Ethan left their apartment and Ariana held on to Calhoun. She couldn't believe it was finally over. Ethan had undergone therapy and he was working towards becoming a better person. He said he was going to leave the country and start his life over again.
"I guess my time is up as well," Lisa said in the corner where she had sat down.
Ariana raised her head from Calhoun's chest and stared at her friend. "I still hate you for hiding this from me Lisa," she whispered before burying her face into Calhoun's chest again.
Calhoun chuckled at the comment and rubbed a hand on her back. "Honey, we all know you wouldn't have listened to her even if she had told you."
"I would have," Ariana said with a pout.
Lisa gave a weak smile. She knew Ariana very well. Calhoun was right. She wouldn't have listened to her even if she had told her that Ethan was only looking for retribution.
"The next words that will come out of her mouth will be, 'she is not a difficult person," Lisa said, and this time Calhoun laughed louder.
Ariana also found herself smiling because those were the exact words she was about to throw at them. She was glad everything was over and even if she still didn't like the fact that Lisa was trying to take her mind back to Ethan when she was still at the Lawsons, she decided to forget about the whole thing and forgive her friend. Everything she had done so far, had only been for her wellbeing.
"Lisa, do you still have contact with that designer you once told me about?" Calhoun asked.
A huge smile bared on Lisa's face and it sat there. "Yes, I do!"
Ariana sat straight and stared between her best friend and her fiancée. "What's going on?" She whispered.
"Well, I think it's about time we picked a date for the wedding and we need Lisa to start ordering her dress. I am guessing she will be your maid of honour or am I wrong?" Calhoun asked, and Ariana felt her cheeks flush with excitement.
She didn't think their wedding would happen this soon after everything they had been through.
"Oh my God! Congratulations guys! I can't believe it!" Lisa said happily.
Ariana could not contain her joy. She hugged Calhoun and peppered his face with kisses. She had to start planning everything right away.
"What date should we pick?" She said, getting up. She suddenly felt like a princess and her joy knew no bounds. A wedding was every girl's dream and hers was about to manifest.
"I will leave that to the both of you. I have a meeting with Zion in the office. Why don't you guys continue? I will be back in a while," Calhoun said.
He got up and placed a kiss on her cheek before walking out of the house. As soon as Calhoun was out, Lisa and Ariana screamed for joy.
"Yes!" They screamed as they hugged each other.
"This is wonderful! Girl, what date should we pick?" Lisa shrieked.
"I don't know. My gosh, I am so excited nothing is coming to mind."
"How about next month?"
"No, Lisa, I think that is too close. We need time to prepare things."
"How about in two months?"
Ariana nodded in agreement and she was about to blurt a date out when Lisa screeched.
"Wait!" She exclaimed. "Your birthday is in three months. Why don't we fix it on your birthday? It will be so romantic!" Lisa sang dreamily.
"Just imagine saying your vows on your birthday? Baby girl, you will never have to worry about remembering your anniversary because it will be on your birthday!"
"Hmmm, that makes a lot of sense! I love it!"
"August the seventeenth it is!" Lisa exclaimed with a clap of her hands.
Ariana moved to the couch one more time and held her hands together. "We need to start planning on the colours, and food and the invitation cards need to be out by next month so the guests can prepare..."
"Oh yes, ma'am!" Lisa took out her notepad and started jotting.
"How about the hotel you will be lodged at and the hall?"
"I will have to ask Calhoun about that. Left for me, I want somewhere magical," Ariana said as a blush crept up her cheeks. It was funny how she always thought this moment in her life was going to happen with Ethan and today, here she was planning to share it with Calhoun, the man she met in a dangerous bar.
"We should also organise a single ladies' party on the night before your wedding and we should send an invitation card to Sofia!" Lisa said as she burst into laughter.
"You are so naughty Lisa, why would you do that?" Ariana asked with a smile on her face.
"Just to show her that girls her type never got happy endings. Jeez! I am glad Alice has changed or she would have ended up desperate just like Sofia. Can you imagine she now flocks with Lily Lawson's son, Noah?"
"There was this video of the both of them in a club, she was practically naked! God, I wonder what rich people give their children? They have no shame!"
"She pretends to hate him when they are in interviews and when it gets dark she needs him to scratch her lady parts! I thought she had gotten enough from Ethan! That lady is just shameless!"
"Yeah, I saw it with my own eyes," Ariana said in a small voice. Suddenly she was no longer in a happy mood. As her mind thought about the wedding preparation. She remembered the one obstacle she would always have.
"Aria, what is it? You are getting cold feet?" Lisa nudged her by the arm to get her smiling but it didn't work.
Ariana heaved a sigh and stared up at her friend from behind her fingers. "Who will walk me down the aisle, Lisa?"
