain.
"I just-" She was about to explain but she was cut by Alice.
"You just what? Went to grab coffee? What happened when you were coming! It still counts as being late Ariana! What is your problem!!" She shrieked.
Ariana was somewhere else, she was lost in her own thoughts. She wants to think too much about it. But still, here she was breaking again her own promise.
Her bosses voice was just like a dim sound in the background. She couldn't even concentrate on what Alice was yelling about.
Ariana needed a break from reality, Somewhere she would forget her pains and problems.
She would probably get a vacation or a leave, she needed to see her parents. She just wanted her mom to massage her head with some hot oil.
But Alice was never going to give her any of that. She was like a cruel beast. If they ever needed a representation of hell on earth then Alice would have been the best example.
"If you ever do this I promise you that they you will get fired, " Alice said fuming with anger.
But not even a single sound of what she said was heard. Alice realized the person she was scolding was not paying attention to what she was.
"Ariana brown, I am not talking to myself aren't I?" She asked loudly
The loud call of her name brought her back to reality.
"I heard what you said ma'am, " She said absently before she walked out of the office.
She retreated to her office still thinking of Sofia, She was a gift and a curse yet she couldn't reverse it.
Aria felt the phone ring on the table, she wanted to ignore it, but it was the office phone.
"Hello, This is Brentwood industry, Ariana speaking," She said sounding as professional as ever.
"It has been long since I heard my daughter's sweet voice." The sound of her mother's voice sent a throbbing feeling in her heart.
